Martin Riley clenched his fists, a flash of anger in his eyes. "I'll handle this. Let's get you to the hospital to treat your wounds first."
Henry, who knew Martin's temper well, realized that Hazel Morgan was in for it. She must have said something really bad to make Martin this angry, though he hadn't heard exactly what.
When Crystal Foster heard the word "hospital," her face turned pale. "I don't want to go to the hospital."
Martin suddenly remembered how scared Crystal was when Hyland Riley threatened her, clinging to him and refusing to go to the hospital. "Why not? You seem to have a strong aversion to hospitals."
He spoke softly but kept his eyes fixed on her, trying to read her expression.
Crystal bit her lip hard. "I don't like the smell of disinfectant, and my injuries aren't serious. I can bandage them myself. There's no need to go to the hospital."
