"Otto, move over, don't squish your mom," Martin Riley said as he walked into the room, phone in hand. He gently lifted Otto off Crystal Foster, who was lying on the bed.
Martin looked at Crystal, noticing her pale complexion and dry, cracked lips. "Is your head still hurting? I called a doctor to check on you."
Crystal nodded slightly. The doctor came in and examined her, finding nothing serious, but suggested she stay in the hospital for another night just to be safe.
Later, an auntie brought in dinner. Crystal slowly sipped her porridge, then suddenly looked up at Martin. "Where's Stella?"
Martin poured a glass of water and placed it in front of her. "She's been arrested for assault."
Crystal nodded, resting her chin on her hand, her eyes drifting as she pondered. "If I wanted to negotiate a settlement with her using something else, do you think it's possible?"
Martin paused, looking at her intently. "Are you thinking about the Foster family pharmaceutical shares?"
