NISHA'S POV
The first thing I felt was the throbbing in my neck. Sharp, pulsing pain that seemed to radiate down my spine and into my skull. I tried to move and immediately regretted it. Everything hurt.
"Lady Sedimo, please remain still."
The voice was soft, concerned. I opened my eyes to see an omega servant leaning over me, her hands gentle as she adjusted something around my neck. Bandages. I was wrapped in bandages from my throat to my shoulders.
Why were they calling me that?
"What happened?" My voice came out as a croak, barely recognizable.
"You had an accident, my lady. Your neck was injured. Beta Gavron brought you here to heal."
Lady Sedimo. The words hit me like ice water. I remembered now. The adoption papers. The trap. The way Beta Gavron had caught my wrists when I lunged for him, and then...
"Brought me here? He broke my neck!" The words fell out of my mouth before I could stop them.
