Chapter 38 - " THE VISION. "

Hashim's POV

His eyes burned with vengeance as he paced inside the darkened hall, a twisted grin curling on his lips.

"Now it's Shehzadi Nayab's turn," he whispered to himself, madness glinting in his eyes. "If I can't touch her directly, I'll shatter everything she holds dear. One by one… her peace, her people, her love."

His hand clenched around a faded piece of parchment—the so-called "book" that guided his delusions. The truth? There was no wisdom in it. No strategy. Just empty pages and a darker voice whispering within his mind. But to Hashim, that was enough. That was destiny.

Fatima's POV

She couldn't bear it anymore.

The weight of her brother's sins crushed her chest with every breath. The fear that Hashim might hurt Shehzadi Nayab—or worse, go after Qasim, Abdul Rehman, or even their father—drove her into despair.

Tears blurred her vision as she stood near her room's mirror. Her hands trembled. With a sob, she grabbed the edge of the broken glass and brought it close to her wrist—but before the blade could pierce, a strong hand stopped her.

"Fatima!" her father cried, wrenching the glass from her hand. "Are you mad? What are you doing!"

She collapsed in his arms, sobbing uncontrollably.

"What will I gain by staying alive, Baba?" she whispered. "When my own brother has become a monster? He's not just harming others... he'll come for us too. I can't be apart from him, but I hate what he's become. I hate him..."

Her father hugged her tightly, whispering prayers, trying to hold together what little peace remained in their fractured family.

Abdul Rehman's POV

He was no longer the same boy who had once stumbled through dusty corridors, trying to decode ancient languages. The book his father left him—it changed him. Gave him vision, skill, and strength. Tactics, combat, clarity of mind. Now, there was no one he couldn't defeat… except time.

Time was slipping. Hashim was getting bolder.

Abdul Rehman tightened the gauntlets on his wrists and whispered to himself:

"I'm ready now. I will find him. And I will make him answer for everything."

But even with his growing strength, something inside reminded him—this wasn't just a battle of weapons. It was a battle of minds… and broken hearts.

Shehzadi Maryam's POV

She stood on the palace balcony, letting the moonlight kiss her skin. The cool air brushed through her hair, but her mind was far from calm.

Yousuf.

Every time she looked at him, something fluttered in her chest—soft, uncertain, but undeniably real.

And Yousuf, watching her from the courtyard, felt it too.

Yousuf's POV

The moment his eyes found Maryam, something changed inside him.

"Why do I feel this way every time I see her?" he asked himself. "She's pure… gentle… untouched by the darkness that surrounds us. When she speaks, it feels like the world stops just to listen. And I… I want to tell her everything. The truth. Who I really am."

He clenched his jaw.

"But if I do, will she still see me the same way?"

Question for readers

Will Yousuf's hidden truth change everything between him and Shehzadi Maryam?
