Aria sat on the plush sofa with one leg crossed over the other, her posture rigid with barely contained fury.
Beside her, Leyla had curled her legs beneath her like someone doing yoga, leaning back against the cushions with a lollipop hanging from her lips. The sweet cherry flavor did nothing to mask the tension crackling through the room.
"Did I just see Kaelric kiss someone?" Leyla's voice cracked as she pulled the lollipop from her mouth with a wet pop. "Did Kaelric actually kiss someone?"
She shot up from her relaxed position, her brown eyes wide with disbelief. The lollipop fell from her trembling fingers, clattering onto the marble floor.
"Damn it!" Aria's voice exploded through the room like a gunshot. She jumped to her feet, her hands clenched into fists at her sides. "First Orion, and now this—this mysterious girl!"
