Chapter 46 - "46: Fairy Glitter and the Su Mos’ Path Forward"

In the Fairy Tail world, among the three great super magics, Fairy Glitter is undoubtedly the one described with the highest level of flair and prestige.

After Fairy Law, the jewel among super magics, stunned everyone when it first appeared, all eyes were filled with anticipation for the remaining two super magics of Fairy Tail.

When Su Mo first saw the super magic Fairy Glitter hidden in the Mavis cemetery being lent to Cana—a mage whose combat abilities weren't particularly outstanding—he immediately thought: this must be designed to showcase just how powerful this magic really is.

The idea was probably to have a weaker user wield this magic and effortlessly defeat a stronger opponent!

After all, based on the descriptions, Fairy Glitter has a much higher single-target attack power than the group-attack-oriented Fairy Law. It's even called a "super annihilation magic."

With magic of this terrifying caliber, it should be able to demonstrate unimaginable power, right?

That was Su Mo's thinking—until he saw what happened next, and immediately froze.

"???"

A mage with roughly S-rank power fully unleashed this super annihilation magic, determination unmatched, even with epic background music playing.

Yet in the end, he still couldn't defeat Bluenote, the Vice Guildmaster of the Grimoire Heart Guild!

Alright then.

Well, the attack was interrupted—not because the magic lacked power.

This slightly damaged the magic's prestige, but it wasn't a big deal.

If the point was to show that even a super magic can be evaded or countered if the user isn't strong enough, Su Mo could reluctantly accept that.

After all, among the three great super magics, this one was supposed to be the most powerful and dazzling.

He thought that in future battles, it would surely display considerable strength.

Even so, by the end, Su Mo never really saw Fairy Glitter used to much effect.

If anything, during the Great Magic Tournament, Cana shattered a mana measuring device with this magic, pushing it beyond its limits.

Besides that, there was little else of note.

In the final showdown, although it hit the Magic King August, it, as usual, failed to defeat him and only served to highlight August's greatness.

Despite all kinds of praise or accolades, the actual battlefield performance was just "half a star."

Because of this, Su Mo felt that this magic was both the most mysterious and the most underwhelming super magic.

So, when the Fairy Tail world's Su Mo said this, the Su Mo from the Danmachi world immediately showed a skeptical expression.

"Such an underwhelming super magic—does it really have any use?"

"…I agree, it doesn't seem to perform well."

The God Slayer world's Su Mo first nodded, then looked at the Fairy Tail world's Su Mo.

"But magic, I think, depends heavily on mana, right?"

"I don't understand magic as deeply as you, but I do feel mana affects magic power."

"Before I became a God Slayer, using Fairy Law felt one way. After becoming a God Slayer, using Fairy Law again was like night and day."

Having experienced this firsthand, the God Slayer Su Mo had no particular prejudice against Fairy Glitter.

According to his experience, super magic is still quite useful—even for God Slayers.

When mana is sufficient, super magic can even rival the power of divine authority.

If used in the Ultraman Tiga state, the power of super magic might even surpass typical divine authority.

Because the ceiling and floor of its power are both very high, the magic might have seemed underwhelming in the original story but could unleash unimaginable strength in his hands.

The God Slayer Su Mo nodded in agreement with Fairy Tail Su Mo.

"Exactly."

"The power of magic can't be judged solely by appearances but by the principles behind it."

"With the right use, even many unimpressive magics can become incredibly powerful."

"Although Fairy Glitter's performance leaves much to be desired, it's still a powerful offensive magic recognized by both Mavis and Jellal. Its power can't be weak."

"Gathering the light of the sun, moon, and stars—the whole world's light attribute—is indeed very suitable for developing Ultraman Tiga's shining form."

"But it's too early to say for sure. I haven't even gotten my hands on this magic yet!"

Saying this, Fairy Tail Su Mo shrugged.

To obtain this super magic Fairy Glitter, one must gain Mavis's approval.

During the S-rank selection, Su Mo once went to the Fairy Tail guild's sacred place—the Tenrou Island.

Though he found Mavis's tomb during the test, he didn't obtain the magic.

So, how powerful this magic actually is, or whether it can develop Ultraman Tiga's shining form, even Fairy Tail Su Mo himself wasn't sure.

"That makes sense."

Ultraman Tiga world's Su Mo nodded.

"But no matter what, this is a viable direction. If we really can develop Shining Tiga, then I won't have to panic anymore."

"So, I'm counting on you for this!"

He supported Fairy Tail Su Mo's guess wholeheartedly.

After all, it was a hope—a matter of life and death—so he wasn't willing to give up on any possibility.

"No problem."

Fairy Tail Su Mo was easygoing.

After all, Ultraman Tiga world's Su Mo was their ultimate trump card.

No matter what, they wouldn't let him face danger alone.

"If I manage to get Fairy Glitter, I'll notify you immediately."

Once this topic was settled, Ultraman Tiga world's Su Mo finally breathed a sigh of relief.

At least now, there was hope against the final boss.

Unlike before, when they couldn't even come up with a plan.

With that pressure eased, he looked around at everyone.

"The big question's solved. So, what's your plan for the next step?"

With the ability to share strength, naturally they would discuss cooperating to each improve themselves, gaining even greater benefits in the end.

On this point, through the initial plans of the group—from ordinary people or S-rank mages to now possessing both immense divine authority and Ultraman Tiga's power as a trump card—Su Mo was deeply touched.

If they hadn't worked together from the start and just pursued their plans one by one, they'd probably still be mere S-rank mages now.

They wouldn't have mastered Ultraman or God Slayer powers.

And once the opportunity to harness Ultraman's power is missed, it's very hard to get it back.
