Chapter 9 - FIRST DOOR TO SULTAN ROOM

Mohammad, Dua, and Javed are all waiting together for Sheer-Gul. Sheer-Gul arrives wearing a red dress. Armaghan keeps staring at her—Sheer-Gul looks very beautiful. Sheer-Gul says, "Come on, we all should get going now." Then everyone starts walking.

On the way, a stone comes under Sheer-Gul's foot, and she almost falls, but Armaghan catches her. The two of them are looking into each other's eyes. Javed, laughing, says, "If you two are done, shall we go??"

Sheer-Gul quickly stands up and says, "Let's go, we just stopped for a moment." Then everyone reaches the gates of the palace. There are guards everywhere, checking everyone before letting them inside. Mohammad says, "There are so many guards here." Sheer-Gul replies, "We just have to find a way to get inside somehow. Then two of us will go to the Sultan's chamber, and the rest will stay downstairs to keep watch."

"Someone will come with me to the Sultan's room because I've seen the map, so it's necessary for me to go," says Sheer-Gul.

Dua says, "Mohammad will go."

Javed says, "No, Armaghan, you go."

Dua, angrily, says, "Armaghan will go with me."

Armaghan says, "Alright, I'll go upstairs with Maryam."

Dua says, "But…" Just then, Sheer-Gul and Armaghan start walking toward the palace gate.

Javed says, "They've gone."

Dua says, "Javed, you know I like Armaghan. Even then, you did this."

Mohammad says, "What's done is done. Now we should go inside too. Armaghan and Maryam have already gone, we shouldn't delay." Then everyone enters the palace.

Dua, Javed, and Mohammad distract everyone at the celebration, while Armaghan and Sheer-Gul head upstairs in the palace in search of the Sultan's chamber. As soon as Sheer-Gul and Armaghan go up, they find two paths ahead.

Armaghan says, "How will we know which way to go?"

Sheer-Gul replies, "We need to go right."

Armaghan says, "You're not as forgetful as I thought. You remembered the map so well, even though you only glanced at it quickly."

Sheer-Gul says, "And what about you? What do you think of yourself, you flirt?"

Armaghan, frustrated, says, "Don't… don't call me a flirt!"

Sheer-Gul says, "I'll say it anyway. What will you do? And honestly, what can you even do?"

Armaghan says, "Proud! You're really full of pride."

Sheer-Gul replies, "Think whatever you want, I'm going."

Then Sheer-Gul and Armaghan see a door ahead that leads to the Sultan's chamber.

Armaghan asks, "Is that the Sultan's room?"

Sheer-Gul says, "No, this is the first door to enter the Sultan's chamber. We have to pass through three doors first, then we'll reach the actual room."

Armaghan says, "Alright then, let's go."

Sheer-Gul thinks to herself, "If this door recognizes my face, all the doors ahead will open, and my father's room will appear. Then Armaghan will find out that I'm the princess. I won't let that happen."

Armaghan asks, "Where did you get lost?"

Sheer-Gul picks up a veil and covers her face.

Armaghan says, "There's no one here except us. What's the need to hide your face?"

Sheer-Gul replies, "My choice."

Armaghan says, "Proud as always. Shall we go now, if you don't mind?"

Sheer-Gul says, "Yes, yes, let's go. When did I stop you?"

Then Sheer-Gul and Armaghan open the door and go inside. It's very dark in there, and a golden parrot appears.

Armaghan says, "The Sultan keeps a parrot to guard his room? And he has to work this hard just to enter his own chamber?"

Sheer-Gul replies, "If this door had recognized the Sultan's face, it would have led straight to Abu Jan's room."

Armaghan, surprised, asks, "Abu Jan??"

Sheer-Gul thinks nervously, "What did I just say?"

She quickly says, "I meant the Sultan. I accidentally said Abu Jan because I've been missing my father a lot lately."

Armaghan says, "You've never really talked about your family before."

Sheer-Gul responds, "If your nonsense is over, can we hurry? Dua, Javed, and Mohammad must be waiting for us downstairs."

Armaghan says, "Yeah, but what do we do about this parrot?"

Just then, the parrot speaks: "Who are you people?"

Armaghan says, "It can talk too?"

Sheer-Gul says to the parrot, "We both wish to enter the chamber of the Sultan of Iran, and we trust that you will fulfill your duty. Please show us the way inside."

The parrot says:

"Whoever speaks with a sincere heart,

Will receive everything they seek.

Not just here, but always, it will work.

In this darkness, the one who lights up,

Will be the one to guide you to your destination."

As soon as it says this, the parrot disappears.
