Chapter 11 - Quit Spiting

"Teon, come look at this," a woman said as she knelt by the witch's charred body.

A man with brunette hair walked over to the woman.

"Is that Glenda?"

He asked then got on his knees and picked up a partially melted necklace from the floor. His left arm was in a sling. He wore a coffee-brown blouse that matched his sling. Over that, he wore a blue jacket that paired well with his pants.

The jacket hid most of his left arm.

"It seems the person with my organs got away. Fine him," Teon instructed and the woman nodded.

Teon walked over to the physician's body.

"I gather this is the seller. Benimaru, find out who this man is," Teon said as he looked at the lifeless physician by the witch's side.

Still in Asumadoik, in a town called Main. Loric, Markeen, and Shaban were lodged in an Inn. They were having breakfast at the Inn's eatery.

Loric's fever had broken but he had dark spots appearing all over his body. He kept spitting from time to time.

"Are you sure you are okay?" Shaban asked skeptical about Loric's answer.

A man walked over to their table.

"You need to quit spitting indoors," the man said in a not-so-polite manner.

"Or else?" Loric asked, he looked at the man again and spat.

The man got closer just before a woman held him back.

"Here, sorrow for my husband's behavior," the woman said after placing a spitting bowl on their table.

Loric did not touch his food, Markeen ate about two spoons. She lost her appetite on the count of Loric's spitting.

Shaban on the other hand cleaned his plate.

"Are you going to eat that?" Shaban asked and Loric shook his head. He pulled his Loric's plate of food and started eating.

"You can have mine," Markee said and pushed her food to him.

Back at Piek, Laud and Pisco had become friends after weeks. Laud visited the town and watched Pisco play.

After he made a little money they went to the farm to pay off some of his debt.

"So where you stay?"

Pisco asked as they walked to the farm.

" I stay a little far away from town," Laud said as they continued walking.

Pisco had randomly asked Laud some personal questions. Laud always gave him half-truths.

They got to the farm and paid Zachariah 20 silver coins. They petted the Griffin and announced he was leaving.

Pisco and Laud left the farm. Unlike the other days where Pisco made his way back to town. This time he pretended to head back to town and followed Laud.

When Laud got to the woods, he hid and watched him.

"What is he waiting for?" Pisco thought as he hid behind a tree and watched.

"I know it, he is an orphan. I am going ask him to come to my house," Pisco said, but as he was going to approach him. Sabrus fell from the sky.

Pisco quickly hid as his heart tried to beat out of his chest. He slowly slid down with his back against the tree.

After he calmed down he realized, Laud was still there. He took a deep breath and looked around for a weapon. He grabbed his guitar and got out of hiding.

He saw Laud on the back of Sabrus before they took off. He slowly brought down his weapon and fell to his knees.

He noticed he had peed himself. Without saying a word. He got up and went back home. His home was a burnt-down saloon. He slept on a makeshift bed made from hay. His blanket was made of old clothes stitched together.

As he lay in bed he thought of what he saw.

In Main, a woman entered an Inn.

"Excuse me, I was supposed to meet a friend here male, about 5'7","

The woman said and the innkeeper shook her head. As she was leaving she knocked over a spitting bowl. She picked it up and then slowly sniffed it.

"I think my friend was here, he was the one spitting. Can you please tell me where he went?"

The woman said and the innkeeper shrugged. As the woman was about to leave she noticed a man staring at her. He pointed in a direction and she nodded.

She then walked out.
