Chapter 35 - chapter 35 Soul granules

Rin stood over the battlefield, staring at the six motionless bodies barely clinging to life. His breathing had steadied, but his mind was racing.

"This is the perfect chance," he muttered.

He turned away from them and headed back toward the dead soldiers and enemies scattered across the field. There were enough corpses here to run the experiment he'd been waiting to try for weeks. The red blood water. The mysterious fine dust. Item he had taken from the western spy he'd executed.

Until now, he'd never had the privacy or freedom to test them.

Rin crouched beside a fresh corpse and dropped a single glowing red drop of the blood water onto its chest. The reason he is using them on dead bodies was because the system called it the blood lake and the reason he didn't use it on the guards was because he was afraid that it could have healing properties.

At first, nothing happened.

Then… the drop pulsed.

It began to spread.

Like veins forming under the skin, it slowly expanded, pulling blood from the corpse into itself. But it was slow ,far too slow for Rin's liking. So he did what he had to.

He opened the body, tearing through flesh and ribs to expose the heart and inner vessels, allowing the blood water to seep in faster.

The crimson mass swelled, pulsing stronger.

Next, he sprinkled the fine dust ,the powder he'd kept sealed for safety, across another body.

Nothing.

No reaction. No glow. No decay. Just… nothing.

Rin frowned. Then he reached down and touched both the blood water and the dust at once.

[System Notice: Blood Water — Absorbs blood from corpses to concentrate and purify bloodline. Absorbing it may raise your purity.]

[System Notice: Soul Granules — Substance unknown. Highly condensed remnants of shattered soul energy.]

"Soul granules?" Rin whispered. "So that's what it is…"

He didn't fully understand it yet, but if the system gave it a name, it meant it was valuable. Probably something tied to the soul realm, maybe even the soul stage itself. He made a mental note to investigate later.

For now, he left the blood water to keep absorbing from the corpses and turned back toward the six half-dead enemies. The two guards and four rebels.

They were awake now. Their eyes fluttered open, filled with confusion and dread.

But their bodies wouldn't move. The blast had left them broken,if they use any energy their soul mighg shatter, internal damage critical. Rin towered over them.

"Good morning," he said with a wicked grin. "You all slept for quite a while."

One of the rebels growled, "How… are you still alive? That bomb should've vaporized you…"

Rin's grin widened.

He walked up to the rebel, crouched beside him, and without warning, punched him in the face.

Then again.

And again.

The rebel coughed blood. Bones cracked. But Rin didn't stop. His expression twisted, lips curled in rage, teeth grinding as he hammered his fists down.

Again. Again. Until—

His hand punched through the rebel's mouth, all the way out the back of his skull.

Silence. Blood dripped onto the dirt.

The others were paralyzed. Even the two guards.

One guard's voice trembled. "S-Sir… please… help us… If they recover, y-you'll be in danger…"

Rin turned slowly, eyes blazing with unstable fury. He laughed.still acting.

Then he walked over to the male guard and slammed him to the ground.

"Why did you make me do this?!" he screamed. "Why did you force me!why didn't you leave me alone! Why did you push me this far?!"

His words might be directed to valen, because of the pain he suffered here didn't even thought of taking revenge on valen.

He began pounding his fists down, again and again, until the man's ribcage cracked open. A final cry, and then, silence.

Another one dead.

More points gathered.

The remaining three rebels, trembling, shaking, began to beg.

"Please, Your Highness, please… we were ordered by your brother…!"

"We had no choice! We can't disobey him!"

"We have families… children… please don't kill us…"

Rin stared at them in silence, breathing hard. His hands were drenched in blood. His eyes, unreadable.
