The desert wind had begun to calm,but inside Feng Wu, the storm hadn't even started settling. He sat just outside the mouth of the rocky cave, watching the sky burn into evening orange. Beside him, Li Hua and Li Liu remained quiet, thier faces pale from the horror they had narrowly escaped.
The five disciples who were with them...gone. Taken by the assassin's shadow. And worst of all they had no choice but to shut the door on them. Just then , the mirror in Feng Wu's satchel glowed softly. He pulled it out.
Jian Wei's reflection appeared,brows furrowed. " Feng Wu? Are you alright? Did anything happen? "
Before Feng Wu could answer, Li Liu, still shaken, muttered. " They're dead...the others. They're all gone."
Feng Wu gave a short nod. " The assassin..it got through a crack in the cave. Possessed one of them. We couldn't save them."
Jian Wei stared at them through the mirror." You lost five people?" His voice was quiet, stunned. " I thought we were just being cautious,but this thing... it's hunting us."
" It doesn't rest." Li Hua nodded." It's waiting. Watching. It knows when we're vulnerable."
Jian Wei exhaled deeply and rubbed his forehead. " I told Mei Ling and Bai Lu to stay alert. But this changes things. We can't just stay hidden and hope it stops."
" We need to fight smart," Feng Wu said, gripping the edge of the mirror. " We've seen how it moves - from shadow to body. It avoids the sun . That's its weakness."
" But night is coming." Li Liu whispered." When darkness spreads, where will it go ? How do we stop something that can become anyone?"
Feng Wu's eyes narrowed," We use that. Let it think we're afraid. Then we turn the trap on it ."
Jian Wei nodded slowly." Let's regroup. Tonight. We'll form a plan. We're not losing anyone else."
The mirror dimmed.
Feng Wu glanced at the sisters beside him. The silence was heavy,but in his eyes, something new had awakened - not just fear,but purpose.
The assassin might've taken thier comrades,but now...it had their full attention.
