The Beta had been run-through by a werewolf with deep golden fur. He placed his sword on his shoulder and smirked at Stefan and began walking back into the crowd of werewolves. Stefan narrowed his eyes at this and decided that Goldie shouldn't make it to the next round.
His eyes widened even as a broad smile bloomed across his face. A soft blue glow shown on the Beta's chest. A Beta and a Delta, how intriguing. Stefan instinctively looked to Amber and she nodded. Her hand casually rose and the Beta was taken from the ring. Amber's eyes did not leave her soulmate.
"Make sure he lives." Adonis nodded and blinked from her side. "He will make you a very good Beta." She clearly saw the agreement in his eyes. Was this the connection her parents always spoke about? The connection that she thought was nonsense?
Amber's heart suddenly fluttered in her chest as she thought about her and this werewolf building their pack together. She pursed her lips. 'Get it together Alpha. Remember: He does not actually want you.
Round one continued with only ring three and eight still fighting. No one really challenged Stefan and he found this rather funny. He had been searching for Goldie and Goldie had been expertly avoiding him.
Stefan paused and inhaled then exhaled deeply. 'Help me little sis. Can you hide me from him so that I can politely slit his throat?'
'Of course big brother. Your wish is my command.' He shook his head as he felt her smirking. 'Count to five and all traces of you will be gone. Starting… … … … Now.'
He began walking to something he sensed earlier. 'one'. He walked casually. 'two' Maybe he should do more than slit his throat. 'three' He was putting him through a lot of hassle. 'four' A glorious smile spread across his lips as he walked into a deep abyssal hole. 'five'..
Everyone sat forward while Amber narrowed her eyes and smiled. She could sense exactly where he was but she now could see that the little one, his sister was a rather powerful Psi. She could not actually tell what had happened yet but by everyone's reactions she knew it was something pretty powerful.
"Where exactly did he go?"
"Right? I can't even sense him anymore"
"Did the idiot jump into that abyss on purpose?"
'Idiot? He is the strongest one here, besides Alpha Amber and that is so close I wouldn't be able to call it.'
'Agreed. But still he did just jump into an abyss and disappear. That is a bit stupid.'
Amber smiled and looked at her new little sister with a smile. Her smile widened when the little girl looked to her, winked, and turned back into the direction of her brother. 'My little sister is very powerful. He has layered something on top of her Psi abilities and she can still track him. Is this due to the faint blue band of light stretching between them?'
Stefan was moving quickly through this deep chasm. One had to jump from ledge to ledge to move through it and he was feeling like some type of cat springing from ledge to ledge.
'Your soulmate is very powerful My Lord. She can track you just as well as I can and I have my marker on you.'
He nodded. Those were the second pair of eyes he felt on him. He knew he didn't need to respond to Tiffany. When they were connected like this she had permission to know all his surface thoughts. She tried to give him the same permission but he could only maintain it for a few hours. After thirty minutes he had a horrible headache and after three hours his nose started bleeding and he would have minor brain damage.
A Psi brain was just to strange. When he entered it wad like he was viewing twenty pairs of brains all at once because the Psi werewolf brain was always divided into its left and right hemispheres and they functioned independently continually feeding each other information to be collated and processed at the brain stem. Looking through the eyes of a Psi taxed a regular brain to no end and even the weakest Psi brain could turn a strong normal brain to a pile of grey matter mush.
He arrived quicker then he had expected. He felt Goldie's nervousness. He smirked. 'That's what you get for not being prepared.' He sprang up four ledges to reach the surface. As he rose above ground his claw slashed out and ripped Goldie's his Achilles heel out.
Stefan rose up, flipped in the air twice and landed diagonally and to the left of where he came up from the underground area.
'How many are left in my ring Lil sis?'
'There are still one hundred and sixty-eight … sixty-nine if you count your prey.' Stefan nodded, of course she wouldn't count Goldie.
He frowned. Goldie was still trying to get up. No wonder he needed to ambush powerful participants.
"So you thought you would even last long enough to get a good glimpse of Lady Amber?" He laughed condescendingly. "Let's say you stabbed enough werewolves in the back, did you really think you could even overpower a shewolf of her stature?"
He paused. 'Sis?'
'I am checking. You're right. It is somehow on his left leg but I do not understand how.'
'Don't worry. I do.'
He turned to Amber who had tensed, making Adonis and her guard tense as well. "Please do not worry My Lady. I will take care of this." She nodded slightly but she also stood. Stefan turned back to Goldie, his killing I intent peaking to new found heights.
"Do you not know that she is my soulmate and because I felt I was not worthy to claim an Alpha I walked away when she called me? I didn't know how I would ever make it up to her."
He to slow measured steps towards Goldie and then he paused like he was contemplating something.
"I may never make it up to her. But I can surely rid her of a treacherous mongrel like you."
He moved so fast only Amber and Tiffany could see what he did and only because they were connected to him. He moved forward and with his he pulled a large chunk of flesh from his left leg, he quickly pulled something from the flesh and threw a fine turquoise powder into Goldie's face. Finally he twirled his other hand, as he threw the chunk of flesh away, and caused the air above Goldie's face to form a funnel that pushed the powder into Goldie's eyes, nose, and mouth.
Goldie squirmed on the ground, violently coughed and vigorously rubbed his eyes.
'Sis.'
Without receiving an answer a set of images entered his mind. It was Goldie speaking to Kristof Yellow-Iris and planning how to take over, or cripple, Star Fire Pack. Stefan was instantly enraged.
He blinked inwardly. 'Why the hell was he so upset?' He felt Tiffany snicker in his mind and he mentally checked himself so that he could focus on the issue at hand.
When he finally did focus in Goldie he was about to faint, his eyes rolling to the back of his head and his body limp.
"What the he…" Stefan stomped on Goldie's leg and he was rewarded with the most wondrous, pain laced yell he had ever heard. Stefan smiled maliciously.
"Before we begin please allow me to inform you that the Dark Howl Pack was destroyed in the wee hours of the morning." He shrugged at Goldie's shocked and incredulous expression just as his claw smoothly entered Goldie's right leg and his tibia shattered. Stefan smiled when received a second reward for his effort.
Amber was working hard not to even crack a smile let alone burst out in laughter. She could not hear anything but she could understand every malicious assault and devious smile. She was enjoying her soulmate at work.
Stefan. It was a nice name but it didn't seem right somehow. Still she smiled.
"So you're enjoying your soulmate at work are you?"
She almost set up straight in her seat. She exhaled and pursed her lips. Why did Adonis always need to be so annoying. He jumped when Stefan shattered the cowardly werewolf's leg bone. She looked in in admiration. That was an interesting move. It would seem Stefan had some special abilities.
Was he unique or had he come from some obscure lower level Pack.
She couldn't wait to find out.
