Emeric sighed relaxed and loosened the tie of his school uniform slightly.
A cup of black, steaming liquid was passed from the side of his longtime friend, Sona Sitri.
«Mmm," Emeric took a small sip of the unfamiliar drink. - I may not know much about coffee, but this one is surprisingly good..... - He lightly saluted his cup to his friend's side, complimenting her unkindly.
Sona looked back mockingly:
«You'll practice your eloquence in front of other naive fools," Sona ostentatiously didn't touch her cup. - I just brewed you a Nescafe....
«Ahem," he shrugged a little awkwardly. I thought he said he didn't know anything about coffee. - So that's why I felt like a slave to the system for a second-- It's invigorating, listen... - Emeric looked thoughtfully at his cup.
In this ungraceful way, the dialog that had just begun stalled on its own. It seemed that none of the young demons were in any particular mood for an interesting conversation.
Emeric didn't know what was eating Sona, but his feelings were mixed.
On the one hand, his life had taken on new colors. And a lot of them!
A rich intimate life opened a new page in his and Valerie and Akeno's relationship.
No doubt he was now much closer to them. It was not just coitus, but practically dictating his intentions for their future life together. Now there was no ambiguity or unobvious flirting, Emeric had clearly stated his rights to his women. No, it had actually been an unspoken fact before, but taking their relationship to the next level had permanently cemented the not-so-weak bonds.
There were certainly funny moments, such as the rivalry between his queen and the bishop. Not just funny, but really, really nice. It seemed that the two girls had set their sights on finding out exactly who would come out better at "tying him down."
He was, of course, in favor of such competitions. As they say, healthy competition never hurt anyone!
Especially him, yeah...
In fact, it was a stupid question, but for lack of desire to interrupt the action, he just kept silent and occasionally shot thoughtful glances in their direction. So that, in fact, they did not realize that for him there was no difference.
How could you not? Can you love two completely different people in the same way? Of course not! Even parents are often deceitful when they talk about "the same" love for their children.
Option one - the simplest, that is, the parent has a favorite. Conditionally the most obedient or gifted. And there is nothing to be done about it, is it possible to control emotions? And although it will never be agreed out loud, but the "stand out" child will be. And there's nothing wrong or surprising about it, it's just life.
The second option is when you love your children in your own way. You don't compare their specific qualities or actions, but simply see them as complex individuals who need to be nurtured and cherished in their own way.
There's really no difference in the two options. Usually they are mixed, so it's all feelings, you can't just say "love more" or "love less".
In short, it's very complicated.
Not in his case, though. He could clearly say that he loves his two lovers in different ways. And such love is perfectly traceable not only in everyday life, but also in bed.
Even Sigmund Freud believed that the libido was the primary driver of human psychology. Of course, it's not that simple, but according to his theory, the human ego originated from primary instincts. And in his understanding, a primal instinct is precisely the desire of your libido.
Therefore, very often sincere sex gives much more about your interlocutor than he gives in ordinary life. A measly half an hour can tell you more than half a lifetime.
Valerie, due to her tough, and most likely cruel, upbringing, was a rather prickly person in life. She valued personal strength and power, and did not tolerate those who did not aspire to such things. In many ways, she resembled a dragon in such behavior. But in bed, she genuinely wanted affection. To be nurtured and cherished, so that she could receive affection and give it in return. So the dragon was turning into a kitten. A kitten who really wanted his attention.
At first glance, Akeno was a friendly person who was easy to get along with. In fact, she really dislikes strangers, especially those who like to pry into her soul. After all, and his angel, unfortunately, not without psychological traumas. And in bed, she reveals herself as someone who is very dependent on his influence. She wants him to establish control, that is, to order, punish and praise.
They're not really that much different.
But each of them loves him sincerely, and he gives everything in return. So it's never been a question of who he loves more. He just loves them. That should be enough.
His business was to streamline and enjoy. Let him compete, he wouldn't make any grades or promises anyway. He just liked hot sex with a hint of jealousy from his loved ones.
Anyway, it's all cool. It's really like he's on his honeymoon. Romantic dates, flirty flirtations and hot nights. All with two of the most beautiful girls. It's like he's reborn.
And that was the problem. Not the girls themselves, no. The problem was his mind, which was simply awash in pleasure. What seems to be the problem? Are you complaining about your sins and vices? Are you even a demon?
To such inner questions he would give an unequivocal answer from life. When he was a little boy, his sister had said one phrase to him:
"Our nature does not determine our actions."
He interpreted that one a little differently. That is, you control your instincts, not them controlling you.
If you lapse too long in this rosy, loving atmosphere, you just might not know what to do next.
He still has too many problems he feels in his distant future.
And Claria's medallion only confirmed it.
The first mystery that should have occupied his mind was the locket. It should have, but it didn't, because he was a little busy. Namely, debauchery with his lovers.
Actually, it was supposed to sound like a rebuke, but for some reason he still felt like patting himself on the back approvingly...
What was he thinking about? Oh, right, Cleria!
Who is Claria? Here's what we got:
She's obviously a demon of high or higher rank. To be more precise, if we remember how she complained of weakness, we can assume that she is a demon of high rank. Moreover, she was the caretaker of Kuo City, in a not-so-understandable stretch of time. Though, if one imagines her being associated with the obscure schmoon of the fallen, one could infer some sort of contact between Claria and the Excalibur wielders who lived here a decade ago. She had a brother who really appreciated her, since apparently they were the only ones in the family. That still couldn't narrow it down from the families. There were plenty of families with just a high rank in Hell, and assuming Claria was from the Pillar was still too bold.
Next is Masaomi.
Apparently, Claria's lover. Who is a swordsman of Japanese descent, judging by his name.
A swordsman in Japan? Very fucking original! Now it fucking makes sense! In the land of samurai and katanas...
In all seriousness, he was connected to the church in some way. Claria and Masaomi couldn't have just ended up in what appeared to be a small exorcist headquarters....
Wait. Exorcists?
Could Masaomi himself have been an exorcist? Originally, Emeric had thought he was a Clairia figure, but their being in the basement of the local church couldn't be explained.
Then what does that make it? A high-ranking demoness fell in love with an exorcist? And it was this forbidden love that put them in danger of being destroyed on both sides?! What kind of nonsense is that? Couldn't Claria have just, like, reincarnated Masaomi? I mean, he was kind of ready to run away with her, right?
It raised more questions. His gut told him it couldn't be that simple. The forbidden love story was a mess, so full of inconsistencies.
And the box? In that vision, he'd focused his attention on the box Masaomi had left the locket next to. Maybe that was the stumbling block. Cleria blamed herself for the failure, but how exactly could she have stumbled?
Was it possible that the Fallen were looking for this particular box? From the beginning, he didn't like the version in which the fallen ones were trying to find information about Excalibur. What exactly was the information they were looking for in a church in small town Japan? Some lost anime episode where King Arthur pisses off mechs and tentacle monsters! All in all, completely unexplainable, Emeric wasn't even sure if Claria and Masaomi were connected to this incident. Suddenly, was it really a coincidence? Just a trophy that was left behind like trash.
He could only be almost certain of one thing. Masaomi and Clary were no longer alive. First of all, they hadn't taken the locket that was dear to her, a gift from her beloved brother. Second, his newfound "intuition." If you can call it that.
Emeric was sure that his ability to see "dreams" through a non-magical medallion was not common. He'd even tried a similar trick on other things. Not to say that there were no results, for he did "feel" something, but that was all. All attempts to see the "past" of other items had failed.
The only thing he could tell was the connection between his "intuition", "luck" and this "looking into the past of objects".
Those were the issues that should have been on his mind! Not what underwear Valerie would wear tonight!
He's lost control of what's going on, and it could cost him dearly. He needs to get his thoughts and actions in order right away!
Sona finally couldn't stand his thoughtful silence and turned to him:
«What are you thinking about? - She gleamed her glasses with interest.
«Just so... - Emeric shook off the stupor caused by the realization of the coming problems. - About the eternal...
Sona raised an eyebrow condescendingly:
«Does your eternal have upper and lower hemispheres?
«And how did you- - He snapped his fingers in a hunch, as if he remembered something. - That's right! Prince Sitri's...
«Don't you dare! - She ruffled like a cat and interrupted him in the rudest way possible. - 'This has nothing to do with my birth abilities,' Sona glared at him with no small amount of reproach. - Can you keep yourself under control at least in class? I have to run after you all the time and erase the memories of everyone around me...
«What do you mean? - Emeric raised an eyebrow questioningly. - We've been quiet...
«You wouldn't find it strange if someone, namely your shameless face," Sona tried with all her might to keep her emotions under control. It wasn't working so well. - Asking Akeno to escort him to the nurse's station during fucking class, and then kicking the nurse out and locking herself inside for the whole class?!
«For a couple of classes, please note.....
«You're thinking about the wrong thing, you idiot! - Sona was blushing red, either from embarrassment or anger, but probably both would be appropriate. - You're doing THIS in almost every corner of the school!
«Without a bit," he couldn't hide his pride at what he'd done. - Already in every...
«Just die!
