"Open this door right now!" Lilith's shrill voice echoed through my bedroom.
I took a deep breath, checked that the file was completely hidden under my mattress, and smoothed my expression into one of innocent confusion. When I opened the door, Lilith stood there with her arms crossed, rage written across her face.
"Can I help you?" I asked softly.
"Don't play innocent with me," she snarled, pushing past me into my room. Her eyes darted around suspiciously. "I saw you coming out of Kaelen's room this morning. What were you doing there all night?"
My heart skipped a beat, but I kept my face carefully blank. "I had a nightmare," I said, wrapping my arms around myself. "I was scared and confused... I didn't know where to go."
"So you just happened to choose Kaelen's room?" Her eyes narrowed. "What will your precious Valerius think about you sleeping with other men?"
