Leo pondered for a while what would be the most beneficial and finally came to the conclusion
'I'll put one in strength and vitality because i'm curious to see if anything will change, five to my spirit stat which is my most important stat and the last three to my agility. I won't put anything to my int stat since i don't use any mana right now anyway so i don't need it that much yet, maybe in the future. Now let's see about the skills i can get'
Leo opens his skills list window and is met with a new unfamiliar skills category on top of the rest
'Species Skills huh, i can more or less guess what that is and i'm already excited. As a ghost there must be a lot of cool skills i can grab, let's see'
Leo opens the species skills list and he is already drooling at what he sees, Ghost Sounds, Fear, Life Absorb, Spectral Hands, Tendrils, Materialize, etc.
'These skills sound so op if used together, if i were to combine my chill zone with ghost sounds and then fear would be guaranteed guaranteed success and with tendrils paired with life absorb i would be able to suck the life of creatures even from a distance, so sinister. And materialize, i NEED that skill, with that i'll be able to interact with the world without the need to possess anything. But there is one issue, skill points, i only have 3 skill points and even though ghost sound, fear, spectral arms and tendrils cost a single skill point, life absorb costs two and materialize costs ten whole points, this is a tough decision'
Leo looked through the available skills and thought for a while until he finally came to a decision
'This is probably the best combo that i can get for now, i'll get tendrils and life absorb'
Having made his decision Leo bought the two skills and opened his status

'Wow, nothing changed to neither of my stats other than my INT, that's rather disapointing but no matter, these new skills more than make up for it and what are these descriptions, this is broken. The tendrils i summon, both their strength, length and number all depend on my SPR stat and as for my life absorb it's even more op than i thought, it is both an active and a passive skill if i want it to be. In it's passive state i passively absorb the life essence over an area of effect around me that depends on my spirit stat, the essence i absorb is converted to stats and a small amount of exp, that means i can increase my stats even more without the need to level up. In it's active state i can turn it off i don't want it and i can designate targets to absorb life essence from, it's also great that i can use life essence through my tendrils, also the rate of absorption is doubled if i'm possessing the target. I need to try it out right now, i'm sorry Mr. kitty but you're the only one available at the moment. I thank you for your service, you've served me well'
With that Leo activates the life absorb skill and he can instantly feel a weird refreshing and empowering feeling coursing through him. It was a rather ecstatic feeling that one could easily get addicted to if not careful.

After a ten whole minutes the cat's body that was drained of it's life essence now looked like a wrinkled raisin and Leo was forcefully thrown out of it's dead body that he couldn't control anymore since it was dead
'It's a shame that i had to sacrifice this body but it's something that had to happen sooner or later, rest in peace shadow cat, you won't be forgotten, for the next few chapters at least, i doubt many will still remember you later on. But enough of that now, it's time to see my spoils, how much did my stats rise'
