Chapter 13 - Chapter 13: Boiled Green Peppers

"Principal, where does that kid come from?"

"He was sent here by the Fujimura Group."

"Hey, isn't that a gang? Can't we convince him to leave?"

"When this school was founded, the Fujimura Group helped a lot. They donate money every year to support our education."

The principal didn't say much, but his meaning was clear: persuading the boy to leave wasn't easy.

"How about moving him to another class?" a teacher suggested.

"Come on, we only have so many students in the first grade. Switching classes won't change anything," another replied.

"What if we move him to a higher grade? His academic skills are weak, but older students are more mature and less likely to be influenced by him."

The first-grade teachers discussed for a while before looking to the principal for a decision. The principal, puzzled by their eagerness to shift blame, decided to see the transfer student himself that afternoon.

After the first class of the afternoon, the principal understood the first-grade teachers' struggles.

Teaching Broly was a terrifying experience. The classroom felt heavy and oppressive. Broly kept asking endless questions, exhausting the teacher with his strange, unpredictable inquiries.

The reason for this odd atmosphere was simple: Broly treated learning like sparring with his father, Paragas, unconsciously releasing a confrontational aura. Though he meant no harm, ordinary people couldn't handle this pressure. A 40-minute class felt suffocating, leaving both students and teachers uneasy under his intense presence.

To be precise, the first-grade teachers weren't overwhelmed by Broly's odd questions alone. They were targeted by his aura, which broke their defenses as his tricky questions piled up.

"Alright, let's try moving him up a grade," the principal of Shenyuan Town's Affiliated Primary School said, rubbing his temples and agreeing to the teachers' suggestion.

And so, on his first day in first grade, Broly was promoted to second grade.

"Class, in our last period this afternoon, we'll welcome a new student who'll study with us," the second-grade Class A teacher announced.

Unaware of Broly's intensity, she had been assigned by the principal to bring him into her class. "Okay, come in and introduce yourself."

For Broly, school was a new and exciting experience. He walked into the classroom at the teacher's invitation, stood at the podium, and introduced himself.

"My name is Broly, and I'm a Saiyan."

His honest introduction left the second graders stunned.

"What's a Saiyan?" a little boy raised his hand and asked.

"He's so weird," a girl in the back row whispered to her desk mate.

"Weird?" Toosaka Rin replied, thinking boys often acted like this. During breaks, some played games about aliens fighting monsters.

"Everyone's very enthusiastic, but it's time for class. Let's focus on classroom discipline," the teacher said, preparing to assign Broly a seat.

Before she could decide, Broly noticed a girl in the back row.

*[Found a target that can be conquered: Rin Tohsaka, current happiness value is 0.]*

*(Note: Happiness value can only be gained after the host intervenes in the target's life.)*

"Teacher, I want to sit there," Broly said, pointing to the empty seat next to Rin Tohsaka.

"Okay, move the empty desk and chair over there," the teacher replied.

The principal had advised her to be patient with this student, so she didn't object.

*[Back row by the window, the hometown of the king!]* Broly thought as he moved the desk and sat down.

"He doesn't have a book yet, Tohsaka. Can you share your textbook with him for now?" the teacher asked.

Rin Tohsaka, the class monitor, was more mature and capable than most kids her age. "Okay, teacher," she replied.

Young Rin wasn't yet the refined figure she'd become. At seven, she was cheerful, enthusiastic, and eager to help, thanks to her father's calm and elegant upbringing.

"Hi, I'm Rin Tohsaka. You can call me Tohsaka," she said, sliding her desk closer and placing the book between them, keeping her voice low.

"Hi, Tohsaka. I'm Broly," he replied.

Thanks to a gentlemanly lesson from someone the day before, Broly avoided rudely calling her his "wife."

"You said that already, up on the podium. You're a Saiyan, right? If you can eat a plate of boiled green peppers without flinching, I'll believe you," Rin teased with a smile.

"Boiled green peppers? Are they good?" Broly asked, his interest piqued. He loved food.

"They're not good. They're bitter," Rin answered seriously. Her mother once made her eat boiled peppers, saying mature adults could handle them.

Broly frowned. "…" He didn't like bitter things and lost interest.

"Let's review multiplication in this class and see how everyone's doing," the teacher began.

Broly raised his hand. "Teacher, what's multiplication?"

"You haven't learned it?" a boy turned and asked.

Broly shook his head. "I just learned addition and subtraction today."

"Haha, you're a first-grader!" the boy laughed.

"Shinjo, did I teach you to mock others?" the teacher scolded.

"Broly is new to our school, so it's normal if he's behind. Tohsaka, our class monitor and study committee member, can help you with any questions," she added.

"I can teach you!" Rin said enthusiastically, eager to help the new student catch up.

"So, what's multiplication?" Broly asked without hesitation.

"Multiplication is finding the sum of several identical numbers. If you know addition, it's not hard," Rin explained quietly, teaching him second-grade math.

Unlike in first grade, where Broly's questions and aura overwhelmed everyone, he now sat calmly in the corner, listening to Rin. The class passed quickly.

"How is he, Ms. Kawasaki? Is that kid tough to handle?" some first-grade teachers asked the second-grade teacher after school.

"Not at all. He was very well-behaved," Ms. Kawasaki replied, puzzled.

Broly didn't act hyper like some naughty kids.

"Didn't he ask you questions?" a first-grade teacher pressed.

"Yes, what's wrong?"

"Could you answer them?"

Ms. Kawasaki grew more confused. Were there elementary school questions teachers couldn't answer?

"You couldn't answer them?" she asked cautiously.

"He's too much. Some of his questions are unanswerable," a first-grade teacher admitted.

"Well, I couldn't answer all of them either, but I asked my class monitor, a reliable student, to help," Ms. Kawasaki said thoughtfully.

"Is that okay?" the first-grade teachers exchanged glances.

"Maybe kids understand kids better," they concluded after some discussion.

That evening, Fujimura Taiga visited Broly at the Fujimura household. "How was school today?" she asked.

"It was great. I asked the teacher lots of questions, learned to write five characters, and studied addition, subtraction, and multiplication. I feel smarter," Broly answered honestly. Before today, he didn't even know what arithmetic was.

"Not bad! I knew you were a smart kid," Taiga praised warmly.

"Oh, and I met a new wife," Broly added.

"Huh?" Taiga froze, then realized what he meant and relaxed. "Did this 'new wife' give you anything to eat?"

"No, she didn't," Broly said, shaking his head. "But she taught me multiplication."

"Uh… well…" Taiga stammered, processing this. "You've found a good friend. Get along with her and make friends, okay?"

There's a saying: "Good company brings good habits." Taiga saw Broly as a little brother and hoped he'd make friends with studious kids.

"Yeah," Broly nodded, taking her words to heart.

Even without Taiga's advice, he planned to get along with his "new wife." After all, building her happiness value could earn him points to exchange for food back on Wampa Star.

---

Three days before Broly's return to Wampa Star, Einzbern Castle on the outskirts of Fuyuki City was attacked.

The attackers were the Caster group, marked as "prey" by the Command Seal's bounty that morning. Their reckless kidnapping and killing of children, without hiding their crimes, pushed the priest of Fuyuki City's Cathedral Church, a neutral party in the Holy Grail War, to label them the first target for elimination.

The Cathedral Church mediated the Holy Grail War to address this.

Besides Caster, the Clock Tower Lord, Kenneth El-Melloi, who survived Kiritsugu Emiya's explosion the previous night, also attacked the castle with his servants, seeking revenge.

That night, Einzbern Castle was a chaotic battlefield. Kenneth, careless and underestimating his enemy, was hit by Kiritsugu's Origin Bullet, which destroyed most of his magic circuits.

During the fight, two chivalrous servants fought side by side, bonding over shared values. Yet each undermined their own master: one didn't seize the chance to restrain the enemy, letting their master be killed, while the other saved their injured master but spared the nearby enemy master.

Compared to the strength of servants, masters were fragile. As a ruthless magician killer, Emiya Kiritsugu couldn't understand his servant Saber's actions or the enemy servant Lancer's chivalry. He simply couldn't grasp the heroic spirits' old-world values.

At the Zenjo family villa near Fuyuki City, Rin Tohsaka shared her school day with her sister, Sakura. "Sakura, there was a weird kid in our class today," she said.

Sakura listened eagerly, swinging her feet as she sat. After returning to her parents from the Matou family, her wounded heart was healing. She now cherished every moment with her family, and her happiness value kept rising.

Broly, lying in bed at the Fujimura guest room, felt a surge of joy watching this. It was like an investor seeing their stocks soar. One happiness value point equaled 100 happiness points, and in the Crystal Palace, his favorite "happy water" drink cost only two points.

Sakura's skyrocketing happiness value fueled Broly's fantasy of drinking endless happy water back on Wampa Star. Besides happy water, he loved cakes, pork chop rice bowls, pudding, barbecue, and ice cream—all costing 30 points or less, well within reach.

"When I go back, I'll let Dad try this world's food," Broly mumbled to himself.

"Did Rin make new friends at school? That's something to celebrate. Come, I've peeled apples for you," their mother, Zenjo Aoi, called, bringing sliced apples.

"This one's the biggest, Sakura," Rin said, giving her sister the best piece, cherishing her even more since her return.

"Thank you, sister," Sakura said, feeling warm inside. Her parents and sister treated her so well now. She'd once feared they wouldn't want her back, but those worries were unfounded.

"By the way, Sakura, did you make friends at the Matou family? Were there happy moments there?" Aoi asked gently.

Sakura's happy expression froze. The Matou family was a nightmare. Despite two people there caring for her, the horrors of the basement insect warehouse were memories she never wanted to revisit.
