[U.A. Campus, Afternoon – Class 1-A]
The classroom was in its usual rhythm: noisy, lively, a mix of voices and laughter as some students still talked about the results of the aptitude tests.
Then the door swung open with a sharp thud.
Aizawa-sensei walked in, as always, with a sleepy expression and his sleeping bag slung over his shoulder.
"Silence," he said, his voice low and lethal. Everyone immediately went quiet.
He picked up a remote and pointed it at the screen. An image of U.A.'s national stadium appeared.
"In one week, you will participate in the U.A. Sports Festival," he announced. "One of the most-watched events in Japan. A unique opportunity to stand out… or disappear. Pro hero agencies will be watching. So train. And show up ready."
The silence shattered like glass. Uraraka jumped in excitement, Kaminari let out an exaggerated yell, and Bakugou muttered something like "I'll crush all of you."
I just took a deep breath.
'The festival… this is where everything changes for many of them. And now... I'm on the board too.'
[Training Area – U.A.'s Artificial Forest]
I was training with Kirishima and Mina Ashido in the outdoor obstacle course.
"Go, Ben !" Mina shouted, dodging between concrete pillars with agility. "You're fast, but what if you tried that form… the fast monster one ?"
"XLR8 ?" I grinned. "Be right back."
Green light. Transformation. The high-pitched sound of wheels echoed, and in seconds, I dashed across the field, circling Mina and Kirishima before stopping beside them.
"Okay, okay ! THAT was fast !" Kirishima shouted, pumped.
"But I want to test something else." I returned to normal, panting a bit. "Wildmutt, your turn."
I activated the feral canine alien, running on all fours. I climbed columns with claws, sniffed out alternate paths, dug my paws into a wall, and launched myself onto a target robot.
"Whoa... that jump strength…" murmured Kirishima. "That's pretty hardcore !"
I returned to normal, sweating.
'I need to test Grey Matter. The brain can be a weapon too…'
With a flash, my body shrank into the small form with big eyes and gray skin. I ran to a training security panel and, in less than five seconds, reprogrammed the obstacles into even harder routes.
"Wait… did you just hack the training system ?" Mina stood there, jaw dropped.
"I didn't hack it... I optimized it."
Back in my human form, I was panting but smiling.
"You guys need to push your limits too. This festival isn't just about power. It's about overcoming."
Mina and Kirishima looked at each other. Kirishima clenched his fist.
"Alright. I'll train till my skin cracks if I have to !"
"And I'll dance fire on ice if needed !" Mina added, laughing.
[Later, in the Field – Sunset]
The sky was orange now. Shadows stretched between the trees of the testing sector.
I stood alone. Breathing deeply.
'I need to understand these powers better. There's something inside me I don't know yet…'
I activated Grey Matter again and tried to link with the U.A. data systems, but a sudden tingle ran up my spine.
My eyes lit up a bright green. A pulse of energy ran through my body.
Mina and Kirishima were returning with water bottles when they saw the light.
"Ben ? Your eyes are..." Mina took a step back. "Glowing ?!"
Before anyone could react, a cold metallic voice echoed in my mind:
"Adaptation achieved. Transformation eleven unlocked."
"What…?!" I grabbed my chest.
My body was engulfed in green light. But this time… it was different.
The transformation pattern was wild. The sound that followed was more like a distorted synth-howl. The ground around me trembled slightly. And then, in front of everyone…
I transformed into something new.
My skin was now a deep blue-gray, with lighter markings across my chest and face. My claws were sharp like steel blades, and my arms… pure animal strength. Long, powerful, with muscles that pulsed under the skin.
Two lupine ears stuck out from my head, and my snout was narrow, with ivory-colored teeth curving out of my mouth. My tail swayed with predatory instinct, and my eyes… my eyes burned with green light as if they could pierce the dark.
But the wildest part ?
I inhaled — and the air around me vibrated with sound.
I could feel it. Manipulate it. And then, as if it was the most natural thing in the world… I howled.
The entire field trembled. The sound of my howl shattered the forest's silence like an acoustic bomb. Mina hit the ground. Kirishima stumbled back.
It felt like every cell in my body was made to hunt in the dark.
I was Blitzwolfer. Wild. Unstoppable. Alive.
"Whoa… this one's new, and awesome !" Mina said, excited.
"For real, dude. What are you gonna call it ?" Kirishima asked, inspecting me up close.
With a smile, I said:
"Blitzwolfer."
The sun was starting to dip behind the U.A. buildings, painting the sky in orange as the three of us entered the reinforced concrete arena. Mina was stretching her shoulders, restless, and Kirishima was already cracking his knuckles with that confident grin.
"So this is it ? Let's see what your werewolf can really do ?" Kirishima teased, arms crossed.
"We'll go easy, right ?" Mina joked, winking. "Unless he tries to bite me."
I grinned.
"Oh, no promises. But if someone throws me a tennis ball... I might go for it."
They laughed, and I transformed.
Green light. Pulse of energy. A metallic howl ripped the air.
My body expanded, muscles snapping, fur growing thick. Lupine ears up, green eyes glowing, curved teeth flashing under the fading sky.
Blitzwolfer was back.
And hungry for action.
"So… who wants to be the first to get stylishly clawed ?" I growled with a crooked smirk.
Mina moved first, sliding across the floor, releasing a wave of pink acid that sizzled everything in its path. Kirishima came in right after, his skin already hardened into red stone.
"Direct attack combo. Interesting…" I muttered before leaping six meters into the air and landing behind them.
"Hey, Kirishima ! Your skin's more cracked than my bathroom wall !"
He laughed, spinning into a punch. "Bold words from a guy who looks like he escaped a Scooby-Doo musical !"
I ducked and dodged, then fired a sonic blast from my throat.
WAAAUUUMM !!
The soundwave hit Kirishima like an invisible truck, pushing him back, his feet scraping the ground. Mina had to cover her ears with a scream.
"Wow ! That hurts more than hearing Bakugou complain about Midoriya !" she yelled as i dashed at her, using my tail to spin in midair and attempt a roundhouse kick.
I barely missed. Her acid trail singed my fur slightly.
"You smell like wet dog !" Mina shot back, grinning.
"Oh, that's just my 'Alpha Jungle: Limited Edition' cologne. Not a fan of the natural style ?"
Mina tried to slide again, but I was already above her. I used my claws to scale the wall and ricocheted back, slamming my palm into the ground with a sonic pulse.
BOOM!
The shockwave launched both of them into the air.
Kirishima recovered midair, spinning and aiming a punch straight at my chest. I caught it with both hands — the impact was brutal, but Blitzwolfer held strong.
"Ugh… do you eat cement for breakfast ?" I grunted, pushing him back.
"Just protein and willpower, baby !" he replied, laughing and coming at me again.
This time, I dove beneath him and grabbed his ankles with my tail. I spun, lifted, and bam ! — tossed him gently into a pile of sandbags.
"First takedown of the day ! Two points for the sexy werewolf !" I declared, panting slightly.
Mina seized the moment and came from above, flinging acid in a sphere shape. I rolled aside and fired another sonic blast — but she was fast, blocking it with a hardened acid shield.
"Smart…" I muttered. "But not fast enough."
I tuned into my enhanced senses. I heard her footsteps vibrate before she even leapt.
I moved on instinct, bounced off a wall, and began sprinting in circles around them — generating a swirling sonic vortex that started disorienting them both.
"Is the world spinning, or is it just me ?" Kirishima yelled, wobbling.
"Oh no… if I keep spinning, I'll puke acid !" Mina groaned.
I took the chance. Leapt right into the middle of the vortex, landing between them, green eyes glowing.
They froze.
I made a wolfish face, fangs glinting, and said:
"Boo."
They dropped, laughing and panting.
I deactivated with a green flash and flopped onto my back, sweaty but grinning.
"Okay… Blitzwolfer is officially terrifying," Kirishima laughed, hands on his head.
"And way too loud !" Mina rolled onto her side, still dizzy. " Next time, I'm bringing earplugs."
"Only if I don't howl loud enough to blow them up too," I joked.
The three of us lay there on the training arena floor, staring at the darkening sky. The evening breeze carried the scent of dirt, sweat, and… maybe a hint of singed fur.
