Chapter 33 - Bonus Chapter: True loved

In a place built on dreams—Downtown Disney where laughter echoed through the air and magic clung to every light, a young man walked alone among the crowds. He wore simple clothes, his-streaked black hair tousled by the wind. He was in his early twenties, eyes tired but curious. For once, he let himself enjoy what he never had as a child.

Then, fate intervened.

He bumped into her—by accident, or perhaps destiny. A girl with dark flowing hair, Light brown skin, and eyes like burning embers. They both froze, their hearts racing in sync.

"Sorry," he said, rubbing the back of his neck. She laughed nervously.

They talked. And talked. Something clicked. That same night, he took her to a little restaurant tucked away from the noise. Between bites of food and stolen glances, they traded stories—half-truths wrapped in smiles. He never mentioned the beast inside him. And She never said she came from a family of hunters .

But beneath the stars, they kissed. A werewolf and a huntress—an impossible pairing. And yet, love bloomed.

They tried to keep their worlds apart—for a while.

But love, as always, found a way.

They married. Against all odds. His love for her burned so fiercely, even the ancient pendant he wore—a relic of his bloodline—recognized her. It allowed her to carry it, to share his burden.

They had two children: a son and a daughter. For a time, they lived in joy. Laughter filled the house. Stories were told. Monsters forgotten. Magic became bedtime tales.

Until it all came undone.

One night, in the quiet, he was betrayed by the one he once called brother—his best friend. A dagger pierced his chest. A vampire's hand held the blade.

He looked up at the one who had betrayed him. Tears welled in his eyes, not from pain, but sorrow.

"I forgive you," he whispered.

And then he fell.

Not as a monster. Not as a warrior.

But as a man who had loved deeply—and lost everything.

His body stilled, and his soul, like a gentle wind, drifted into the night.

All these memories flashed through Iván's mind as he lay on the ground, the moon pendant glowing softly against his chest. It showed him glimpses of his father's life—his love, his pain—but always returned to the same two faces: his father and his mother.

Through it all, the pendant revealed one undeniable truth—his father had never held hatred in his heart. Not even for the one who had betrayed him. He had died with love still burning inside him, choosing forgiveness over vengeance.

Iván's breath caught as understanding settled in. One day, he knew they would meet again. But that day was not today.

The pendant gave a soft, steady hum.

Iván smiled faintly.

"I hope… one day I find a love like that," he whispered.
