Chapter 13 - Instructor Aurora

"You can say that your older brother was a dear friend of mine."

During his childhood, Dorian often wondered about his family, were his parents dead? Or was he abandoned? Did he have any siblings somewhere in this world?

But as he grew up without getting any answers, he convinced himself that he'd never know. That he'd just have to survive on his own.

Therefore, it came as a shock when a mysterious stranger talked of his family, which until recently Dorian believed didn't exist.

It felt strange when Nox mentioned that the last King of Nephtis, Dorian's father, had perished. A father, someone he'd never met and now, will never get to meet. The questions he wanted to ask in his childhood, will now always remain unanswered.

And now Nox mentioned his older brother? How many more siblings does he have? And what about his mother? Dorian wanted to ask a thousand questions at once but he knew that he couldn't get all the answers now. He told himself that once he got to Nephtis, he would be able to find all the information on his own.

"Was a friend?" he asked Nox, "Is he dead as well?"

Dorian expected a lengthy explanation, but Nox answered with a simple, "Yes."

After a few moments, Nox continued, "Although you have many powerful enemies, you must keep in mind Dorian, that you have allies too. And speaking of allies, she is here."

As he said that, the door opened and a blond haired woman came in, wearing a blue and white dress. She looked to be in her late twenties, her eyes were like shining sapphires even in the dark room. She was easily the most beautiful woman Dorian had ever seen in his life.

The moment she came in the room and her eyes fell on Dorian, she did an extremely odd thing, she smiled. Why would she smile at him?

Was this an Awakener thing? People are not supposed to smile at strangers, right? At least they didn't where Dorian came from, at best they frowned. Despite his confusion, Dorian felt a curious warmth in his heart.

"Um..Nice to meet you." he hesitated.

"Is that him? Thats him right? Aw you're such a sweetheart, and so polite too, Prince Dorian. I am so sorry you had to be stuck with mister grumpy here for so long." she said in a very cheerful voice.

It seemed like she had a very bubbly personality. There was such a startling contrast between the mannerisms of these two people that Dorian found it difficult to believe that they were associates. It was like comparing sunshine to a dark rainy day.

As he was wondering that, a very strange thought crossed his mind, 'I bet it would've hurt much less if she did the forced awakening.'

"Aurora is an instructor at the Academy of Awakeners. She will take you to Nephtis and help you with the enrollment process." Nox continued, completely ignoring her.

"Why can't you take me there?" Dorian expressed his confusion.

But before Nox could answer, he got interrupted by a very cheerful voice,

"He probably has a brooding session scheduled in some dark corner of-".
