Chapter 6 - Chapter 6: The Two Little Ones Are Sick

"And you are...?" Su Xingwan asked with a polite smile.

Tang Muya was stunned for a moment.

Then she thought it was normal for her not to remember her.

"I'm Tang Muya."

Su Xingwan looked at her, smiled again, still not recognizing her, but out of politeness, she said.

"What a coincidence."

Tang Muya said indifferently, "Quite a coincidence indeed. What are you doing here?"

Su Xingwan: "Ah, I'm taking these two for a walk."

Tang Muya looked at the two kids beside her and felt a bit surprised: "Are these your kids?"

Su Xingwan shook her head, "No, these are my sister's kids."

"...Oh."

Tang Muya's long response didn't reveal if she believed her.

"...Are you having a hard time lately?"

Su Xingwan nodded, "Yes."

Then, Tang Muya sent her a red envelope.

Su Xingwan felt surprised, this person didn't look like she was very familiar with the original owner.

"...Thank you."

In the past, Su Xingwan would never have taken someone's money for nothing.

But now, she had no job, no income, and was taking care of two kids, and she was really short on money.

She thought she'd treat this money as a loan from Tang Muya and pay her back when she had money.

Tang Muya said calmly, "No need to thank me. Consider it a meeting gift for the two kids."

She never had much interaction with Su Xingwan, the only time being at a banquet where she almost fell, and she helped steady her.

However, her attitude was not particularly nice, so she wasn't very grateful to her.

But she had heard from others that those who knew her didn't speak well of her, so she hadn't interacted with her.

Today, she came across her while shopping, saw her talking with Wu Qian and others, and said hello out of courtesy.

But after chatting with her for a few sentences, she found that she didn't quite match Wu Qian and Zhang Qiaoqiao's descriptions.

Tang Muya looked at the shabby coats on the two kids and said, "Su Xingwan, if you don't want others to know you have kids, you should do a better job of keeping it a secret."

She knew Su Xingwan mingled with the upper class and wanted to become a big star.

If others found out, her stardom dreams would be dashed.

Su Xingwan was dumbfounded; did she misunderstand something?

Before Tang Muya left, she glanced at the two kids, "They're quite cute."

The two kids looked at this aunt and smiled.

Su Xingwan was surprised by the different attitudes the kids had toward Wu Qian and Tang Muya.

She asked them, "Do you like this aunt?"

Little Su Hua tilted her head, "She's okay."

Su Xingwan: "What do you mean by okay?"

Little Su Hua: "This aunt looks cold, but she gave you money."

Little Su Luo nodded along.

Su Xingwan was surprised by what she heard.

These two, not even three years old, already knew which aunt was better.

She sighed: [No wonder they're the genius babies in a CEO novel; so young and already so smart, able to read people's expressions like this.]

"Let's go! We're going home!" Su Xingwan smiled and held their hands.

At home, Su Xingwan let them play in the living room while she went to the kitchen to make noodles.

Little Su Hua, seeing that the aunt had gone in, whispered, "Brother, what's a CEO novel?"

Little Su Luo scratched his head, "I don't know either."

Little Su Hua sat on the carpet, counting her fingers, "One, two, three..."

Little Su Luo: "What are you doing?"

Little Su Hua: "Just now, the aunt said we're in a CEO novel, like three babies from the sky, but we don't have a dad?"

Little Su Luo scratched his head, not quite understanding what his sister said.

"Yummy noodles coming up!" Su Xingwan came out with a big bowl of noodles.

The two little ones immediately forgot what they were thinking about and ran over.

Su Xingwan said, "Go wash your hands first."

Then the two little ones quickly ran to the bathroom, washed their little hands, and came back out.

Su Xingwan checked, and their little hands were still very clean.

"Hmm, nice and clean. Come eat the noodles then."

Then the two little ones happily sat at the table; compared to their attitude toward her yesterday, today they were obviously more at ease.

Su Xingwan took out two baby bowls and served each of them a bowl of steaming noodles.

Little Su Hua couldn't wait and slurped a noodle: "So yummy!"

Little Su Luo also expressed satisfaction, "As good as a cupcake!"

Little Su Hua put on a serious face like a little adult and said righteously, "I think cupcakes are still better, but auntie's noodles are good too!"

Little Su Luo agreed with a few "uh-huhs" and quickly finished his bowl.

Su Xingwan looked at them and smiled, reaching out to rub their fluffy little heads.

At night, when Su Xingwan saw there was no air conditioning in the kids' room, she said, "You can sleep in my room tonight."

The two little ones lifted their heads in surprise.

Was the aunt going to let their dirty selves sleep in her bed?

Before they could say anything, Su Xingwan had already carried them into her bedroom.

Her bedroom already had the warm air conditioning on, and as soon as the two little ones went in, they felt warm and soon took off their down jackets.

So comfortable!

The two little ones happily rolled around in the aunt's bed; it even smelled nice, like the aunt.

Su Xingwan watching them so happy, she felt happy too.

She thought, once she had money, she would install air conditioning in the kids' room and replace their not-so-warm quilt.

In such harsh living conditions, the two little ones had grown up so resiliently, she was already very impressed.

Su Xingwan turned off the lights, and after a while.

Little Su Hua, hiding under the covers, whispered, "...Brother, I feel like the Bad Aunt really has changed this time."

Little Su Luo remained silent.

He didn't understand.

His little head couldn't grasp so many things.

He knew his sister had a mind-reading superpower and could tell who was good or bad.

"Are you sure the Bad Aunt has really changed this time?"

Little Su Hua nodded, "Sure, I haven't heard the aunt scold us anymore."

Su Xingwan, who wasn't sleeping yet: "..."

These two little radishes were conspiring right in front of her again.

Late at night, Su Xingwan, half asleep, felt two soft and heavy lumps pressing on her chest, almost making it hard to breathe.

She was used to sleeping alone; in her past life, she was always by herself, so sleeping with the two little ones was indeed something she wasn't used to.

She reached out to get the two little ones off her.

Instead, she touched a warm little head.

Su Xingwan instantly felt alert, quickly got up from the bed, and turned on the small night light beside the bed.

She touched the foreheads of the two little ones again.

They both had a fever...
