The car ride home was silent, the tension palpable. Ryurik's words kept echoing in my mind, "Things are complex right now, Emily, just trust Aleksandr, please." He seemed sincere, but I couldn't shake off the feeling that something wasn't right.
How could I just trust someone I just met, someone whose tongue was shoved down my throat, treating me like I was so special and like the fool I was I soaked up to every bit of the attention and care.
Uhhhh, fuckkkkk, he made me breakfast, and , and…. Uhhhh, all for him to be married, now here is Ryurik asking me to trust him.
How do I do that? Alek didn't say a word, he didn't deny Natalia's claims, however after all of that here am I considered trusting him.
Someone I just met, convincing myself there is more to the situation even though I'm so hurt.
As we pulled up to my place, Ryurik turned to me, his eyes pleading. "Promise me you'll trust him, Emily. Give Aleksandr a chance to explain." I looked at him, unsure of what to say.
"Promise me," he repeated, his voice soft but urgent.
I hesitated, then shook my head. "I don't know if I can promise that," I said, my voice firm. "For all I know, I don't even know who you guys are.
I just met you. And the way Aleksandr reacted... he didn't say a word. And now you're not disputing that he's married?" I raised an eyebrow. "What exactly am I supposed to trust?"
Ryurik's expression was solemn, but I could see the desperation in his eyes. I took a deep breath and opened the door.
"I think it's time for me to go," I said, my voice polite but distant.
"Goodbye, Ryurik," I said, cutting him off.
Thank you so much for the tampons and for dropping me home I really appreciate and how do I give Alek his shirt.
He will come for it , Ryurik said. I turn and grabbed the door handle about to open it when I felt Ryurik's grab my wrist.
Before I could turn to him, he placed a soft kiss on my cheek and then said take care of yourself princess.
I gave me a soft smile and then stepped out of the car and closed the door behind me, the cold afternoon breeze enveloping me as I watched Ryurik drive away.
As I walked into the apartment, my face hung low, disappointment etched on every feature. I trudged towards the sitting room, my eyes cast down.
That's when I saw Sophie, pacing back and forth like a caged animal. Her agitation was palpable, her feet moved swiftly, her hands gestured wildly, and her eyes darted around the room.
As soon as she spotted me, Sophie pounced on me, wrapping me in a tight hug. "Oh, I missed you so much!" she exclaimed, her voice trembling with emotion.
"Where were you? Don't ever do this to me again! I didn't know what happened, and I was worried sick." She pulled back, her eyes scanning my face. "What happened? You scared me."
Sophie's words tumbled out in a rapid-fire sequence, her relief at seeing me mingling with her earlier agitation. I stood there, frozen, as she held me tightly, her warmth and concern enveloping me.
"I'm so sorry for making you worried, Sophie," I said, taking a deep breath. "It was never my intention to scare you."
Sophie's grip on me tightened. It okay love don't look so gloomy, I was worried but I feel a lot better now that you are here.
Did anything happen to you, she asked while spinning me around and observing carefully for any injuries at all.
I'm okay Sophie, I'm serious, I'm fine i said taking her hand and pulling her to the sofa.
Then why the long face, tell me what happened, I want to know everything.
I hesitated, then began to recount the events of the evening. "I was on my way home from work when some men came out of nowhere and attacked me.
I was panicking, didn't know what to do. They had me surrounded, and I thought... I thought it was over."
Sophie's eyes widened in horror. "Oh my god, Emily!"
I took a deep breath and continued. "But then, a black car stopped, and this charming gentleman came out. He rescued me, drove me to his house, and gave me a room to stay.
His name is Aleksandr, and... he's been really kind to me."
Sophie's face lit up. "Wow, that's amazing! And he made breakfast for you this morning?"
I nodded, feeling a pang of guilt. "Yeah, he did. He's been really nice."
Sophie's excitement was palpable. "Oh, Emily, I'm so happy for you! I'm so grateful that Aleksandr saved you. But..." She paused, her eyes narrowing.
"Why do you still look so down? What's wrong?" and just that why does it seem like you are not telling me everything.
I sighed, feeling a mix of emotions. "It's just... things are complicated, Sophie. There's more to the story than just the rescue."
That I can tell from this sour face you have on, Sophie looked at me with concern. "Okay love, you can always talk to me. What happened? Why the do you look like a drowned cat?"
I let out a heavy sigh, hesitant to share my story.
Before I could speak, Sophie asked, "Is he the one that dropped you? I saw the car from the window."
I shook my head. "No, that's not him. That's a different person, Ryurik."
Sophie's expression turned confused. "What happened? Who is Ryurik?"
I took a deep breath. "Ryurik is the one who dropped me off. I didn't ask much about him, just his name."
Sophie's curiosity was piqued. "So, what happened? Why are you sad?"
I hesitated, then revealed, "It turns out my savior, Aleksandr, is actually married."
Not only that, blushing furiously i add, I kissed him, I say.
You did what? Sophie asks, her lower jaw almost at her knees.
I pecked him, I said correcting myself, and let out a sigh of relief.
That's not all I add, she then pals her face, go on you little slit she adds.
Ehmmmmm…Ehmmmmm so… Ehmmmm rambling in ine go I say.
I saw Ryurik's dick it's so huge and Alek kissed me until I nearly passed out.
Sophie's eyes widened, her head turning like she was possessed ."Girl you say what.", she said shrieking.
She looked at me, puzzled. "Omg, girl it's not even been up to twenty four hours?
Please Sophie, please, I pleaded. Okay let's focus, she said taking in a deep breath.
Why did he rescue you, take you to his house, and make you breakfast? I don't get it?
I don't mean why did he rescue you, sheeesh thank goodness he did, but why take you home, make breakfast and all?
He could have just brought you home.
I shook my head, feeling just as confused. "I don't know, Sophie. I don't understand either."
Sophie's expression turned thoughtful. "And Ryurik asked you to trust him, but he wouldn't tell you what's going on?"
I nodded, feeling a mix of emotions. "Yeah, he said it's Alexander's place to tell. But Alexander hasn't confirmed or denied anything."
I hung my head down, feeling sad and disappointed. Sophie wrapped her arms around me, pulling me into a hug.
"Hey, it's okay. You're going to be fine. Look at, you discovered this early on, and maybe there's more to the story than what meets the eye."
Sophie's voice was soothing, and her words offered a glimmer of hope. "Maybe you should give him the benefit of the doubt. There might be more to him than just being married."
As Sophie tried to comfort me, telling me that maybe there was more to Alexander's story than met the eye, and that I should trust him, my phone suddenly brightened, catching our attention.
I picked it up, checking the notification, and saw that it was a message from Rachel.
The message read: "Hi Emily, I'm sorry for not reaching out earlier. Things have been chaotic, but I'm settling down now.
I just wanted to let you know that I've arrived at my Godmother's place and I'm seeing a therapist and psychiatrist.
It's not been easy, but I believe it will get easier. Thank you for everything you did for me. Hope you're doing well, and Sophie too.
I'll try to reach out more often. Love you both, take care of yourselves."
I quickly showed the message to Sophie, saying, "It's from Rachel." Sophie moved closer, and we huddled together to read the message again.
Sophie's face lit up with a smile. "I'm so happy Rachel is finally seeking help. I'm so glad she's getting better. I pray everything works out for her."
I nodded in agreement. "I pray so too."
