Chapter 3 - Prologue: [Age of Wonders]

O bright Fire, leave me not alone lest I be devoured. - Age of Wonders Poem

...

Prosperity.

What would define an age of prosperity?

Is it the happy people? The advancement of technology?

Prosperity in this age is of limitless possibilities and resources.

After the first age ended and the [Source Fire] was lit, a new age dawned like never before.

Lead by the first and greatest 'wonder'; the [Source Fire].

When Gore, the forgotten, attempted to create a solid sefirot on his own, he only partially succeeded.

The 'first flame' he tried to recreate in this universe was not a full sefirot. It was connected to the 'source' directly, but never able to complete. It constantly pulled source into its flame like gasoline on a flame. This source is the very essence that makes up characteristics of the outer gods. It is the material building blocks of the universe.

And this material was constantly flooding this unstable Sefirot. Attempting to complete it, but never being able to.

This is the [Source Fire].

Anyone who ever sees this fire first hand will admit there is nothing more beautiful in this world.

The [Source Fire] was not left alone for long. It quickly became coveted by all creatures and even the outer gods. But the fire could not be moved or interacted with. The greedy could only remain helpless as the outer god's servants built a large temple around it.

What was so special about this [Source Fire] that could make even the outer gods interested?

A flood of source.

Any characteristic formed from the outer gods could be 'replicated' by placing it within the [Source Fire]. Resource scarcity was a thing of the passed and even the way of life changed for the outer gods.

Why should they devour each other's source when they only need to duplicated and increase their own characteristics in the [Source Fire]?

And so, the smarter outer gods realized this opportunity.

Using the 'safe passage', provided through the barrier of the [Almighty], they lead the civilizations they controlled to this world.

The [Source Fire] was a passage itself.

One by one, strange creatures from the depths of the universe traveled and worshiped the [Source Fire].

And as they emerged the [Source Fire], they would look change to become more humanoid. A vague imitation of the Pygmy's form. Deep within, their souls had also changed. The [Source Fire] automatically adding a part of the Dark Soul of the pygmy to them.

These creatures, blessed by the [Source Fire], were filled with sanity and reason. They were much more resistant to the pollution of the outer gods.

Countless creatures passed into this world, surrounding the [Source Fire] as if it was the only warmth in this universe.

No matter how many characteristics it duplicated nor how many creatures it blessed, the fire never weakened from exhaustion.

After hundreds of years, the once delicate balance formed by the outer gods interests was broken.

The creatures they once ruled rebelled against them.

They took the characteristics of their benefactors for their own.

Countless creations and wonders arose from this. The [Source Fire] was a fuel for endless creativity.

These creatures were makes of dimensions, craftsmen of the laws, makers of life.

But this age would not last forever.

After thousands of years, someone noticed. The [Source Fire] was not as big as before.

Subtle panic followed after this as that guess was confirmed; The [Source Fire] was slowly going out.

The countless creatures who once benefited from the [Source Fire] and abandoned their gods tried everything they could to add fuel to the fire. Nothing worked.

They concluded: The [Source Fire] would end and it was unstoppable.

Now knowing their time was limited, everyone was in a hurry. More and more plans were made to prepare for the death of the fire. Shelters to hide from the outer gods they betrayed.

They took full advantage of the remaining time to duplicate as many characteristics as possible. Filling the treasuries of their respective peoples.

Many even refused to stay on the same planet, knowing it had been watched by the outer gods for so many years.

The civilizations left, one by one.

All that was left to remember they remained were the ruins on the earth.

Only a few truly remained.

Time passed until.

The [Source Fire] went out.
