"Just once tonight?" Jiang Chen laughed. "With how gorgeous you are, once a day isn't enough—I want two or even three times a day."
His teasing words made Wen-xian feel like he was already lying on top of her, loving her with everything he had. Her whole body tingled as she blushed and murmured, "As many times as you want... Sister Wen is yours, however much you need me."
"Deal!" Jiang Chen grinned and reached for a bottle of champagne.
Pop!
The cork flew with a crisp snap, foam bubbling over.
He poured two glasses and handed one to Wen-xian. "To my dearest wife—cheers to our good fortune."
Wen-xian's cheeks turned pink as her smile bloomed like a flower. She clinked glasses with him and downed it in one go, then leaned against his shoulder with pride in her eyes. "My husband is amazing! Some people don't make half a million in their whole lives!"
"It's not me, it's you." Jiang Chen wrapped an arm around her waist, his gaze full of tenderness. "Without your yin energy helping me cultivate last night, I wouldn't have had the strength to knock that thug flying."
"So I'm your magic elixir now?" Wen-xian giggled, tracing circles on his chest with her finger.
"You're my ultimate treasure." Jiang Chen planted a kiss on her forehead, then another on her earlobe.
Wen-xian slipped a hand to her collar and unfastened the top button, whispering, "If you're gonna kiss, kiss where it counts. I'm feeling all tingly. I need you to do some real work…"
Jiang Chen lowered his head and began kissing her more deeply.
They flirted and played for a long while before finally calming down.
Jiang Chen pulled Wen-xian into his arms and let her rest on his lap as he gently buttoned her blouse. "Now that we've got money, how about we start planning that house?"
"Of course!" Wen-xian's eyes lit up. She pushed his hands away again, unfastening her blouse once more. "But finish kissing me first."
"I want to build something big—two stories above ground, one below. What do you think?" Jiang Chen asked as he kissed her neck.
"Sounds great! First floor for a clinic, second floor for our home, and the basement for storage."
"Actually, I don't want the clinic downstairs. Too much foot traffic—it'd mess with our private life. I'd rather renovate the current one, maybe even expand it."
"Okay, whatever you say. But I want a rooftop terrace too. We can grow flowers, raise a couple of cats… And every time we sunbathe, I want to lie in your arms while you kiss me for a full hour."
"Until you melt in my arms…"
Their plans grew more elaborate, and their excitement soared.
"Construction's paused today," Jiang Chen said. "Let's not waste the day cooped up in the hotel. Come on, I'll take you out."
"Where to?"
"You've never ridden a Ferris wheel, have you?"
"Never! You're really taking me?"
"It'll be fun. Let's go."
Wen-xian stood up, neatened her hair, and wiped off the love bites all over her chest and face in the mirror. After buttoning her blouse, she smiled, "Let's go."
The local amusement park wasn't huge, but it had everything.
Jiang Chen held Wen-xian's hand as they chased each other on the carousel;
They screamed their lungs out together on the roller coaster;
And when the drop tower plunged, Wen-xian clung to his arm, face pressed to his shoulder, too scared to speak.
By the end of it all, she was exhausted.
Jiang Chen found them a quiet bench by a little grove of trees to rest.
Sunlight filtered through the leaves, the breeze carrying scents of flowers and fresh grass.
Wen-xian nestled in his arms, her forehead resting under his chin. In a soft voice, she said, "You know, I used to think I had bad luck. But now, I think the heavens were kind to send me to you. That's the best thing that's ever happened to me."
Jiang Chen caressed her back, letting his hand trail lower, stroking gently. A warmth filled his chest. "I feel the same way."
As his hand roamed more boldly, Wen-xian felt a wave of sensation rise in her. She glanced around—no one was nearby. Then she whispered, "If you want me now… I'm yours."
Jiang Chen froze for a second. Her eyes weren't shy—instead, they held a kind of tender devotion. His heart stirred, and he slowly reached for the buttons on her blouse.
Wen-xian closed her eyes and bit her lip, leaning toward him, completely yielding.
Just as things were heating up—
His phone rang.
Jiang Chen looked at the screen. It was Manager Wang.
"Mr. Jiang, the funds are secured. You'll have the 500,000 in your account within thirty minutes," Wang said.
"Great news. But you didn't have to rush—"
"I also need to discuss something with you. It's better in person. I'm waiting outside the Heguang Hotel. Could you take a taxi here?"
Jiang Chen sighed. "Alright."
He ended the call and frowned.
Wen-xian opened her eyes. "What is it?"
"Manager Wang says the money's in—but there's something else. He wants me to come by."
Though a bit disappointed—the mood had been perfect—she smiled and buttoned up. "It's okay. We can finish what we started tonight. Right now, go take care of business."
Jiang Chen nodded. What could be so urgent?
The two of them quickly left the amusement park, hailed a cab, and headed toward Heguang Hotel at full speed.
