Chapter 105 - Chapter 105 New Daily Life

  …

As mentioned before, Shen Ye has a talent for cooking.

While buying groceries, he had already thought about what he was going to cook in the evening. After all, most of the diners were foreigners, so the food had to suit their tastes.

Then, while preparing the cooking procedures, he instructed Roberta on how to cut the vegetables.

As it turned out, Roberta, who was used to chopping people, although not very talented in cooking, was good at cutting vegetables. He quickly cut all the vegetables into shapes that satisfied Shen Ye.

With her help, Shen Ye's speed in cooking dinner increased greatly. Roberta, who was watching the whole cooking process of Shen Ye, would often lose his mind from time to time, and no one knew what he was thinking...

While Shen Ye was cooking the last dish, Garcia and Ada, who had slept for almost a day, finally woke up.

Of course, it is also possible that they were starving and were awakened by the smell of food.

"It smells so good!" Koko was the most active one. She was only about twenty years old and was no different from a little girl. She walked to the dining table, picked up a piece of sweet and sour pork with her fingers and put it into her mouth.

"Hmm, delicious." Koko's eyes lit up and she immediately waved to Valmet: "Valmet, come and try it. This is much better than the English-style Chinese food we had in Europe."

Although Valmet had left the army, she still retained her military manners. She shook her head and said, "Koko, let's wait until he finishes cooking. Besides, we have to wait until everyone is seated."

But Koko couldn't suppress her desire to share. Seeing that Valmet refused, she turned her eyes to Garcia who was already sitting in front of the TV watching cartoons: "Hey, little boy, why don't you try it."

"Shen and Roberta haven't said they're ready to eat yet." Garcia said without turning his head.

Koko could only curl her lips and look at Shen Ye who was still busy in the kitchen.

"What a capable man." She muttered softly.

"Why, are you interested in him?" Ada appeared behind her at some point and asked after hearing her mumbling.

"Of course." Koko nodded decisively and said, "Ada, can you let him join my team? He is such a good fighter and can cook. He is a rare talent."

"He won't agree." Ada shook her head slightly.

"Are you that confident?" Koko looked at Ada and raised a finger. "I can offer him a very generous salary—at least $10,000 a month. That's one hundred $100 bills."

"I'm not short of money." Shen Ye walked out with the last dish and said. He heard the conversation between Koko and Ada in the kitchen, including Koko's whisper.

"Then what are you missing? Maybe I can help you with anything you need." Koko seemed to have really identified Shen Ye, and waved her hand vigorously to show that she was serious.

"My company is big and has everything," she added.

"I don't lack anything." Shen Ye smiled and shook his head, then said to Roberta who was still in the kitchen: "Miss Maid, prepare the tableware. It's time to eat."

"Okay." Roberta responded and walked out holding the dishes and chopsticks that Shen Ye had specially bought.

As Roberta set the table, everyone took their seats.

However, no one picked up their chopsticks first, including Koko who had been eating secretly earlier. They all looked at Shen Ye.

"Before we prepare to enjoy this rare feast, as the host, won't you say something?" Koko said, "Like thanking God or something... Oh, you are from China, you should thank the Buddha? That should be it?"

"I'm not religious." Shen Ye shook his head, then picked up the chopsticks and picked up a piece of braised beef.

Of course, he didn't eat it himself, but put it in the bowl of Ada who was sitting next to him.

"Thank you!" Ada smiled at Shen Ye and skillfully put the piece of beef into her mouth with chopsticks.

"It tastes good, Shen." After Ada said that, she also picked up a piece of meat and put it into Shen Ye's bowl.

  "oh!"

Seeing this scene, Koko started to cheer in a long voice, and then she seemed to have thought of something. She suddenly glanced at Roberta who was sitting opposite her, and then glanced at Valmet beside her, with an imperceptible sly smile on the corner of her mouth.

Since Shen Ye, the host, started eating, the others stopped being polite and started enjoying the food. Koko took only a few bites before running to the coffee table and taking the beer from underneath.

"Come on, let's drink together." Koko said as she opened a can of beer and drank half of it in one breath. Then she let out a long sigh and said, "It's really pleasant. After the war, we should drink some beer to celebrate. Come on, cheers."

  …

After dinner, Shen Ye, as the host and chef, naturally did not have to clean up the dishes. He went to watch cartoons with Garcia. This task was naturally taken over by Roberta.

However, Koko volunteered to help wash the dishes, and Valmet, knowing that Koko had never done any housework because of her privileged life since childhood, had no choice but to go with her.

Afterwards, Koko instigated Ada to go into the kitchen, and what was even more incredible was that Ada actually agreed.

In the kitchen, four women stood side by side, chatting while washing dishes and tidying up the kitchen.

Of course, Roberta was just a listener and did not participate.

"Ada, Valmet, I have decided that I must get him into my team." Koko was washing the dishes with great effort. It was the first time she had done such work since she was a child, but she seemed very excited.

"He just said that he won't agree." Valmet's movements were more agile than Koko's. As a military man, she had been to the kitchen many times.

"That's because the attraction is not enough." Koko glanced at Ada and continued, "If there is something he is interested in, he will definitely agree."

"Then do you know what he is interested in?" Ada asked, shaking off the water droplets on her hands.

"Of course I know." Koko said.

"Tell me about it." Ada looked at her.

But Koko shook her head, then raised the corners of her mouth slightly and said, "I'm sorry, this is the only thing I can't tell you."

Seeing the smile on Koko's face, Ada frowned. She had known Koko for a while and knew that when she smiled like that, she must be thinking bad things. But she really couldn't guess what Koko was trying to do, so she didn't ask any more questions and turned and left the kitchen.

Then, Koko and Valmet, who had finished washing the dishes, also left the kitchen.

Now, Roberta was the only one left in the kitchen, and she was looking at the moon outside the window with a dazed look in her eyes.
