When Wapol saw the user with the ID "Plague Queen" place an order yesterday, he thought it was just some bored copycat.
It wasn't until just now, in the latest video of Queen getting ready for the party, that he clearly saw the robot he built, placed in the corner of the screen!
"I'm gonna be rich... I'm gonna be rich!"
Wapol was very excited in his heart, jumping up with joy. His big body knocked over the pile of scrap metal next to him, making a loud crash.
Ignoring the snow brushing off his body, he shakily clicked on the comment section and, with his oil-stained fingernails, typed out word by word. "Respected Lord Queen! The robot you ordered was made by this humble person! Wapol's Mechanical Workshop, wholeheartedly at your service!"
After sending this comment, he stared hard at the screen, forgetting even to breathe.
It wasn't until he saw his comment being liked one by one, and even reaching the top of the hot comments after ten minutes, with the likes rising like crazy, that he finally took a sharp breath, a sick blush appearing on his dark face.
"Three thousand... three thousand followers!" He danced around in the snow, kicking up a cloud of snow with his worn boots.
Suddenly, he stopped, a smart light twinkling in his small eyes. His thick fingers quickly scrolled to Queen's video announcing the party and left a serious message below.
"For the Emperor's party livestream, Wapol will definitely arrive on time!"
After sending it, Wapol leaned against the big tree behind him with relief, looking up at the falling snow and muttering. "This will be the best chance for Lord Wapol to become famous throughout the seas!"
Then, he turned and rushed into the small shack deep within the garbage heap, frantically searching for various metal parts, stuffing them all into his mouth.
"Gotta make more robots. If orders explode, I'll be rich..." He mumbled, biting a wrench in his mouth, crunching it twice before swallowing it. "I'll make the entire sea remember the name of Lord Wapol!"
The kerosene lamp inside the shack flickered, lighting up his face twisted with excitement.
Outside, the blizzard got stronger, but Wapol was completely unaware, his mind filled with scenes of being the center of attention at the party, sometimes letting out strange cackles of "Wehehehe."
...
Night fell, and the grand party began!
The scene was brightly lit, with a massive bonfire burning fiercely in the center, lighting up Onigashima as if it were daytime.
Queen stood on the makeshift stage, his fat belly rising and falling with his breath, his small eyes narrowed as he stared at the constantly rising viewer count in the upper right corner of the livestream, which had already passed the 100,000 mark!
"Friends!" Queen suddenly roared, his voice hoarse, spitting saliva onto the faces of the cameramen in the front row. "Don't be in a hurry to leave yet."
To make the mood better, Queen had spent a lot of time studying livestreaming over the past few days and was already quite familiar with some basic operations. "Watch closely! A 10 million Berry lucky bag! Three! Two! One! Go!"
Starting with a 10 million Berry lucky bag! The livestream chat instantly exploded, with comments flooding in like a tide.
Beast's Lackey: "Lord Queen is mighty!"
Jonathan: "Really? Pirates are really rich, hmph! If I can't catch you, can't I at least grab your lucky bag?!"
Captain Shirolick of the Blood Blade Pirates: "Daddy Queen, I need money!"
In a remote fishing village in the East Blue, the young fisherman Freelank's fingers shook as he clicked the screen, a hint of nervousness and hope on his face, his eyes fixed on his phone screen.
All he did every day was fish. He had had enough of this life and felt somewhat bored.
Fortunately, having a phone added a little interest to his dull life.
Plus, the livestream sometimes gave out lucky bags, which were real money, so he would try to grab them a few times.
Sometimes, he would win, usually just around ten Berry, which was enough for a meal for him, being single.
Tonight, he came to the Emperor Kaido's livestream as promised, just waiting to grab lucky bags. He couldn't be bothered with anything else.
Although joining lucky bags and such is the main thing, what if he actually won?
This was 10 million Berry!
He prayed silently in his heart, his fingers sliding rapidly across the screen, a hint of nervousness in his eyes.
Suddenly, the phone screen burst with a dazzling golden light, and a message popped up. "Congratulations! You've won a lucky bag and received 100,000 Berry!"
Freelank suddenly jumped up from the worn wooden planks, his knee hitting the low boat railing, but he didn't care about the pain, his eyes wide, muttering to himself.
"Holy cow! Oh my god! 100,000 Berry! This is equal to three months of my income from fishing!"
He was so excited he almost jumped up, his face beaming with clear joy, looking at the message on his phone, checking it several times before daring to believe it was real.
He couldn't help but shout loudly. "I won! I won! Hahahahaha!"
The surrounding villagers heard his shouts and gathered around, looking curiously at the phone in his hand.
They all knew that Freelank had recently become obsessed with that square box called a phone, which had something called TikTok, an entertainment app. They heard it was very fun, and he would stay up with his phone every night.
Although they were interested in phones, they were too expensive for them here, costing 10,000 Berry. They thought it wasn't worth it. They'd rather buy some drinks with that money.
But they would always borrow Freelank's phone to watch, and they also knew about the lucky bag event, but each time it was only one or two Berry, which wasn't very important.
But just now, seeing Freelank's excited look, it definitely wasn't as simple as one or two Berry!
"Freelank, did you really win?" a villager asked, a hint of envy in his eyes.
"Yeah, yeah! I won 100,000 Berry!" Freelank said excitedly, his face full of pride.
He looked at the phone in his hand, his heart filled with gratitude. This little phone not only brought him fun but also brought real income.
"Sorry.... how much?"
"What?!!! Ten... 100,000 Berry!!!" Another villager was stunned, simply not believing it.
"It must be fake, how could it be 100,000 Berry."
"Freelank, you wouldn't lie to us just to make us buy phones, would you?"
But then Freelank showed them his TikTok balance, and everyone was shocked!
It was real!
There really was 100,000 Berry!
Holy crap!!!
Buy a phone!
"Uh, I have something to do, I'm leaving first."
A villager hurriedly ran off, heading straight for the nearest phone store. He heard that they had received a large shipment a couple of days ago, and the price seemed to have dropped by one Berry.
"My mom's calling me home for dinner, not playing today."
"What a coincidence, my mom's also calling me home for dinner. Freelank, I'm leaving first."
"..."
Soon, the few villagers who had been borrowing the phone were all gone. Are you kidding? Gotta buy a phone and grab lucky bags quickly!
Freelank laughed heartily. Let them borrow his phone all day. Now that good luck had come, they couldn't catch up, could they?
He secretly decided in his heart that he must try even harder to grab lucky bags in the future. As long as he had a phone, life would definitely get better and better.
