Rong Ci listened and almost couldn't help but laugh.
Lin Wu and Feng Ting Shen had only met after she and Feng Ting Shen got married.
Lin Wu knew about her relationship with Feng Ting Shen, and Rong Ci didn't believe that Lin Lihai didn't know that Feng Ting Shen was the husband of his other daughter!
He must have known.
Yet, he shamelessly tried to matchmake Lin Wu and Feng Ting Shen.
But in Lin Lihai's mind, it seemed like he was completely indifferent to his own daughter!
Feng Ting Shen agreed to it.
They exchanged a few pleasantries, and Rong Ci waited for Lin Lihai to get into his car before she got into hers and left.
Given Feng Ting Shen's current status, it would usually take the elders of the Feng family to make him act this way.
But Feng Ting Shen clearly respected Lin Lihai.
It was because he was Lin Wu's father.
With that thought, she remembered how Feng Ting Shen had treated her grandmother, uncle, and aunt in their past meetings—he had always been distant and indifferent.
Even in the past, when she carefully brought up her uncle's situation, he was always unwilling to help.
But when it came to Lin Wu, the way he treated her was completely different.
The way he treated her compared to how he treated Lin Wu was simply worlds apart.
This must be the difference between love and indifference.
After a while, Feng Ting Shen also left.
Much later, Rong Ci turned around and entered "Yan Hao."
In the afternoon, after finishing work, Rong Ci went home to pick up the gifts she had prepared for the Feng family's grandmother and grandfather, then drove to the Feng family's old house.
The Feng family's old house was located near the outskirts of the city. The area was picturesque, quiet, and very suitable for the elderly to live in.
The only downside was that the old house was relatively far from the city center.
Rong Ci drove for an hour and a half before arriving at the old house.
After parking the car and holding the gifts, she hadn't even entered the house when she heard the cheerful laughter of her daughter, Feng Jingxin.
Grandmother was facing the door and immediately noticed her, smiling brightly. "Xiao Ci, you're here? Come, come sit with Grandma."
But only Grandmother was smiling. Feng Ting Shen's mother, her mother-in-law, as well as Feng Ting Lin's mother and son, all had smiles that faded when they saw her.
Rong Ci noticed, but she no longer cared as much as she used to.
She pretended not to see it, smiled, and handed the gifts to the butler who came to greet her, then walked toward Grandmother. "Grandma."
"Ah!" Grandmother smiled widely, pulling Rong Ci to sit down, then immediately furrowed her brows. "Why have you lost so much weight? Has Ting Shen been bullying you?"
Rong Ci lowered her head and shook her head. "No, I've just been very busy recently."
This was half true and half false.
Feng Ting Shen hadn't bullied her, but her emotions had often been affected by him.
Additionally, in the past half month, after work, she had focused almost entirely on researching artificial intelligence, often staying up until the early hours of the morning to continue her work.
This was part of the reason she had lost weight during this period.
Before Grandmother could speak, Feng Ting Lin sneered, "The way you say it, someone who doesn't know might think your work is so important that the entire Feng family business can't survive without you."
Feng Ting Shen's mother, Sang Qian, sat nearby, exuding the elegance of a refined lady.
She took a sip of tea and said coldly, "If you think the work at the Feng family business is too tiring, you might as well resign. After all, no one is forcing you to work at the Feng family business."
Feng Ting Lin laughed. "Exactly! But I'm afraid someone won't want to give it up—"
Grandmother couldn't bear to hear anyone speak ill of Rong Ci and was about to speak when Rong Ci beat her to it. "I've already submitted my resignation. Once the handover is complete, I'll be leaving the Feng family business."
The moment these words were out, Sang Qian and Feng Ting Lin both froze for a moment.
Grandmother furrowed her brows. "Xiao Ci—"
"Mom's here?"
Feng Jingxin had just taken the elevator up to the second floor.
Now, as she was coming back down, she saw Rong Ci and was quite happy, especially since it had been over half a month since she last contacted her.
She interrupted Grandmother's words and threw herself into Rong Ci's arms. "Mom!"
Rong Ci paused, gently hugged her, and murmured, "Mm," but didn't say anything else.
Grandmother actually didn't want Rong Ci to leave the Feng family business.
However, seeing Feng Jingxin there, she didn't continue the previous conversation and instead smiled at Rong Ci. "Xiao Ci, it's been a long time since I had tea made by you. Could you make me a couple of cups?"
Rong Ci had grown up beside Grandmother. When she was young, her personality was calm, and she was patient. She also had a talent for tea-making, and over the years, her tea-making skills had become quite good.
"Of course, no problem, but it's almost time for dinner..."
Feng Ting Lin liked coffee and didn't care much for tea.
She didn't like to watch Rong Ci show off her tea-making skills and interrupted, "Yeah, once Ting Shen and Ting Yi are back, we'll start dinner..."
As soon as she finished speaking, Feng Ting Shen returned.
After entering, he greeted Grandmother and Sang Qian first.
When he saw Rong Ci, he glanced at her and quickly looked away, sitting down on the single-seater sofa, as far from her as possible.
Feng Jingxin saw Feng Ting Shen and immediately left Rong Ci's arms, running over to him. "Dad!"
"Mm." Feng Ting Shen hugged her, then looked around, about to speak, when Feng Ting Yi returned.
Feng Ting Yi was younger than both Feng Ting Lin and Feng Ting Shen, still underage, with a bright and cheerful personality. As he entered, he lightly jumped over the armrest of the sofa and settled comfortably on it.
Seeing so many people, he smiled and said, "So, is everyone waiting for me?"
Feng Ting Lin gave his head a playful tap. "Yes, we've all been waiting for you with hungry stomachs!"
Feng Ting Shen was calm by nature and usually spoke little. Feng Ting Lin had a fiery temper, but Feng Ting Yi was the cheerful one in the family and had a closer relationship with his parents.
As soon as he returned, Sang Qian's slightly cold expression softened, and Grandmother became even happier. Seeing that it was getting late and everyone was hungry, she instructed to have the meal served.
There were only nine people in total, and they went to the small dining room to eat.
When they sat down, the seating order was Grandmother, Feng Ting Shen, Feng Jingxin, and Rong Ci.
Grandmother smiled and waved at Feng Jingxin. "Jingxin, switch seats with your dad so that your dad and mom can sit together."
Grandmother always spared no effort in trying to matchmake Rong Ci and Feng Ting Shen.
The others weren't surprised anymore.
They all felt that Grandmother was just doing a futile job.
After all, no matter how much she tried to matchmake, after so many years, Feng Ting Shen's attitude towards Rong Ci hadn't changed in the slightest.
Because they knew how useless it was for Grandmother to keep trying, Feng Ting Lin sneered with sarcasm. This time, she didn't even bother getting involved and just found a seat to sit down casually.
Although Feng Ting Shen didn't like Grandmother's arrangement, as long as it wasn't a big deal, he wouldn't contradict her.
So, he didn't say anything.
This was more or less a silent agreement.
Rong Ci didn't feel as happy about Grandmother's matchmaking as she had in the past.
Her expression was (calm and neutral), but when she looked at Grandmother, her smile was gentle as she said, "It's fine, Grandma. Let's just sit like this."
