Chapter 5 -  Chapter 5 : 653 lords?

Leo walked back to the Lord's Mansion, with Emma silently following behind.

He sat down near the entrance, his eyes scanning her with curiosity.

"Emma," "where are you from? " Leo asked,

Emma lowered her gaze slightly and replied respectfully,

"My Lord, as far as I know, when my world was on the brink of destruction, we were offered a contract by the Supreme Being—to serve the Lords and compete for the ultimate honor: becoming the Lord of All Races."

Leo narrowed his eyes. "Are you, Liam, Noah, and the others all from the same world?"

Emma shook her head softly. "Forgive me, my Lord, but my world is vast—composed of many continents. Before its destruction, much of it remained unmapped. So I do not know if they are from the same world or another."

Leo was a little surprised.

The world I came from... compared to hers, it must be incredibly small.

After chatting with Emma for a while longer, Leo opened the Local Lords' Chat again.

The first thing he noticed was the number of active lords:

[9347 / 10,000]

Already 653 lords have died!?

Leo took a deep breath.

I knew people would die... but this fast? More than 500 probably left the territory shield without thinking. So many fools...

Then he glanced at the chat as new messages poured in:

"Everyone calm down! We've been transported to a new world. We need to stay calm and find a way to survive."

"Haha, you're still thinking of surviving? With my talent, I'll be ruling over you all soon!"

"And what talent did you get that makes you so cocky?"

"Beast master. I can summon 3 random beasts a day."

" Pfft, this fool thinks his talent is amazing. I thought he was some big shot."

"Bro, friendly reminder—don't summon too many beasts before securing food. Or you'll become their food."

"Haha! I can summon skeletons. They don't eat and work day and night. Unlike you clowns, I can summon 10 skeletons a day!"

"Skeletons? Can they even last a minute against my dragon? I can summon one dragon every three days. Quality over quantity."

"A big boss has entered the chat!"

"Big boss! Big boss! When we get back, can you carry me? I'll pay you millions!"

"With the power we have now, does money from our old world even matter anymore?"

"Brothers, does anyone have extra food? We're starving, and our workers and soldiers need to eat too."

"Brother, food is too valuable right now. No one's giving it away for free."

"Then how about a trade? 50 units of wood or 50 stones for 1 unit of food?"

"The guy above—why don't you just rob us?"

"You're foolish. With how rare food is, that offer is actually cheap."

Leo chuckled coldly.

Looks like some of them have already started hunting monsters... I'll wait a bit longer

After checking the chat for a while, Leo closed the interface.

He stood up and walked to a corner of his territory.

It was time to build houses for his subjects—and upgrade the Lord's Mansion.

[Ding! Would you like to construct a Small House?]

Requirements: 30 Wood, 10 Stone

Note: A Small House can accommodate up to 5 members.

[Yes] / [No]

Leo looked at his current resources:

Current Resources

Wood: 100

Stone: 20

Wolf Meat : 300

Wolf Fangs: 20

Fresh water : 20 units

Rank 2 Summoning Scrolls: 1

It seems I can only construct two Small Houses at the moment... good thing I only have 10 subjects currently.

He confirmed: "Yes."

[Ding! Small House is being constructed.]

Then he constructed another one next to it.

Current Resources

Wood: 40

Stone: 0

Wolf Meat : 300

Wolf Fangs: 20

Fresh water : 20 units

Rank 2 Summoning Scrolls: 1

Looking at what he had left, Leo muttered to himself,

"I'll need to gather more wood and stone soon... and I have to upgrade the Lord's Mansion next."
