The situation for the immortal man was far from good. Even though the woman's attacks didn't seem particularly threatening in terms of sheer force, her power was still terrifying—mainly because of those "stones" she had been able to create.
"What a strange power… Does she have super strength, or the ability to create rocks?"
The mere fact that the woman noticed the confusion and fear in her opponent made her burst into loud laughter. Her laugh echoed like "Momomoonn", which left both Arold and the Miraijin with blank expressions as they thought, "Even her laugh is weird?"
— "What's the matter, sir? Don't tell me a little punch like that already made you mess yourself!"
She taunted him provocatively, trying to bait the blond man into attacking her—and it worked like a charm. He was soon engaged in a fierce exchange of punches with the powerful woman. After just the first five blows, he realized something that left him paralyzed with shock and anxiety, like a rabbit cornered by a pack of rabid wolves.
"With each punch… No, with every second, her punches get stronger!"
And not just her punches—he also noticed her speed increasing steadily. It was as if he were fighting an entity with infinite strength and velocity. It felt like battling the Moon itself, personified. He tried to pierce her body by firing pressurized liquid from his eyes at her neck, but her resistance was so great that the liquid simply bounced off her skin and hit the ground instead. Even though the rocks on the ground were destroyed by the blast, her skin remained untouched—like it was made of steel.
— "What a cute little attack. That was a great massage!"
Leaving that epic duel for a moment, we return to the soldiers helping the injured youths, pulling Aki, Ali, and Arold away from the battle to assist with the evacuation. Their leader, Hoffung Held—the same powerful man who had previously attacked the immortal Miraijin—looked at the young Kura and said:
— "What's this little guy doing here? Does the army accept kids now?"
The young man, lying face down on the ground, shot up in a burst of indignation, yelling furiously at Held:
— "Kid?! For your information, I'm still growing, got it, you jerk?!"
Held was surprised by the reaction—and even more so when he saw the boy's face. The giant man burst into laughter and gave the youth a few hearty pats on the back.
— "So you're the electric kid, huh? Then this'll be easier than I thought!"
Held walked over to Kura, pulling along a skinny, shorter man from his squad. While the rest of the soldiers were helping to evacuate civilians, hours passed—and the woman's fight against the immortal man was still raging on. By now, she had changed drastically since the battle started. Her height had grown from 5'9" (1.75m) to around 10 feet (3m), and her strength and speed were now devastating, each punch landing like a comet at point-blank range.
"This woman is insufferable. What the hell is her power? This fight is driving me nuts!"
The immortal man quickly thought of a strategy. He dodged one of her attacks, letting it hit the ground instead, using her strength to shatter the very ground beneath them, which gave him a slight advantage.
"If she just gets tired, I'll win this fight—since I don't suffer from fatigue!"
He began kicking floating rocks at the woman, raising a huge cloud of dust as they hit her. He took advantage of their size difference and managed to hit her with his pressurized liquid attack, sending her flying about 45 meters across the battlefield. She was left defenseless.
— "It's over! The final victory is mine!"
Just as those words left his lips, the moon reached its peak in the sky—exactly midnight. Suddenly, from the Miraijin's chest, his own blood was drawn out and used to detonate the area around him. The long-distance attack left him confused, but soon he felt himself being pulled toward the woman by some unknown force. She grabbed his face and slammed him full-force into the ground, turning his head into a pulp. He did eventually regenerate—but slowly and painfully. The only thing he could see and hear was the woman, who now stood over 26 feet tall (8m). What once felt like fighting something similar to the Moon now became a battle against the Moon itself, incarnate.
— "What's the matter? A man over 200 years old like you—afraid of midnight?"
