The elevator arrived back at the airship. All the soldiers gathered around it. The monarch of the six airships had also arrived.
The elevator opened.
Kuhici's body was lying on the ground, his head decapitated, blood flowing down his neck.
The soldiers were confused but acted fast, guarding the monarch.
But it was too late...
The whole military was wiped out in a matter of seconds.
The monarch was grabbed by the neck by a black, distorted figure. He was being tortured, ripped to shreds piece by piece. The creature then tore out his heart and consumed it.
It then threw his body into the sky.
The expedition was a disaster. Due to the monarch's greed for more resources, the downfall of the city would now occur.
Enneth, sleeping in his room, heard destruction outside. He walked out of his room and headed to the front door. He ran to the top of the airship and saw smoke rising from the military airship.
He was bewildered at the sight.
Then, he had a sudden realization—the expedition was a failure, and a creature had entered their domain. He knew it without a doubt, since it was the military airship out of all the airships.
He knew his parents were gone.
Enneth fell to the ground. He didn't know how to express his feelings. He had always struggled with this, and at that moment, tears fell from his face—not because he was upset or mad, but they simply fell because that's how his body reacted.
He knew he wouldn't be alive for long and headed to the military ship to fight the unknown creature. He ran across the bridge connecting the ships, glancing at the ground for a moment, thinking: If this bridge broke, I would fall from the sky.
He stopped hesitating and ran to the airship. He grabbed a rifle from a fallen soldier and headed downstairs.
All the military equipment had been destroyed, meaning the creature wasn't mindless. It had a mind of its own—it was intelligent.
"Fuckkkkk," Enneth shouted, frustrated with the creature.
Suddenly, he felt a presence behind him and dodged the attack immediately, ducking to the ground.
It was there.
Enneth stared at it. It was tall, black, with a slender body and one eye, dripping white goo. The creature's distorted form made Enneth deeply uncomfortable.
Suddenly, the lights blacked out.
The palm of the creature's hand reached out to grab his body.
Enneth's body reacted suddenly, and the creature realized this wasn't just a first-time fluke.
Enneth kept dodging the creature's relentless attacks.
What the heck is going on? Enneth thought.
He fired his rifle at the creature, but it had no effect.
Everything had been going well for Enneth—until it wasn't. He threw his weapon to the ground and went back to square one, dodging its attacks.
His stamina drained quickly—he couldn't keep up his flow state forever.
The creature took advantage of his exhaustion and plucked out his right eyeball.
"Ahhhhhhhhhhhhh!" he shouted in pain.
The creature struck Enneth with such force that his back broke. Barely conscious, he looked at the creature one last time before he passed out.
He muttered his final words.
"Fuck you," he said, raising his middle finger to the creature.
