They said fire fed on his sadness. That he could summon heat when scared, and turn to ash when angry.

They observed the dance from a rooftop café. Mira sipped chai, her fingers tense.

Ved watched, calm but focused.
"He doesn't know what he holds."
Rehan's voice was grim. "The Erasers do."
