I had come up with countless theories for how I'd ended up in this world, why it happened, how it happened, and who might be the mastermind behind it. There were so many ways to explain this phenomenon through science, and I chose to believe in the logic of science.
And yet here I was, standing before a character from a game — a being bound by code and narrative, supposedly ruled by the system — and he was staring straight into my eyes and telling me I didn't belong here.
