Chapter 20 - FTRJ: Chapter 20

Remembering Finn's touch on her demonic claw, Mirajane's face flushed. She carefully pulled her arm from her cloak, revealing the arm that terrified the town.

It was much thicker than a normal human arm, completely black, covered in scales, and sharp claws gleamed.

Mirajane quickly withdrew her arm, lowering her head, afraid to see Finn's expression. Everyone she'd shown it to had shown disgust. This had happened many times in the past few days.

The crowd fell silent. Mirajane's spirits sank. "They're afraid of my arm too." She even considered cutting it off.

But after a moment of silence, cheers and admiration erupted.

"Wow, that's a cool arm!" Natsu, descending from the ceiling, stared at the demonic arm with wide, shining eyes.

"That arm looks really powerful!"

"So awesome!"

Mirajane was stunned by the praise. She'd never thought this arm, which brought her misfortune, would receive so much admiration.

"See? I told you they wouldn't mind," Finn smiled, showing his teeth.

"Hmph, silly…" Mirajane said softly. Looking around, she felt a sense of belonging. This might be the place for her.

She'd planned to leave and not burden her siblings if her arm couldn't be cured. Now, she wanted to stay.

Makarov, who had been observing, said, "Child, don't worry. This is just your magic; it's not yet fully developed."

"Once you master it, your arm will return to normal. You can also use the demon's power in battle. It's a powerful ability."

Mirajane's worry vanished. Lisanna excitedly hugged Mirajane. "Mirajane, that's great…"

Mirajane hugged her sister tightly. Elfman also expressed his joy.

Makarov watched them, a kind smile on his face.

When they calmed down, Makarov said, "Finn told me you're homeless, and he invited you."

"What do you say? Will you join Fairy Tail?"

The three siblings looked at each other. Mirajane said seriously, "Master Makarov, we want to join Fairy Tail, please!"

"Haha, I accept! I accept!" Makarov laughed. He saw great potential in them, especially Mirajane, who had absorbed Satan's power. Makarov had never seen this before. Whether Satan was a soul or not, it was still Satan, and Mirajane's future potential was immense, possibly rivaling Erza's.

"Let's get your marks," Makarov brought out the Fairy Tail stamps.

Soon, they had their marks.

Makarov smiled. "Introduce yourselves. You're all guildmates now."

The three nodded.

Mirajane spoke first. "I'm Mirajane Strauss."

Lisanna smiled sweetly. "Hello, everyone. I'm Lisanna Strauss. Please take care of us." She bowed.

The guild members cheered; she was adorable.

Elfman, shy, struggled to speak. Finn shouted, "Quiet! They haven't finished introducing themselves."

The guild fell silent.

Finn gave Elfman an encouraging look.

Elfman took a deep breath. "Hello, everyone. I'm Elfman Strauss. Please…please take care of us." He bowed deeply.

"Alright, kids," Makarov jumped onto the bar, raising his mug. "Let's welcome these three! Let's have a feast!!"

"Ooh, feast, feast!!"

A celebration began.

"No, no, no! I really don't drink! I really don't drink!!" Finn tried to order his usual milk.

Cana, teaming up with Macao and Wakaba, tried to force him to drink.

"Come on! I wanted to drink with you last time! You can't escape this time," Cana said menacingly.

But Finn wasn't easily defeated. He used his strength to break free.

"Natsu, Gray, want revenge? Help me hold Finn down!" Cana called for help.

Natsu's eyes lit up, and he quickly joined. Gray hesitated but, remembering his past beatings by Finn, joined in.

"Haha, let's join in! Finn, we owe you one," More people joined, quickly pinning Finn to the ground.

Cana, holding a bottle of high-proof liquor, grinned and began to force-feed Finn.

Finn glanced at Mirajane and her siblings, who hadn't joined in, and frantically gestured for help.

Mirajane and her siblings hesitated, looking at Makarov, who was already quite drunk.

"Mirajane, I take back what I said at the entrance. Finn isn't very popular," Lisanna whispered.

That day, Finn was in the guild, chatting with Macao and others, toasting – but his glass contained pure white milk.

"You're still drinking milk? That doesn't suit your image," Macao teased.

Finn shrugged. "I'm curious why you all love alcohol. It's so disgusting." He shivered, remembering his last forced drinking experience.

"Haha, yeah, your tolerance is…haha."

Finn had once demonstrated the meaning of "one-sip drunk"! He'd become completely incapacitated, almost needing a trip to the hospital. It took him nearly a day and a night to recover.

Yet, he'd recovered remarkably quickly after that incident, fully sober by the time the party ended. Cana was utterly amazed by his recovery speed.

Finn believed it was related to his physique. He'd recovered from food poisoning quickly in the forest. He didn't understand the mechanism but didn't dwell on it.

"Look, look! What did I find?" Natsu ran in, holding a large egg with blue patterns.

Everyone's attention turned to him.

"Oh, Natsu, did you bring an egg to treat us to? That's thoughtful," Finn teased.

"What are you saying, Finn? This is a dragon egg! I'm not eating it!" Natsu was startled by the suggestion and quickly hid the egg behind his back, looking panicked.

"It's not a dragon egg," Gray, shirtless, shook his head.

"Gray, your clothes…"

"Ah~~ When?"

Natsu, unconvinced, pointed at the egg's patterns. "Look! These patterns are like a dragon's claw! It's a dragon egg!"

His antics caused everyone to burst into laughter.

Natsu ran to Makarov, looking anxious. "Grandpa Master, use magic to hatch the dragon!"

"Bang—" Makarov hit Natsu's head with his cane. "Idiot, there's no such magic to violate life."

"Life is born of love. No magic can match that," Makarov lectured him patiently.

Finn, seeing Natsu's bewildered expression, knew he hadn't understood a word.

Sure enough, Natsu said, "What are you talking about? I don't understand."

Makarov sighed. "It's too early for you, kid."

Erza walked over. "You have to hatch it yourself."

She folded her arms and lectured him. "You only know how to destroy. This is a good chance to learn about the miracle of life."

"Oh, Erza, you're back!" Finn greeted her, and Erza nodded slightly.

"Erza's back? Huh? Where is she?" A girl wearing a crop top, with long white hair tied in a high ponytail and a purple skull headband, rushed out shouting.

Finn facepalmed. "Here we go again."

This was Mirajane. Since her arm healed, and she became more familiar with the guild, her true personality seemed to have emerged, possibly influenced by the others. She'd been so gentle when he first met her.

Most importantly, Mirajane and Erza constantly clashed, often involving Finn to judge who was right.

Finn just wanted to drink his milk in peace.
