Chapter 9: Preparation Before the Arrival of the Letter

MC's Point of View

Ever since that day, my life had taken a new turn.

I spent most of my time trying to understand and practice the magical abilities that now flowed through me. One of the more fascinating powers I had discovered was the ability to communicate with animals. So far, I had only tested this skill with Nemo—my phoenix and closest companion—because of the unique soul bond we shared. Our connection went far beyond words. Through this bond, I could see through his eyes and hear what he heard, experiencing the world from his perspective as though it were my own.

Over time, I realized that many people considered me unusually mature and intelligent for my age. Apparently, I had an impressive range of talents. By the age of eleven, I had already learned more than four languages fluently. In addition to that, I had competed—and even won—in several martial arts championships, some of which were technically beyond my age category. My physical fitness was exceptional for someone my age, thanks to my daily two-hour workout routine. My body was strong, agile, and well-developed compared to others in my peer group.

Aside from that, I had developed a curiosity for knowledge in various fields, especially medicine and law, which I studied in my spare time, influenced by my parents' professions. Both of my parents are Muggles, so they had no idea about the magical world or my abilities. I had no relatives on my father's side, but my mother's side included a few extended family members.

After taking time to understand everything that had happened to me—especially my experience in that strange void with Merlin—I began to concentrate fully on exploring my magical potential. To my surprise, I discovered that I could perform magic without the use of a wand. I wasn't entirely sure why, but I had a strong feeling it was connected to the staff Merlin had thrown to me just before everything went dark. I remembered how the staff had vanished into my soul upon contact. That was no ordinary wand or artifact.

It was something ancient and powerful—crafted from two different magical woods and containing a core made of combined essences from several legendary magical creatures. I suspect it altered my magical core, making my magic more potent, denser, and adaptable. That might explain why I could cast spells without needing a wand. Still, I figured having a wand would help channel and stabilize my magic more effectively.

At my current level, I could levitate objects weighing up to 10 kilograms without breaking a sweat. But that wasn't all. I also discovered something strange about my eyes. They had turned golden, and with them, I could perceive things others couldn't. I could observe objects in extreme detail, even slowing down time in my perception, allowing me to analyze everything from movement to magical energy. I could also see radiant streams of light when I performed magic—currents of energy that I believe represent the natural flow of magical forces in the world around me.

Curious about my mental defenses, I also began practicing Occlumency. I managed to create basic mental shields purely on instinct. However, I wasn't sure how effective they were since the only way to test them would be through a Legilimency attack—something I didn't yet have a partner or teacher for.

While training my magical abilities, I didn't ignore the Muggle side of life. I kept up with modern technologies, studied computer science, dabbled in programming, and picked up useful skills that might help me one day in both worlds.

In my previous life—if I can call it that—I had missed out on so much. But this time, I promised myself I would live fully and seize every opportunity that came my way.

Weeks passed as I honed my body, mind, and magic. Then, the day finally arrived—the day I had been waiting for.

It was a calm morning, and everyone was gathered at the breakfast table. My father looked at me with curiosity and asked, "So, have you decided which school you want to attend for your future studies?"

I couldn't help but grin inwardly. I thought to myself, You'll find out soon enough, Dad.

Just then, there was a sudden knock on the window. Or rather, a tap. Turning quickly, I saw an owl perched outside, clutching a thick envelope in its beak. My eyes widened with excitement. Ashton—myself—recognized the owl immediately and rushed to the window. I opened it, and the owl calmly extended its leg toward me, allowing me to take the letter.

The envelope was sealed with a large, ornate letter "H," and beneath the seal was a crest featuring four animals—a lion, a snake, an eagle, and a badger—each representing one of the four houses of Hogwarts.

My father stood behind me, puzzled. "Who even sends letters by owl these days?" he asked.

He leaned closer, squinting at the front of the envelope. "And look at that! It has your room's exact address... To Mr. Ashton A. D. Willson."

He nodded at the envelope. "Well, go on, son. Open it and read it aloud. It's addressed to you, after all."

I nodded, heart racing, and carefully opened the envelope. I unfolded the parchment and began to read:

after hearing the written context my father and mother laughed. so some one is playing a joke on us. my mother asked me if i was the one who have written the letter.

after giving my answer in negative. I give some bread to the Owl who was sitting on the window and off ro my room.

after some time i came with another letter on mt hand. were i give response to the letter. as i will be accepting their offer and require some help in buying those written items.

seeing this my father and mother both asked me why did I write this.

I pretended to shrugged it off and said i was just following the joke and see what happens. after that they didn't ask anything and got busy in there work. I give the letter to the owl and it flow away happily with the letter .
