I'm so bored. Why couldn't Charlie be the one to sit on my eggs? It's been four weeks since I've been stuck as a small crow demon, making sure the eggs are warm and feeding off my demonic energy.
Charlie was already buying clothes of all sizes, making sure she had a variety of clothes that would fit any animal that would come out. By the end of her shopping spree, three rooms were now full of clothes and my wallet was losing weight.
As the days went by, Charlie would visit me and the eggs, making sure that I wasn't lonely and that I had something to eat. Vaggie would also occasionally visit me, carrying food and even cleaning the room—and me—sometimes.
Charlie thought it was cute what Vaggie was doing and decided to hire her to be part of the hotel. Vaggie happily accepted and became the hotel's manager, making sure everything was in order. As a little prank, Charlie took all of Vaggie's clothes and replaced them with maid outfits.
This happened for a week. I wasn't sure why Charlie did it, but I wasn't complaining. Vaggie, on the other hand, seemed to be very angry about it, because every time I looked at her face, she seemed to be crimson red.
After a while, I could feel the eggs slightly moving. I wasn't sure when they'd hatch, but I wasn't in a rush.
My father recently visited me at the hotel while I was nursing the eggs and congratulated me. I didn't know why he had to come, since I'm pretty sure they're just pets.
The next person who visited me was my brother, Stolas. He came during the second week of me taking care of the eggs. He didn't come alone, though, because he was with his daughter—my niece—Octavia. She was now 13 years old and was wearing the clothes Charlie had given her when she was younger.
"Oh dear brother, I'm so happy for you! You finally decided to give Charlie kids!"
"What!?"
I was really confused. Stolas thought these eggs were my children. I wasn't even a girl!
"Stolas, these eggs were a gift from Charlie's father. These aren't my actual kids."
"See, Dad? I told you, Uncle Stygian isn't pregnant. Why would you even think he was pregnant?"
"Well, to be fair, when we were kids my brother came back home with a cute pink puffy dress, so I just thought he was also part girl."
Octavia suddenly stopped looking at her phone and slowly looked at her dad with a 'are you serious?' face.
"Anyway, it's good to see you, Stolas. Sorry I couldn't visit you more often. I've been really busy with other stuff."
"Of course, dear brother. I know how busy you've been with life and work."
"Thank you for understanding, brother."
He nodded at me and placed a box containing clothes.
"Before we leave, brother, I have a few gifts for you. These clothes used to be Octavia's and mine."
"Oh... that's great, brother. Thank you."
I didn't have the heart to tell him that Charlie had already bought three rooms' worth of clothes.
"It's no problem, brother. If you need anything at all, I'll be there to help you."
He picked up the box once more, set it down on the table by the door, and left with Octavia.
Man, this was a journey. All I did was sit on eggs, but I was mentally exhausted.
Charlie then entered the room holding a bowl of soup. She usually does this when it's almost time for bed so I don't sleep with an empty stomach.
She sat next to me and began feeding me the soup. But what Charlie didn't know was that the reason I slept soundly and so quickly whenever she fed me the soup was that, due to me becoming weaker, my immunity to her food disappeared—and by finishing the soup, I was knocked out until the next morning.
But before she could finish feeding me, I felt it. The eggs were hatching. Charlie felt it too and began panicking, saying things like she's not ready and telling me not to panic or overreact.
Meanwhile, I just sat there, staring at her overreaction to the situation.
She finally stopped panicking when she saw the eggs breaking the shell they were trapped in. And then we finally saw them—the new addition to the family.
