Chapter 71 - Chapter 71

"You stinky fish! Who even does things your way? Why did you come here?!"

"I came because I wanted to. Do I need your permission, you reptile?"

"You son of a... Couldn't you just stay in your deep sea?! I'm warning you—get lost!"

"What do you think you are? You tell me to leave, so I'll stay just to annoy you."

"You wanna fight?! I'm telling you, I'm really angry right now. Don't push me to kill you!"

"Stop bragging. Even after following the Master, you haven't improved much. Save your breath."

"Stinky fish!"

"Reptile!"

"Stinky fish!"

"Reptile!"

...

The two legendary Pokémon—the god of land and the god of the sea—were bickering like children.

The freshly released Lapras trembled, not daring to make a sound.

As for the three legendary birds—though they normally wouldn't back down from any legendary Pokémon—they had zero interest in getting involved in this domestic mess.

Instead, they stood off to the side, happily watching the show.

Riku, meanwhile, was busy cooking and didn't even look up.

As long as they didn't start throwing punches (or tsunamis), he wasn't bothered by their grudge.

In his mind, Groudon and Kyogre were basically a divorced couple.

Let them squabble—maybe they'd make up afterward.

Isn't there a saying? "Fighting is a sign of affection."

---

"Ra-lu-la-lu…"

Maybe the arguing got too loud.

Ralts, who liked peace and quiet, walked up with some irritation and called out a few times.

The message was clear:

> "Go argue somewhere else. You're being noisy."

If it had been Lapras or Gengar—Elite Four–level Pokémon—and Riku wasn't around, Groudon and Kyogre would've slapped them halfway across the island.

But facing the adorable Ralts, the two legendary Pokémon… actually fell silent.

Groudon even tried to gently pat Ralts's head with one massive claw.

Ralts ruthlessly dodged.

"This…" Groudon scratched its head, a bit embarrassed.

"Little Ralts, don't worry. I won't keep arguing with the stinky fish."

"As for it… I can't control it. You have to understand—it's a stubborn piece of trash…"

"Hey, hey, hey, that's enough!" Kyogre snapped.

"What are you teaching a child?! If little Ralts ends up disliking me because of your nonsense, I will fight you to the death!"

Ralts looked helplessly at the two so-called uncles, who were clearly about to start again.

With a sigh, it covered its ears and ran back into the small wooden house.

"Eh…"

Both legendary Pokémon instinctively reached out to stop it, but seeing the other do the same, they snorted and turned their heads away in sync.

---

Other Pokémon—no matter how cute or rare—wouldn't receive this kind of treatment from Groudon and Kyogre.

They were legendary beings with vast experience. They'd seen plenty of Ralts in their time.

So why were they being so gentle with this one?

Because long ago, when this Ralts was still in its egg, it had absorbed the law attributes spilled during one of Groudon and Kyogre's ancient battles.

In a way, they had unknowingly nurtured Ralts before it was even born.

The most miraculous part?

Ralts had successfully hatched.

A true miracle!

Realizing this, Groudon and Kyogre both felt a deep sense of guilt and responsibility.

Without ever discussing it, they had silently agreed to treat Ralts like their own daughter—to give her as much love as possible.

---

"Dinner's ready!"

Riku emerged from the small wooden house carrying a large wooden tray.

Seeing Groudon and Kyogre still staring each other down, he said half-annoyed:

"I usually don't care about your squabbles, but don't argue during dinner."

"Little Ralts is still young and can't handle your sonic attacks. Be mindful."

The master had spoken—and since it was about Ralts, the two glared at each other but obediently nodded.

One tray wasn't enough for these gluttonous beasts, so Riku brought out four more.

The trays—really more like deep wooden buckets—had all been handmade by Riku.

Otherwise, there wouldn't be nearly enough food.

This was Kyogre's first time eating at the small house, and everything felt new and interesting.

It began devouring food at a terrifying speed.

"Wolfing it down" didn't even begin to describe it.

More like "gaping maw of doom."

Riku, Ralts, and the legendary birds were stunned.

Only Groudon rolled its eyes.

They'd been rivals for countless years. This was Kyogre holding back.

If it really cut loose, it could probably swallow an entire sea.

---

"This won't do!" Riku cried out.

"Little Fish, if you eat like this, how am I supposed to afford feeding you?!"

"If I'd known you... Never mind."

"Just tone it down, will you? You're a girl, after all! Eating like that makes you really unladylike!"

"What?" Kyogre froze, pointing at itself with a fin.

"What do you mean ladylike? Master, I'm not a female!"

"Not a female?!" Riku looked even more shocked.

"Then how did you end up with Red Shrimp?! Wait… Don't tell me you're…?"

"WHOA. That's way too open-minded!"

"So even Pokémon swing that way?!"

---

"Master, can you not be like this?" Groudon said, nearly in tears.

It had been eating quietly this whole time, and yet somehow still got dragged into the drama.

"The relationship between me and the stinky fish really isn't what you think!"

"You have to understand—many Pokémon don't even have genders. They're born genderless!"

"Whoa!" Riku exclaimed.

"Genderless romance? Now that's true love!"

"I…" Groudon and Kyogre nearly choked to death.

If it weren't Riku saying these things, they would've gone berserk a long time ago.

---

They didn't enjoy the meal much after that… but still cleaned their plates.

Not a single crumb left.

---

After a half-hour break, Riku walked over to the large water tank and picked up Feebas.

"It's been quite a while. Time for you to evolve."

"Points? I've got plenty!"

With a wave, Riku exchanged a Prism Scale from the system shop.

Ever since defeating Shiba, the system had rewarded him with 1.8 million points.

He had already planned to prioritize Feebas's evolution.

---

"How do I use this...?"

Looking at the hard, shimmering scale in his hand, Riku was momentarily stumped.

It was solid—Feebas probably couldn't eat it.

Wasting 100,000 points wasn't the problem.

He was just worried Feebas might choke… or worse.

After all, the prettier something was, the more dangerous it could be.

In the end, Kyogre stepped in to help.

Riku gently placed the Prism Scale on Feebas's body.

---

And just like that—

Feebas burst into a dazzling light.
