Chapter 104 - Chapter 104

"Dad, the island ahead is Master's."

"It's alright, I guess."

"Although it's not big, it has everything inside."

Sitting on Charizard's back, Charmander kept looking into the distance. When the island gradually came into view, it immediately reminded Charizard with great excitement.

"Roar roar!"

Seeing Charmander a bit too excited, Charizard scolded, "Sit still. Your dad isn't blind. What's the rush?"

"If you lose your balance and fall later, I won't care about you!"

Charizard was a bit helpless. Leaf's suggestion and invitation had been too sincere to refuse. And since Leaf was strong and willing to protect their group, Charizard naturally agreed to come along.

Scolded by its father, Charmander quieted down and planned to give a proper introduction once they landed on the island.

Soon, the island fully appeared before them.

"Charmander, take your dad to look around the island," Leaf called out from below, riding on Lapras and waving up at them. "I have to send the two beauties back first. Charizard, don't rush to leave—stay for a meal before going back."

After receiving a response from the Charmander father and son, Leaf had Lapras swim toward Citrus Island.

Sending Serena and Dawn back was only part of the reason—both had Water-type Pokémon and could return on their own, even if a bit uncomfortably.

The real reason was Charizard's visit. As a parent seeing where its child now lived, Leaf wanted to leave a good impression and show that Charmander was doing well.

That had been the case with Ralts—and now with Charmander.

Every parent's trust weighed on Leaf's heart, and he didn't want to let them down.

---

Flap flap…

Not long after Leaf left, Charizard remained hovering in the sky, trembling slightly with hesitation.

"Awoo…"

"Dad, what's wrong?" Charmander asked in confusion. "Why aren't you flying onto the island? Master said we should go in first and wait."

"There are a few Pokémon under Master's command that I don't like. When we get to the wooden house later, help me teach them a lesson. Don't beat them up—just show your muscles. I believe those guys who look like they can't fight will—"

"Wait, child, don't talk." Charizard cut it off seriously.

"I can sense the aura of Mythical Pokémon on your master's island."

"And there's more than one. In the future, you must never mess around here. Be careful with your words and actions—"

Flap flap…

Roar roar roar!

Just as Charizard was sternly lecturing Charmander, a Flying-type Pokémon rapidly approached.

Charizard stiffened, ready for conflict, thinking it might be a Mythical Pokémon.

But when it saw Aerodactyl flying toward them, it exhaled with relief.

Though Aerodactyl carried a powerful aura—Elite Four-level at the very least—Charizard itself was also Elite Four-level. A fair fight wasn't something to fear.

But if it had been a Mythical Pokémon... that would've been a different matter entirely.

Mythical Pokémon had their own territories. Ordinary and lower-level Pokémon could come and go freely, but Pokémon like Charizard needed permission to enter.

And while most Mythical Pokémon didn't bother with such things... who could guarantee they wouldn't meet a serious one?

---

"Roar! Charizard, leave this place!" Aerodactyl barked with an aggressive tone. "Otherwise, I will attack immediately!"

Its rude attitude irritated Charizard.

"Who do you think you are?" Charizard flared up. "You're being rude to me. Let's see how rude you can be after this!"

"Child, hold on tight! Watch how your dad teaches this Aerodactyl a lesson!"

"Roar!!" Aerodactyl responded, equally incensed. Had this Charizard lost its mind?

Both were Elite Four-level, but didn't this hothead sense the Mythical Pokémon auras below?

Leaf once thought Aerodactyl rarely appeared and wasn't close to him, but in truth, Aerodactyl had been assigned by the Mythical Pokémon to patrol the island.

Leaf didn't know this. The Mythical Pokémon had arranged it because they were afraid of being discovered—five of them residing on one island would shake the entire Pokémon world if the news got out.

When Leaf wasn't around, they sometimes returned to their true forms.

Kyogre would go out to sea when hungry.

The legendary birds returned to their nests.

Only Groudon was too lazy to move.

So, to avoid discovery, having an Elite Four-level Flying-type patrolling was a must.

---

"Do you know what this place is?" Aerodactyl warned, restraining itself.

"There are Mythical Pokémon on the island below."

"I am the patrol envoy designated by them. If you dare to cause trouble, your life could be forfeit."

"You Charizard have fiery tempers, I get that. But don't put that Charmander you're carrying in danger. That's your child, isn't it?"

"Be a Pokémon, but also be a father."

Aerodactyl's words were sharp, but they hit home.

Charizard calmed immediately.

Yes—it was still carrying Charmander. A battle between Elite Four-levels would be too dangerous.

---

"Actually, I came because I was invited by the island's master," Charizard said.

"Island master?" Aerodactyl raised an eyebrow. "A young trainer? What Pokémon does he have?"

"Lapras, Milotic, and Gengar…" Charizard began.

Then it turned and asked, "Child, what else?"

"There's also a Metagross and a cute Ralts—both are Shiny, very beautiful. Oh, and five other Pokémon that look kind of weak. I don't know about them…"

"Wait, wait!" Aerodactyl was stunned.

"Master? This Charmander was caught by the island's master?"

"That's right," Charizard replied calmly. "Otherwise, why would he invite me? If the Mythical Pokémon truly didn't want me here, I'd already be—"

"No, no! No one said you weren't welcome!" Aerodactyl interrupted, its attitude flipping completely.

Now it bowed slightly—the Charmander on Charizard's back was royalty!

To Aerodactyl, becoming Leaf's Pokémon was like ascending to the heavens. A prince among Pokémon—no exaggeration.

It, too, had wanted to be caught, but the Mythical Pokémon had warned it to keep working hard, promising rewards later.

So far... those rewards hadn't appeared.

---

"What do you mean?" Charizard narrowed its eyes.

You're suddenly so welcoming?

Aerodactyl scrambled for an explanation: "Actually, the Mythical Pokémon have a great relationship with the island's master."

"Otherwise, why would they live on the same island as a human?"

"In fact, the master can ask them for help if needed."

"So exaggerated!" Charizard's eyes widened.

"I knew that guy wasn't simple, but to be able to command Mythical Pokémon…"

"I won't say more," Aerodactyl warned. "But you'd better not approach the wooden house."

"Your child may be his Pokémon, but you're not."

"You can't just bring the whole family. After all, this is the Mythical Pokémon's residence."

"I understand, I understand." At that moment, Charizard felt like a human dad dropping off his child at an elite school—blocked by the security guard but still proud.

---

Under Aerodactyl's watch, Charizard set Charmander down and flew off.

Leaf's dinner invitation was long forgotten.

As it flew away, Charizard roared loudly with joy.

Its child's future was bright. Their group was now under protection. This deal was a win-win.

Maybe it should work harder when it returned—find a strong Charmeleon and maybe lay another egg...

---

Meanwhile, Charmander, having overheard the entire conversation, became cautious.

Even a child like it had heard tales of Mythical Pokémon.

But the caution didn't last.

When Groudon arrogantly told it to take out the trash, Charmander immediately exploded.

It didn't hesitate to clash with the Mythical Pokémon.

Yet toward Ralts, it acted like an older brother—protective and gentle.

If Ralts wanted something, Charmander would drop everything and rush over wagging its tail.

Ralts liked Charmander too—especially its tail.

Sometimes, Ralts would sneak up and blow on its flame like it was a candle.

---

One hour later.

Leaf returned.

Finding Charizard gone, he sighed. He had bought so many ingredients... Charizard missed out on a feast.

Charmander hadn't tasted Leaf's cooking the night before due to the late return.

At first, when it saw the Mythical Pokémon fighting over food, it felt some disdain.

But after a few bites, it joined in and devoured everything.

A thought quietly settled in Charmander's heart—

> Even if beaten to death, it would never leave Leaf.

Being able to eat this kind of food every day, it was worth losing ten years of life!
