Chapter 6 - 006

Rays of sun and the sound of the maid coming inside the room woke Tristan up.

He sat up slowly while rubbing his eyes with the back of his hand.

The maid took a pause as she was about to wake him up.

She had been the one to get the suppressant the Alpha asked for earlier this morning and was surprised in the position she had met them.

"The Alpha asked you to come down to join him for breakfast" She said softly as she tried to remove the covers around his body.

Tristan frowned at her words and stared at her in confusion.

The Alpha?

He thought in confusion for a few seconds until his mind cleared and everything that happened came rushing back.

Tristan gasped and looked at her with widened eyes.

"Are you alright?" She asked and looked around him in confusion.

"I'm not hungry" Tristan replied and fell back on his back while pulling the covers over his head.

His heart rate quickened and a blush of embarrassment crept up his cheeks.

What if his secret had gotten exposed because of his carelessness?

How can he forget his suppressant?.

"I'm such a fool" he thought in despair.

A look of helplessness crossed the maid's face.

As the personal maid assigned to the Alpha's mate, it's her duty to see to his needs. And since the Alpha requested she bring the Omega down for breakfast she has no choice but to do so.

"The Alpha is leaving for a pack meeting today and might not come back for the next few days, won't you like to see him before he leaves?" She asked.

Hoping vehemently, her words were able to convince him.

He is leaving for a few days?

Tristan thought happily and slowly dropped the cover away from his head.

That means he would have a few days to settle into this strange life that he never asked for.

"Do I only have to come down to breakfast?" He asked meekly.

"Yes, but first let me help you get ready because you can't go in your nightwear". She replied.

Tristan groaned as he recalled the contents of the clothes in the closet.

Tristan walked behind the maid as she led him to the dining room.

His palms were sweaty as uncertainty filled him with fear.

He was sure nothing had happened between them but he wasn't sure what he had done while his mind was muddled.

They entered the dining room and the Alpha raised his head at their entrance.

Their eyes met for a few seconds and Tristan looked away as if his eyes were about to set him on fire.

He lower gaze and did not look up even after he had sat down.

Alpha Mitch watched in slight annoyance and amusement.

A rogue attack was reported to him this morning.

He would be away for a few days and wanted to see the Omega before he left but now he was regretting waiting. The sudden heat early this morning had surprised him but he suddenly wanted to kiss his pouty lips again.

Involuntarily, his eyes locked on his lips and he looked away as wild thought ran through his mind.

They ate in silence as neither had anything to say but Tristan was very nervous.

The Alpha had looked pissed when he had his eyes on him.

Did he find out the truth?

He thought as fear rode through his body.

His phone rang loudly causing him to jump visibly before he slowly picked it up.

He ended the call and continued to eat but it rang up again causing Tristan's hand to tremble as he struggled to pick it up.

"Can you just answer the call?" The Alpha said in a low voice causing him to look up at him.

Their eyes met again and Tristan could not help but stare in awe.

The silver linings in his eyes seemed to draw him in and he wished the situation was different and the Alpha doesn't hate him or he does not have a secret that could get him killed.

He would have clung to him and gotten a whiff of his scent.

"Won't you answer the call?" Alpha King Mitch asked again and this snapped him out of his daydreaming.

Tristan picked the call and winced immediately as the voice from the other end sounded so loud.

"Tristan, where are you?!

We had a test yesterday and our assignment is due to be submitted today and you are not here now". His best friend, Nita said through the phone.

Tristan looked up at the Alpha to see if he was listening and was relieved to see he wasn't.

"I'm not coming today either," Tristan replied softly.

"What happened?

Are you alright?" Nita asked in worry, but Tristan ended the call as he does not want her to say anything that can make the Alpha suspicious.

Or leak his secret.

Alpha Mitch frowned as he smelled the Omega's fear clouding the room.

What could make him so scared to be in his presence?

He thought in anger.

He just wanted to eat in peace and nothing more.

Since his Beta asked him to try to get to know the Omega and he is putting in extra effort to do so, it seemed not to be working.

Alpha Mitch pushed his seat back and walked out of the room without a single word to the Omega.

Tristan looked at his retreating back with a look of bewilderment.

The half eaten meal on the Alpha's plate made him anxious.

Was he mad at me?

He thought as he swallowed the food he was chewing with some difficulties.

The Alpha left the Mansion without seeing him again and that made Tristan extremely uncomfortable that he skipped lunch and refused to have dinner.

"The food is getting cold, should I bring it here for you?" His maid stood at the foot of the bed and tried to persuade him.

"No, I just want to sleep," Tristan replied with his back turned to her.

"What is wrong?" A voice said suddenly startling both of them.
