Chapter 47 - Naruto: I am Uchiha Fugaku [47]

All the Shisui clones moved simultaneously, charging from different directions with their tantō blades aimed at Uchiha Obito.

Swish! Swish! Swish!

Obito struck down each attacking Shisui with the branch in his hand but every time, it was only a clone.

Even if he could sense the deadly arc of the blade slicing through the air, the instant it landed, the enemy would vanish into smoke.

He kept destroying clones, but more and more took their place, endlessly regenerating.

He was being pushed back!

"Hmph. You've angered me, brat."

With a cold snort, Obito activated Kamui's intangibility to ignore the attacks and pulled back from the swarm of Shisuis.

Then, a swirling vortex opened in the air before him.

Whizz! Whizz! Whizz!

Countless kunai shot out of the vortex, each one tied with an explosive tag.

Using Kamui, he connected to a different space where time stood still. He could store and release objects at will like these kunai laden with explosives.

He could even unleash jutsu stored within the dimension.

Boom! Boom! Boom!

A wave of explosions erupted.

The bedroom and the entire house collapsed under the bombardment.

Smoke and debris billowed into the sky. The site was reduced to a heap of rubble: shattered tiles, broken beams, cracked stones, all jumbled like a trash pile.

From within the ruins, Uchiha Obito stood untouched. Kamui's intangibility had kept him completely unharmed.

Suddenly—

From the direction where the bedroom had been, the debris exploded outward, revealing a massive skeletal figure.

The gigantic skeleton was composed of glowing green bones. Though only its upper half was visible, it already towered several meters high.

Inside the skeleton stood Uchiha Shisui unscathed. But streaks of blood trickled from his eyes.

"Susanoo," Obito said flatly, naming the powerful dōjutsu technique Shisui had just revealed.

He wasn't surprised that Shisui had survived. A Mangekyō Sharingan user wasn't so easy to kill.

But he couldn't help but envy Shisui's Susanoo.

With only one eye, he himself was unable to activate it unless he took back the Sharingan currently in Kakashi's possession.

"What's going on?! Who's fighting?!"

"It's Shisui! Shisui's in battle!"

"That masked man is the enemy!"

"What is that massive green skeleton around Shisui?!"

The commotion had alerted the nearby Uchiha. Seeing their clan prodigy engaged in combat, several immediately rushed in to assist.

"Don't come any closer!" Shisui shouted.

Uchiha Madara's dōjutsu was too bizarre. No matter how many regular shinobi attacked, they wouldn't be able to harm him—and would only be slaughtered in return.

But it was already too late.

"Wood Style: Cutting Sprigs!"

Obito sneered beneath his mask. Thick wooden branches extended from both his arms.

He ignored the incoming attacks and turned to impale two approaching Uchiha.

He showed no hesitation even toward his own former clansmen. After all, he had no qualms killing even his own sensei.

Splurt!

The sharpened branches pierced clean through both Uchiha shinobi.

Inside their bodies, the branches rapidly multiplied, sprouting out from all directions.

Their eyes froze mid-expression as they collapsed to the ground, lifeless.

Obito let go of the branches and extended two more from his arms, charging toward another pair of Uchiha.

"Stop!" Shisui roared.

Susanoo's green hand stretched forth, trying to seize Obito.

But Obito turned intangible again, passing through it effortlessly—before killing the next two Uchiha with his branches.

"Don't approach him! Fall back and use long-range jutsu together!"

Having seen his strange ability firsthand, the remaining Uchiha became wary and kept their distance.

They retreated, preparing to attack from afar.

"Fire Style: Great Fireball Jutsu!"

"Fire Style: Phoenix Sage Fire Technique!"

"Fire Style: Dragon Flame Jutsu!"

A barrage of fire-style jutsu rained down on Obito.

He looked at the increasing number of arriving Uchiha and made his decision.

"That's enough for tonight."

Even if none of them posed an individual threat, the growing coordination of so many Uchiha made killing Shisui impossible.

"You'll regret refusing me."

Obito cast one last glance at Shisui—

Buzz...

A vortex spun into existence. His body twisted into it and vanished without a trace.

Once he was sure Obito had truly left, Shisui dispelled his Susanoo.

As he did, he realized his vision had worsened again.

What Obito said was true if this continued, he'd eventually go blind.

"Shisui, who was that enemy just now?"

A crowd of Uchiha surrounded him.

"That man is the Wood Style bloodline user who opposes the Hidden Leaf," Shisui replied.

He didn't mention the name "Uchiha Madara."

Partly because he still wasn't entirely convinced of the identity.

And more importantly such critical information should be reported directly to the Hokage and left to him to decide whether to reveal it.

"So it was him who killed Uchiha Sen?"

"And just now, he killed four more of our kin!"

Many were furious—but some couldn't take their eyes off Shisui and asked, visibly excited:

"Shisui, what jutsu was that just now?"

"Wait... don't tell me you've awakened...?"

They were the upper echelon of the Uchiha clan.

Ordinary members knew little of the Mangekyō Sharingan, but the higher-ups did.

The technique Shisui had used resembled the Susanoo described in ancient clan records.

They couldn't help but suspect it—had Shisui awakened the Mangekyō Sharingan? Something the clan hadn't seen since Madara's era?

"…Yes. I have awakened the Mangekyō Sharingan."

Seeing that there was no point hiding it anymore, Shisui admitted it.

"That's incredible!"

"The Uchiha have finally produced another Mangekyō user!"

"Shisui awakened the Mangekyō Sharingan? Seriously?!"

Excitement and elation rippled through the Uchiha elite.

And when word reached the general members, they erupted into fervor.

Uchiha Fugaku stood with a calm smile as if genuinely pleased by the news.

But deep down, he sighed.

Shisui hadn't wanted his Mangekyō to be revealed, and Fugaku hadn't intended to publicize it either because this wasn't necessarily a good thing.

Now that it was known, calls for rebellion within the clan would only grow louder.

If Shisui's loyalty lay with the Uchiha, it might not be so bad.

With Kotoamatsukami and the Mangekyō Sharingan, a coup would have a high chance of success.

Unfortunately...

He was a white-eyed wolf who sided with outsiders.
