A royal doctor entered the room, followed by a team of nurses. They carried various medical equipment and magical supplies, ready to check on Ophelia. They bowed respectfully to the King and Queen before addressing them. "Your Majesties, we need to perform a thorough examination on the princess, to ensure that her health is well."
Jubilius waved his hand dismissively. "Yes, yes. Do what you must. We can't have our heir developing... strange magic."
Sophie reluctantly handed Ophelia over to the nurses, her protective instincts warring with her trust in the medical staff. The nurses carefully carried Ophelia to a separate room, followed by the doctor who continued to discuss her condition in hushed tones.
Jubilius watched them leave, a calculating look on his face. "We'll need to keep a close eye on her development."
Sophie took a deep breath, wringing her hands. "I just hope they can help her. She's so different from other babies."
Alicia sat down on the edge of the bed, still looking thoughtful. "I wonder if she'll be able to develop Divine Skills at an early age. That would make her even more special, like me." Said the princess giggling.
In the other room, the nurses began their assessment, taking measurements and checking Ophelia's vitals. They seemed particularly fascinated by an unusual power that resided within this child, but to Ophelia's surprise, the doctor's demeanor suddenly changed. "This is perfect." His professional facade shattered like glass as a sly smile crossed his face, glancing at his colleagues.
One of the nurses leaned in, speaking in a hushed tone. "Yes, we can finally begin our operation." She said, smug as ever. "We could make a fortune selling this child. Look at her - pure royal blood, and she's practically in our hands now."
("Huh? What the hell is going on?") Ophelia heard everything, glancing at the nurses from the examination table with wide eyes.
One of the nurses nodded eagerly, lowering their voice. "We just need to find a buyer who's desperate enough. The king and queen will do anything to get her back."
Another nurse smirked. "And if they refuse? We can always make it... difficult for them. The slave market in the eastern territories is always looking for rare merchandise."
Grambosia was in the Northern Region of Algunita, and it was known as one of the most peaceful nations compared to the East, West, and South.
"I may have someone who's willing to buy this child in slavery." The doctor pulled out a small, tattered photo from his pocket, and showed it to the others. The picture showed a beautiful woman with white hair and a cold expression. The doctor whispered excitedly. "This is Valentina. She's perfect! She practically owns all of the Eastern territory since she's the Leader of the Rogue Guild. I heard she stopped by Grambosia not too long ago, manipulating the general public in disguise. Fun fact, rumors suggest that she killed an Otherwielder just so she could take something called a "phone". It's considered a valuable item in Algunita."
As Ophelia lay on the examination table, her tiny body tensed with confusion and fear. Her violet eyes widened as she caught sight of Valentina's photo through the window. ("It's her...") Ophelia's face paled as her small fists clenched. She remembered everything about Valentina—her betrayal, her smile, and how she got her killed in her past life as Yuto. Every memory flooded back with terrifying clarity. ("That bitch! She wasn't even an adventurer, but a snake all along! Killing me... just for a phone? Was my life really that worthless? I'll make her pay...")
One of the nurses shivered. "Ah... I've heard of her! She's known for being... brutal with her slaves. But if we can deliver this one to her, she'll pay whatever price we ask."
The doctor tucked the photo away, a gleam of greed in his eyes. "We'll stage an 'accident.' Make it look like the princess was kidnapped by bandits or something. By the time the royal family realizes she's gone, it'll be too late."
Another nurse nodded with excitement. "This is our greatest plan yet! We have to be sneaky about this... or we'll suffer a punishment far worse than terrorists."
The group exchanged conspiratorial glances, their true intentions clear. They saw Ophelia not as a princess, but as a potential profit.
("This world is corrupt...!") Ophelia couldn't believe what she was hearing, but it only fueled her desire to burn this world to the ground. ("All of you are wicked pigs! Every last one of you!")
Suddenly, a powerful surge of energy erupted from Ophelia's small body. The room trembled as dark purple flames burst forth, enveloping her protectively.
The doctor and nurses screamed in terror, as the air crackled with raw magical power, causing equipment to explode and shatter. They felt themselves thrown backward by the force of her aura, slamming against the walls with terrified screams. Their plan had awakened something dangerous within her.
"What... what is this? She's... she's not human!" The doctor clutched his chest, his face draining of color.
Ophelia's violet eyes blazed with fury, her tiny body radiating an aura of pure chaos. The once-innocent baby had transformed into something otherworldly as her magical aura began to swirl together, forming a humanoid shape.
[Initiating Cardinal Sin System. Summoning one of the Seven Deadly Sins: Wrath.]
The nurses tried to crawl away as their voices shook with fear. "This isn't possible! We need to get out of here before she kills us all!"
The doctor scrambled to his feet, his face pale with fear as he watched an humanoid entity manifest before their eyes. "What... what is this? What is this power?!"
("I'll kill them... I'll kill them all... every... last... one!")
As Ophelia's rage reached its peak, her magical energy finally coalesced into a humanoid form as a dark, shadowy entity towered over the terrified doctor and nurses. It extended a large broadsword that reached five feet in length, and one foot in width.
"Kyaaaahhh!" The nurse let out a blood-curdling scream as the entity spoke in a distorted, echoing voice that seemed to come from everywhere at once.
"You dare to touch what is mine?" The room grew colder, shadows dancing along the walls as the entity advanced on the doctor. The air was thick with dark magic, and the very foundation of the room seemed to tremble under its power.
"Please... mercy! We didn't know she was... she was..." The doctor joined their hands together in a prayer—his earlier confidence completely shattered.
Ophelia, still blinded by her rage, got up to her hands and knees and pointed at the doctor, her eyes burning with fury.
"K..i..ll..." Speaking as an infant, the dark humanoid figure turned around with a deadly sneer.
"Gladly, Master Ophelia!!" With a swift, brutal motion, the entity swung its massive 5-foot sword, cleaving the doctor in half with a sickening crunch. Blood sprayed across the room as his body fell into two separate pieces.
"Oh... God...!" One of the nurses vomited on the floor, her face deathly pale. She couldn't tear her eyes away from the gruesome sight, the horror of what she had witnessed searing into her mind.
"For those who threaten my master, they shall face my insatiable Wrath!" The entity turned its attention to the vomiting nurse, its shadowy form looming over her. The air grew thick with the metallic scent of blood and burning flesh.
The nurse whimpered pathetically, tears streaming down her face as she begged for her life. "I'm sorry! I'm so sorry! Please don't kill me!"
Slowly, but surely, the darkness around the entity faded away, revealing a tall woman with pale skin, white hair, and dark red eyes. With ram-like horns and a slim tail with a pointed tip that stretched behind her back, she frowned at their cowardice. With a slender, voluptuous body, and a business suit with high heels, you could easily mistake her for some Secretary.
"And why should I?" The entity wasted no time as its blade moved in a blur, executing the nurse in front of her. The remaining nurses tried to run, but she caught up with them in no time, hacking and slashing. Each swing of the sword was precise and calculated, leaving no survivors. The nurses' screams echoed through the room as their agonized cries were cut short as they were torn apart.
Ophelia watched with deadly eyes, uncaring for their deaths. This is what they deserved.
"Kaaahh!" The last nurse fell after their head was severed. The floor was slick with gore, intestines, and mutilated limbs strewn about. The once-sterile room now resembled a scene from hell, the stench of death filling the air.
The entity stood amidst the carnage, her figure now surrounded by a reddish aura of rage. They were still dripping with blood as they turned to face Ophelia, their massive breasts weighing down as they bowed deeply before her. "My apologies for the mess, Master. Your enemies have been dealt with." The red aura around her body slightly faded and was replaced by an almost reverent energy. She spoke in a softer, more respectful tone. "My name is Ulysses, the Sin of Wrath, my very nature embodies your Rage, and I've come to serve you and stay by your side, Master."
Ophelia, now surrounded by death and destruction, stared at the Sin with wide eyes. Her small body trembled, but there was no fear in her expression - only a deep understanding of the power she held.
"Ulysses... my name is Ophelia Grovenheart." Said the newborn baby, now sitting on its bum as it crossed its arms. "You're part of me, correct?" The entity nodded as its red eyes locked onto Ophelia's violet ones. A strange connection seemed to form between them.
"I see... how did you come about?" Asked the infant, curious.
The entity's voice carried a hint of pride as it responded. "I am a part of your Cardinal Sin System. I exist to protect and serve you, to unleash the true power of your Wrath." Ophelia's small face lit up with recognition, her previous anger replaced by curiosity. "There also exists the Sin of Greed, Pride, Lust, Envy, Gluttony, and Sloth. You can give life to these sins by experiencing them yourself, just like how you experienced rage. Thus I was born."
Ophelia lowered her head to stare at the ground in thought. She realized just how much power she obtained from that Chaotic Goddess.
"So, to summon the Sin of Greed, I must be greedy? And to summon the Sin of Pride, I must be prideful? Is that what you're saying?" Asked the infant.
"Yes, Master, I exist as nothing more than pure, unbridled rage. That is what I embody by nature, and the same could be said for my other brothers and sisters that have not yet to be born; representing their respective sin."
"Hmm, I see..." Ophelia lifted her hand, manifesting a magic circle. "Appraisal." Utilizing magic, Ulysses' Foundation System appeared, showing her level, race, strength, speed, magical power, durability, and skills.
[Name: Ulysses
Age: 2 Minutes(?)
Race: Abstract Entity
Magical Power: Varies
Strength: Varies
Speed: Varies
Durability: Varies
Skills: Unknown]
"Hmm..." Ophelia rubbed underneath her baby chin in thought. "It says your power varies, why is that?" She asked, facing the abstract entity.
"My power depends on your rage, Master." She bowed her head in respect, placing her hand against her chest. "The angrier you're, the more powerful I become, that is the nature of my existence."
"Intriguing. And what of this Cardinal Sin System?" Swiping aside Ulysses' Foundation System, the newborn materialized a translucent screen in front of her; similar to the ones seen in video games. Going to her skill section, she could see the system hub glow with an eerie purple light, displaying various icons and stats. At the center was a representation of Wrath that was red, alongside the other Seven Deadly Sins that were black, indicating they hadn't been unlocked.
"The Cardinal Sin System is yours to command." Ophelia touched the Wrath icon, causing it to expand and reveal more detailed information about her sin. There was a whole backstory on the Sin of Wrath, but Ophelia closed the Foundation System for now.
"This day couldn't get any better." A wicked grin crossed the infant's face. "This was the power gifted to me by the God of Chaos... and with it, this world can finally know my name."
