"What is this?"
Arlecchino was surprised by this sudden phenomenon, she just touched the corpse and it dissipated in to light particles.
Then her gaze turned towards the items that dropped to the ground.
"System, please store these items in the inventory"
The system immediately compiled with her request and items disappeared from the ground.
Then she proceded to do the same thing to the other 19 corpses.
After she was done dealing with the corpses and the items they dropped, Arlecchino took out "Jack Sparrow's Compass" this compass in outward appearance looked quite ordinary but she would not judge it based on appearance alone.
The moment the compass was taken out it's pointer started to spin as if disoriented, but this only lasted for a few seconds as the pointer finally stabilised, pointing to a certain direction.
Arlecchino turned towards the pointed out direction and all she saw was still the never ending sea of trees and a mountain range.
What she is looking for now is a place to make a temporary base, at the beginning she planned to just keep exploring the forest in search of monsters to fight to get battle experience in this new younger body.
But she gained too many rewards too quickly, this made her change her current objectives, what she needed now was a place to train and completely digest her gains.
And besides she could still fight monsters wandering near her base, so she could still gain battle experience.
After determining the direction, she did not waste any more time and started her journey once more.

Activating presence concealment, she walked through the endless maze of trees once more.
While walking Arlecchino called out the achievements screen.

3.) Monster Hunter (i)
Description: kill more than 10 monsters.
Rewards: 100 Threads of Fate.
After checking her new achievement, she was about to check the loot she got from the monster corpses, when her danger intuition started sending her danger signals.
[Passive skill - Danger Intuition - Activated]
Immediately, Arlecchino drew out murasame while becoming extremely alert. But even after a few moments there was no signs of monsters around her.

Doubtful, she activated Spirit Vision, the moment her visual perspective changed she finally realised what made her danger intuition go off.
About 5 meters in front of her were a group of 7 ghosts, just ghosts wouldn't surprise her, what surprised her was that these ghosts did not have monster-like forms.
Instead they were humanoid and a few amoung them had monster-like features.
"Human and Yokai souls that became ghosts after death"
"Yokai souls are understandable. After all since this forest is filled with monsters, some of them may have evolved in to Yokai, although it's rare it's still within the realm of possibility."
"But Human souls..... hmm... not to mention the system used the corpse of a young human girl, possibly from a royal lineage to create my new body, this entire situation is strange no matter how you see it."
Arlecchino was surprised and suspicious, humans and other intelligent races mostly avoided exploring "Silverveil Great Forest" due to how dangerous it is.
Even Yokai from outside the forest would not step in to this forest without good reason.
The sheer quantity of monsters living in this forest is a headache to many. Therefore they mostly avoided this forest.
But now humans have obviously arrived in this forest, which is very strange and suspicious.
Arlecchino observed the ghosts, but till now they did not attack her, and only stared at her with their empty eyes.
Ghosts and similar spiritual beings could notice her become what they see is the souls of living creatures and nothing else.
"Active Skill - Presence Concealment" can conceal her presence, scent, sounds, chaos essence aura, etc. But for now it doesn't have the power to hide her soul.
In other words beings who can see souls could detect her presence.
Seeing them not taking the initiative to attack, she cautiously approached them, but even when she was only a few feet from them, they still did not attack.
"Strange.... it seems they don't plan to attack at all"
"Sigh... in that case, I'll just ignore them"
Sighing, Arlecchino ignored the strange ghosts and kept moving in the direction the compass pointed to. She did not want to waste time on these weak undead.
After about an hour of walking, she started to notice somethings, the more she moved forward the higher the concentration of chaos essence in her surroundings became.
And within this hour of walking she encountered many ghosts formed from human and Yokai souls. All of them noticed her but did not attack.
And even weirder is that she did not encounter any monsters at all during this hour of travel.
These strange situations made her want to investigate this forest more and more.
As she moved forward she could see that the compass is pointing towards the mountain range she saw before.
"Hmm.... that sound?"
Suddenly, a sound in the distance caught her attention, she was quite familiar with this sound, it's the sound of flowing water.
Without letting her guard down, Arlecchino increased her speed, and soon a stream appeared in her line of sight, it wasn't particularly large and the water was very clear at first glance.
The danger intuition and spirit vision did not detect anything dangerous near the stream.
So she slowly approached the stream, while carefully observing all around her. And that's when she noticed white silk-like substance hanging from some of the trees around the stream.
Curious, Arlecchino approached such a tree and observed these white threads. These white threads had residual chaos essence on them.
"A spider type monster... looking at the size of these threads it should be quite large in size, if this is its territory, then I should be more careful moving forward"
Seeing these spider threads reminded Arlecchino of a pet she ones had, but unfortunately passed away when she was a child.
"... Sigh"
"When did I start becoming so emotional about the past, and after all the lectures I gave to Freminet about controlling his emotions, and emotions being a produt of weakness...."
Arlecchino let out a bitter chuckle, it seems she has grown soft and needed to retrain her self.
