Chapter 9 - Chapter 6: A Warning in the Dark

The clock on the wall ticked softly as the minute hand landed on 9:30 PM.After a long Conversation between his sister and Mira.

Tae-hyun stood in the hallway, stretching his arms as he glanced at the clock. "You two should get to bed now," he said gently, turning to his younger sisters.

"Yes, oppa," they said politely, their voices sweet and sleepy.

He watched as they walked into the third room, closing the door softly behind them. He smiled faintly. Taking care of them was hard, but it was the only thing that kept him going. He sighed and turned back to the dimly lit living room.

Just then, **Mira** appeared.

And said this apartment is looking so expensive how could you manage to buy this...And She stepped in close too close and Tae-hyun immediately tensed. Her perfume was strong, her eyes gleaming with something he couldn't quite trust. And said only came to give you some information and talk about something...

Tae -hyun replied this apartment is from my job..and why you came here I need a valid reason....and let's talk in my room....

"Well, well," she whispered, brushing a finger down his arm. "Do you have any dirty plans tonight… you naughty boy?"

Tae-hyun didn't flinch. He stared at her coldly. "Why are you here?" he asked flatly. "We already moved far away from that place. I don't care where you go or what you do. I only came here because I had no choice. My uncle got involved, and I can't afford to offend them...

Mira's smile slowly faded.

Tae-hyun voice suddenly laced with quiet and he mockery . "So your family… still crawling around like loyal lap dogs?"

Her eyes narrowed. "You bastard," she said....

Tae-hyun's expression didn't change. "Don't use that kind of language in this house. My little sisters are sleeping just a few steps away."

Mira chuckled bitterly. "They were so small the last time I saw them. Now they're grown. But I guess… they'll just end up losers too, like always."

Tae-hyun's eyes darkened. His jaw tightened, but he didn't raise his voice. "You should leave now."

Mira didn't move. She stared at him for a long moment, then said something unexpected.

"I'm going. But I came here to give you a message. *That man said*..... he wants you to stay alert."

Tae-hyun's eyes widened slightly. "What man?"

"He said… beware of the lizards. They smile at you but stab you in the back when you're not looking."

A cold chill ran down Tae-hyun's spine. He knew exactly who she was talking about. If *that person* had sent a warning, then something serious was already happening. He could feel it.

Mira continued, her tone lower now. "Also… he said that to.................in Seoul...

That's the next step."And don't worry you can easily work for your boss because he was going to assign the next task to you go Seoul.....

Tae-hyun took a step back, his heart pounding. The message was clear—and dangerous.

He barely managed to whisper, "What… what comes after that?"

Mira didn't answer. She just smiled that same mysterious, poisonous smile… and walked away into the shadows of the hallway.

Tae-hyun stood there, frozen, his thoughts racing.

He knew one thing for s

ure. The quiet days were over.

To be continued...
