Chapter 4 - Chapter 04(Edited)

Since Xu Yuan secured the first zombie kill, the system rewarded him with a prize.

The reward system delivered the items directly to his inventory. The first-kill reward from the system consisted of a land deed and 5 gold coins.

Xu Yuan was momentarily stunned when he saw the gold coins appear in his inventory. But then he thought: in an online game, currency is essential. Players trade and barter with each other. It's only natural.

His eyes shifted to the land deed, and his face lit up with excitement. He quickly examined the details.

[Land Deed]: Grants the right to use the designated land in "Minecraft." Once selected, all blocks within this area cannot be destroyed by other players.

[Current Area]: 40×40 meters (expandable with gold coins).

Reading the details, Xu Yuan's hands trembled slightly with anticipation.

He had been pondering a crucial problem—his "foothold" in this world. Unlike traditional Minecraft, this game is a full-server experience. All players share the same map—except for bedrock, all blocks are destructible.

This meant that even if he found a safe spot and built a house, it could be razed in minutes by passing players or wandering mobs. He had to think strategically: build hidden bases, or hide everything in a "box" to avoid detection.

This was highly inconvenient. With the land deed, however, he could establish a secure base openly—no need to hide. He could build a proper home, protected by the deed's rights.

Most importantly, the deed could be expanded using gold coins. This meant that, as long as Xu Yuan amassed enough currency, his land could grow larger and larger.

*"If I had enough money, could I buy the entire world?"* Xu Yuan chuckled at the thought, amused by the idea.

Of course, expanding a deed to cover the entire world was impossible—no game would allow that. But the idea sparked a new goal:

*"Let's start small. Build a main city—a hub for trading, shops, and perhaps even a base for other players."*

He envisioned a bustling city, with shops selling everything from supplies to equipment, and space rented out to other players—making a profit even when he was offline.

In this world, land deeds were rare; most players had no protection, constantly worried about their homes being destroyed or stolen from. Xu Yuan could leverage this scarcity—rent out land, earn resources, and establish dominance.

*"In the real world, I can't be a landlord… but in this game, I can be a charter owner."*

He looked at his current land area: 40×40 meters, which was sufficient for now.

To upgrade or expand, he needed 10 gold coins—yet the source of these coins was uncertain. Perhaps from monster drops, but the chances were slim.

He stored the deed away for now, knowing he had to focus on survival and resource gathering. Everything else could wait until dawn.

Meanwhile, the world's chat channel was exploding.

**"What?! Steve got the first zombie kill?!"**

**"No way! That guy is a beast—so fierce!"**

**"Hey, guide me, I'll pay a high price!"**

**"Is this the big boss? I don't understand anything, but I want to learn how to slaughter zombies!"**

The players quickly realized that the first-kill reward system was broadcasting across the server, and the prizes were likely substantial.

Motivated by this, many players abandoned their confusion and began hunting in the darkness, eager to find their own prey—whether zombies, skeletons, creepers, or spiders.

Meanwhile, on Xu Yuan's side, his "pedicure shop" had attracted two new "customers"—a zombie and a white skeleton.

Xu Yuan noticed the white skeleton's slender, white thighs (cough), and his eyes lit up with a mischievous spark.

*"If the first kill of a zombie grants such a reward, maybe I can do the same with Skeleton…"* he thought.

He raised his stone sword and swung it at the skeleton, ready to strike.
