Chapter 39 - Chapter 39

"Don't worry, we all have gold armor! they won't attack us" Xu Yuan assured everyone. Hearing this, the group breathed a collective sigh of relief.

Xu Yuan then took one of the two gold ingots from his bag, tossed it onto the ground, and decided to gamble on his luck!

Hoping to exchange it for something valuable from the piglin.

The piglin immediately saw the gold ingot, picked it up, examined it carefully for a long moment, and then pocketed it. When Ken and the others saw this scene, they were stunned again.

"Can it really be like this?!" one of them exclaimed.

"Boss, are you bribing it!?" someone wondered.

He's inspecting the goods!." another added.

Suddenly, someone shouted "Boss! It swallowed your gold!"

Xu Yuan turned his head to signal them not to speak. After a moment, everyone saw the piglin drop something on the ground.

Xu Yuan watched closely, and to his surprise, it was only a few small pieces of gravel.

He rolled his eyes inwardly. It seemed he was not the Emperor of Europe after all. There was also a gold ingot in his bag, so he tossed another one to the piglin.

The piglin picked up the ingot and, after inspecting it thoroughly, accepted it. Then, it dropped an object on the ground.

Xu Yuan's pupils contracted sharply when he saw what the piglin had dropped: it was a gold coin!

At this moment, Ken's group was also stunned upon seeing the gold coin.

"??????????????????"

"!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

"Whoa?! Was that a gold coin just now?!" Ken, usually so composed, couldn't hold back and asked excitedly.

"This thing can actually be exchanged for gold coins?!!!"

In truth, Xu Yuan already knew that the piglin could exchange items for gold coins.

In Minecraft, the most valuable item on a piglin is probably the enchanted book!

Other drops are usually potion materials or similar items. The enchanted book weighs five units, and the chance of obtaining it is quite small. Moreover, in Minecraft, piglins can indeed exchange their loot for gold coins.

But considering the weight of the exchange, a gold ingot can be converted into just one gold coin.

Even if the probability of getting valuable items like enchanted books is low, Xu Yuan saw this pig spirit as a potential money-making machine.

After all, it's just a gold ingot! perfect for building a monster tower to farm gold ingots! Even if it takes 100 or even 1,000 ingots to exchange for a single gold coin, Xu Yuan could drain this piglin for profit.

Recently, Xu Yuan had been worried about gold coins.

Players knew how to farm monsters but couldn't do so in bulk efficiently. Selling monster materials was slow, and the cost of upgrading land deeds in later stages was rising. This discovery in nether could solve a major problem for him.

He was in an excellent mood. This trip to nether had become worthwhile because of this find.

Meanwhile, Ken and his group looked at Xu Yuan as if they had seen a monster.

Finally, Ken couldn't hold back any longer and tentatively asked "You already knew that this thing could be exchanged for gold coins?!"

Ken had been curious from before why Xu Yuan seemed so knowledgeable about netherr and the monsters inside. This was the first time they had come here together, yet Xu Yuan was so clear about what was in the nether and the characteristics of the monsters. How did he know so much?

Ken even suspected that Xu Yuan might be an insider or a "childcare" (a player with special knowledge) within the game.

Xu Yuan shook his head and replied honestly, "I only know that giving it gold ingots can exchange for items, and I just recently discovered that it can also be exchanged for gold coins."

Ken paused, pondering his next question but hesitating to ask.

Seeing Ken's reaction, Xu Yuan smiled and said, "Ask whatever you want."

Ken frowned, then asked seriously, "Aren't you supposed to be Beta Tester?"

Xu Yuan burst into laughter at that. However, he understood Ken's suspicion. After all, Xu Yuan knew so much about the game! something most players wouldn't have access to. To others, it was a whole new world. Xu Yuan's insights seemed almost prophetic, which naturally led to doubts.

But Xu Yuan considered it Others probably didn't know as much as he did, right?

Many buildings and mechanisms in the game were created based on players' observations of certain features. For instance, killing an iron golem often drops iron ingots, because villagers generate iron golems to protect themselves after seeing zombies. Players exploited this mechanic by building iron golem farm and killing them for resources. These insights weren't in the official guides; they were brainstormed by players.

Even if the official developers knew some details, they wouldn't understand as much as Xu Yuan did.

With this in mind, Xu Yuan shook his head and said with a smile, "No, I don't know as much as Beta Tester does."
