Chapter 3 - Flat Void

The trembling stopped and Seth opened his eyes. But he couldn't see anything. He could feel the cold wind brushing against his skin.

Seth turned his head up. He saw the stars and the moon glowing bright red. But he couldn't see anything around him. It seemed that light couldn't get to where he was.

Seth tried to feel around his surrounding but he couldn't feel anything. Then a voice echoed.

"Walk forward."

Daunted, he was hesitant to obey. Although the voice sounded familiar to him. It sounded like his own voice. But it didn't sound right.

Seth thought for a while before walking forward.

It's not like he can do anything else.

The voice kept on repeating the same words.

"Keep walking."

While walking, he noticed that he didn't get obstructed by anything. Not even rocks, pebbles nor trees. It was just a flat land.

After a while, the voice stopped.

After a few seconds he felt strange. His eyes tingled and itched. He tried to rub them but the tingling feeling only got worse. Seth gave up on rubbing. Then he noticed that he could see his surroundings now. His view becoming further and further as light hits every corner of the world.

Then he looked around his surroundings. He saw nothing but the horizon. No trees, no mountains.

Just then a roar came from behind him. Then he heard the voice again.

"Jump."

Seth's instinct took over his body and jumped.

Suddenly a shockwave came through the ground.

Seth turned around to see what was causing this.

Then a claw came slashing towards him. Before he could react his instinct took initiative and fell back, barely dodging the monsters claws. Seth was finally able to get a good look at the monster.

It looked like a giant mix of lion, monkey and a centaur.

Seth's eyes widened. Its size was easily twice as big as a horse.

Each time it srikes, it seemed like light was also being damaged.

'What is that?!' Seth thought.

The voice suddenly spoke.

"Run away."

Blue light was emitted from above.

Seth ran as fast as he could without looking back, never stopping until he was tired. He got to a safe distance from where the Moon Beast was. It surprisingly didn't chase.

Then, the blue light suddenly burst out a powerful ray. It looked like a crepuscular ray.

It looked like light was fighting back.

In the next moment, a loud thud was heard, followed by a shockwave

His heartbeat was pacing faster and faster, nervousness creeping through his body. He turned around. He slowly got up and walked cautiously back toward the Moon Beast

But it wasn't moving. Then the voice spoke once again.

"Prepare."
