My eyes slowly opened, my face scrunching up against the bright light.
"Farah, she's awake! Hurry!"
I turned toward the voice. Reena was approaching me, her hand gently grasping mine, a wide smile on her face.
"Hey, are you okay? Are you still in pain?" she asked, her voice full of concern. How annoying! But I forced a small smile for her.
"I'm okay," I replied softly.
"Hey, Farah! I was so worried about you, you know? Luckily, your injuries aren't too serious!" Rayqal barged in hastily, followed closely by Alvin.
"Hmm..."
So they're all still pretending like I don't know anything? Fine. I'll play along with their little game.
"Reena, I want to apologize for everything." Honestly, saying those words made me sick, but why not act like the good girl for once?
Amir entered with Nara shortly after, followed by Lina and Fina.
"Everyone, I'm sorry for everything. I realize now that this was all my fault. I've done so many terrible things to all of you... and that's not even counting my other sins." I wiped away fake tears dramatically. They all smiled and nodded slightly. I returned a plastic smile before slowly attempting to sit up.
"Chan, I'm sorry too. Will you forgive me? I love you so much..." I drawled.
Everyone in the room froze, their eyes widening in shock at my bold confession.
If we're playing a drama, might as well go all in, right?
Amir took a deep breath before responding.
"I forgive you. Besides, we just met... and so far, you haven't done anything to annoy me yet," Amir said, taking a seat beside me.
"Rayqal, I hope you understand. I love Chan. Please forgive me, okay?" I said, my face full of feigned hope.
"I know, Farah. Besides, you and Am—uh, Chan—are a perfect match. You two are meant to be!" I let out a small laugh. He was trying so hard to cover it up. Too bad—he was already caught!
"Lina, Fina, do you forgive me? You two have been so quiet," I turned my attention to the twins in front of me.
"We forgive you. You're like a friend to us," the twins said in unison, making me nod slowly.
"Hmm, but there's something I'm curious about... How exactly do all of you—aside from Rayqal and Alvin—know Chan? And where's Amir? I want to apologize to him too..." My words carried a deeper meaning. I was baiting them, eager to see what kind of lies they'd come up with next.
"Amir? Oh, he's around. He just couldn't make it. You know, rich kid stuff," Reena quickly answered, trying to hide her real reaction.
"Oh, okay."
"And as for how we met Chan, well... Rayqal panicked and told me about him, and then we all gathered and got to know each other from there," Nara explained, putting an arm around Reena's shoulder.
"Why is everyone so quiet? Do you guys not like that I'm awake? If you don't want me around, I'll leave right now and never come back. I know I'm a horrible person—I don't deserve forgiveness!" I let a few fake tears trickle down my face as I moved to stand up, but they immediately stopped me, forcing me back down.
"It's not that we don't want you here. We're just happy and can't believe how much you've changed, Farah," Reena said, the others nodding in agreement.
"Oh." I adjusted my still-bandaged hair.
"As a sign that we're all good now, how about I treat you guys to a meal today?" I plastered on a fake smile as I tried to tie up my hair.
"A meal? Yeah! It's been ages since someone treated me!" Alvin's words made everyone burst into laughter.
"By the way, where am I?" I asked, looking around. This place felt completely unfamiliar. It couldn't be a hospital, not with how many visitors I had.
"Reena's house. You probably forgot, huh?" Rayqal raised an eyebrow.
"Oh, I didn't remember. No wonder..." I grinned, scratching my itchy neck.
"How's your dad?" I turned to Reena.
"He was sick before, but he's doing better now. He's in Sarawak handling some work," she replied. I nodded. Who would've thought that corrupt inspector could still hold onto his job?
"Alright, everyone go home and get ready. Dress nicely! We'll meet back here at five in the evening," I glanced at the clock. That gave us two more hours to prepare.
"Okay, Rayqal and I are heading out first," Alvin said, leaving quickly with Rayqal.
"Lina, Fina, we don't think our parents will allow us to go. Sorry, but we'll video call you guys during dinner, okay? Take care, Farah." Fina walked up, pinched my cheek playfully, and left with her twin.
Now, only Chan, Nara, and Reena remained.
"Ermm, Farah, let's go home and get ready. I can't wait to go out, hehe..." Chan grabbed my hand and suddenly tried to lift me up.
"Eh? Why are you carrying me?" I asked, confused.
"Your leg was hurt before..."
I gently pushed his hand away.
"It's fine now. Let's go. Nara, do you want to ride with us?" I turned to her.
Nara shook her head, smiling.
"It's okay, I already ordered a Grab. Bye, guys..." she grinned before walking out.
"Bye, Reena. Get ready, or we'll leave you behind!" Amir teased.
"Yeah, yeah, I know! Now shoo, let me get ready. Bye, Fariz—uh, Farah!" I waved at Reena before Amir pulled me along, leading me out of her house.
Ugh, pretending is exhausting.
"You... do you really love me?" Amir suddenly asked once we were inside the silent car.
"Of course. I don't even know when I started liking you. But I'm not sure about your feelings," I said, stealing a glance at him before playfully poking his arm as he drove his luxury car.
"Hey, love. Why would you say that? Of course, I love you. Otherwise, why would I hire you? If it were any other girl, she'd just be another disposable plaything," he raised an eyebrow as he adjusted my seatbelt.
"I'm so happy... because my love isn't one-sided. Thank you for making space in your heart for me..." Amir glanced at me briefly, a soft smile on his lips.
"Yeah, one-sided love really hurts. So while we have two hands, let's clap together," I teased, winking at him.
He chuckled.
'Yeah, one-sided love is painful. And soon, Amir, you'll feel that pain too... because you're the one who killed the new feelings I had for you with your lies.'
I stole another glance at Amir.
"Love, are you ready yet?"
Annoyed, I opened the bedroom door. He was interrupting me while I was inspecting my new weapons.
"Hmm, it's still an hour away. Why are you rushing to get ready so soon?"
Amir appeared at the door, already looking sharp in a polo shirt and branded jeans.
"You're not ready yet? Come on, even if it's still early, girls take one hour and turn it into three."
I rolled my eyes and went back to my weapons. So many sharp objects I hadn't used yet... But soon, I would.
"Excuse me. I'm not like that, so don't generalize," I shot him a glare before putting my weapons away.
"Uh-huh, and what's all this for? Sharp objects everywhere. Are you planning to kill again?"
I smirked in response.
"Anyway, I want to personally pick the outfit you're going to wear later," he said while opening my wardrobe.
"Suit yourself, but if you pick something ridiculous, I'll make you wear it instead!" I sat on the bed, watching his movements.
Huh, I hope this guy doesn't choose something ridiculous!
"Here." My eyes widened at the outfit he handed me.
"This… is what you picked?" I asked, my face already turning sour.
He just nodded.
"It's beautiful, isn't it?"
"Beautiful? If I wear this, I'll look like a walking corpse. Everything is completely white!" I scoffed, tossing the outfit onto the bed.
"Come on, please? You'll look absolutely stunning in this. Please wear it?" Considering the consequences if I refused, I picked up the outfit again.
"How do you know I'll look pretty in it? I haven't even worn it yet. Now, get out, I need to change!" I pushed him out of the room and shut the door tightly.
Amir simply complied, leaving with a long grin on his face.
"See? You look beautiful. Now this is my girlfriend—so pleasing to the eyes. If you look like this all the time, I'd take you straight to the officiant and marry you on the spot!" My eyes widened at him.
"Marry? Heh, sure! But I'm afraid the officiant might lose his eyes when he sees us together." I approached the mirror, adjusting my hair to look neat while leaving it down.
"Why would that happen?" Amir raised an eyebrow, frowning.
"Because before he even has a chance to conduct the ceremony, the groom will already be a corpse." I said in a low voice, flashing him a sinister smile.
Amir covered his mouth, stifling his laughter, but eventually, he burst out laughing anyway. I had no idea what was so funny that he had to laugh so much!
"Alright, enough with the overreaction. I'm ready, but it's still early to leave. So, I think you should get out of my room now. I need some privacy too." I gestured for him to leave.
"Okay, darling." He stepped out but not before throwing me a flying kiss before disappearing from my room. Huh, if he doesn't make my life chaotic for a day, it just wouldn't be normal! But soon, all of this will be over. Just wait, Amir!
A slow, sinister smile curled on my lips.
---
Amir paced restlessly in his room. He walked back and forth, hands on his hips.
"Why do I feel like you're hiding something? You haven't truly changed, Farah. My gut is telling me that." He ran his fingers through his hair, staring at his reflection in the large mirror on the wall. Suddenly, he recalled how Farah had been examining sharp weapons in her room earlier.
"What if she plans to kill someone again? Damn it, this girl is going to drive me insane!" He rubbed his temples, trying to think of a way to stop Farah from making any reckless moves that could cause problems for everyone.
"You're perfect in every way, yet why can't you just appreciate what you have? Ugh, and with that white dress… you looked so beautiful." His thoughts drifted to how stunning Farah had looked in the white dress.
"Hmm, that dress looks like something for a wedding. Damn, if I followed my heart, I'd marry you right now just to fix that stubborn attitude of yours!" After pacing around for a while, he finally sat down on the sofa.
"Hmm… marriage? Now that I think about it, that sounds like a good idea." A crazy idea suddenly popped into his mind.
"What's wrong with bringing us together?"
He pulled out his phone, feeling uneasy. Hopefully, everything would go according to plan.

Ting! Ting! Ting! Ting! Ting!
I paused while applying my blood-red lipstick and reached for my phone. What's with all the noise?
Annoyed, I grabbed my phone and opened WhatsApp, where messages had been flooding in nonstop.
So it was from the group chat. Ugh, what were they yelling about now?
Chit Chat Hot Besties
Reena:
Sorry, guys… I can't make it today. My dad is suddenly on his way back home.
Nara:
Me neither. If Reena's not going, it won't be fun. Sorry!
Alvin:
Hehe, if most of you aren't going… I won't go either.
Rayqal:
Yeah, Ara, if Reena's dad is coming home, I have to stay home too… huaaa sorry, guys.
Chan:
Idiots. Just because Rayqal and Reena aren't coming, you all are canceling? So it's just me and Farah now?!
Rayqal:
Looks like it. Oh well, just go on a date with your girlfriend!
Chan:
Sounds interesting! But as if she'd agree.
I was beyond irritated. I had taken the time to get ready, looking all pretty, and now they suddenly decided not to go? There goes my plan to teach these people a lesson! But I quickly typed a message in the group.
You:
Okay, another time then.
Rayqal:
Why not just go on a date with Chan? Poor him…
Alvin:
Yeah, he's probably all dressed up already.
You:
No thanks. I'm not in the mood to go out if there are only a few people.
Satisfied. No way was I going out alone with him! What a waste of time and energy.
And Amir—seriously? We live in the same house, and he couldn't even say anything to me directly? Instead of thinking about nonsense, I'd rather just sleep! I closed my eyes and lay back on the bed.
But before I could fall asleep, loud knocks came from the front door.
Tok! Tok! Tok!
"Chan, someone's at the door… go answer it!" I shouted, but there was no response from Amir. Ugh, is he ignoring me just because he's upset?
Tok! Tok! Tok!
Annoyed, I got out of bed and went to open the front door, fixing my loose hair with my fingers.
Does this guy not have ears? How can he ignore the knocking?!
I slowly opened the door, my expression already sour.
Standing there were two elderly men, each wearing a white skullcap. They looked at me with a scrutinizing gaze.
What kind of disaster is this now? Whatever it is, I'll blame Amir first—because he's definitely the cause of this!
What are these old men doing here at this hour? Don't they have anything better to do?
I stared at the two uninvited guests with a blank, uninterested expression.
