This dimensional shift felt… blocky. As Tom Jacker's vision refocused, he found himself standing atop a perfectly cubic mound of dirt. Around him, trees had cubic trunks and leaves, clouds floated with rigid angles, and even the sun above looked like a giant pixelated circle.
"Okay, this is new," Tom muttered, curiously patting the side of a cubic tree. He felt the rough texture of the wood, yet it still felt strange due to its shape. Using the "Fashion Adaptation" Quirk from AFO, he changed his white chiton into a more practical adventurer's suit, though its details still looked a bit too "smooth" for this world.
He was about to try hovering using Telekinesis (via AFO) when the familiar System panel flashed before him with an emergency red glow.
[System Panel]
- Warning! Entity detected with the potential to manipulate this world's fundamental reality ('God Steve'). This entity is in the process of 'installing' additional powers ('Mods'). Its current activity is unstable and potentially threatens dimensional integrity or even your ability to shift.
- Priority Objective: Defeat 'God Steve' before the 'Mod' installation process is complete and his power becomes immeasurable or causes dimensional damage.
Tom raised an eyebrow. "God Steve? Installing Mods? Sounds like someone's messing with the universe's source code." He grinned. "And it seems his little game could interfere with me. Can't have that."
He looked around, trying to sense traces of this "God Steve." He could feel something odd in the air, a kind of "unfinished" or "unstable" energy. He also noticed some oddities in the surrounding landscape. In the distance, he saw a mountain whose peak was partially made of colorful glass blocks that clearly weren't natural to this world, and some pigs were walking backward at high speed.
"Failed installation traces, I suppose," Tom thought. "This god seems like an amateur."
He decided to fly up a bit using his Absolute Psychokinesis to get a better view. From above, the Minecraft world stretched below him, a carpet of green and brown cubes. He saw a small village near a river, and on its outskirts, a half-built obsidian tower radiated a slightly different energy aura.
"Perhaps there," Tom said. With a thought, he teleported near the obsidian tower.
As he approached, he saw more oddities. Some standard Minecraft mobs: Creepers, Zombies, Skeletons, were roaming around, but some of them had strange accessories: Zombies wore wizard hats, Creepers had small, erratically flapping wings, and Skeletons fired arrows that exploded into confetti.
"Custom NPCs mod is already active, apparently," Tom commented, recognizing the customization patterns from the System's description. "This God Steve is really experimenting."
He wasn't interested in fighting these low-level mobs. He was looking for the source. He felt a greater concentration of strange energy coming from inside the obsidian tower. He casually walked toward the tower's entrance, ignoring a winged Creeper that tried to approach him (which he then "patted" with a small psychic wave until it exploded from a safe distance).
Inside the tower, the atmosphere was even more chaotic. There were human-shaped NPCs with various strange skins, some holding diamond swords, others firing snowballs. They seemed confused; their AI didn't seem fully "mature" yet.
"Excuse me, has anyone seen a slightly panicked programmer god around here?" Tom greeted a group of NPCs that looked like medieval knights but with pumpkin heads. They merely growled and attacked him.
Tom sighed. "Alright, the hard way then."
The hunt for "God Steve" had begun. And Tom Jacker was ready to "debug" this world in his own way.
With the System's warning still ringing in his mind and a clear new objective, Tom Jacker began his hunt for "God Steve." He was no longer just wandering aimlessly; every step now had intent. He had to find this entity before the unstable "mod installation" caused greater problems.
"Careless divine programmer," Tom muttered as he leaped across a cubic river. "Leaving unfinished installation traces everywhere. Completely unprofessional."
He used Absolute Psychokinesis to lift himself high into the air, scanning the blocky landscape. His sharp eyes searched for further anomalies. He saw a forest where trees grew at impossible angles, and some rainbow-colored sheep that clearly weren't part of "vanilla" Minecraft.
"The trail's getting warmer," Tom thought. He teleported to the colorful forest.
As he landed, several warrior-shaped NPCs with diamond armor and glowing swords (effects of a half-finished Custom NPCs mod) immediately attacked him. Their AI seemed aggressive but a bit stiff and repetitive.
"Oh, guardians, are we?" Tom grinned. "God Steve must know I'm coming."
He wasted no time. Using a combination of Telekinesis (from AFO) and Absolute Psychokinesis, he gripped all the warrior NPCs, lifted them into the air, then slammed them against each other until they shattered into block particles.
"Decent defense, Steve," Tom said to the empty air, as if speaking directly to his target. "But you'll need more than that."
He continued his journey, following a trail of increasingly frequent "mod damage": unnaturally half-cut mountains, lava lakes suddenly appearing in the middle of grasslands, and even some half-finished modern building structures floating in the air, as if the "god" had lost focus while building them.
Tom also had to face some more dangerous "experiments" from the Custom NPCs mod. In a canyon, he was confronted by a giant NPC resembling an iron golem but with an Enderman's speed and the ability to shoot fire projectiles.
"This one's a bit more interesting!" Tom exclaimed. He decided not to destroy it immediately. He used Spatial Teleportation to dodge the golem's attacks, appearing and disappearing around it, while analyzing its attack patterns. He used various Quirks from AFO; Hellflame to retaliate with fire, Muscle Augmentation to withstand some of its blows directly, and even Compress to try and compact one of the golem's arms into a marble (which proved quite difficult due to its size and strange magical resistance).
The battle against this NPC golem lasted several minutes, providing Tom with some entertainment. Finally, he used Absolute Psychokinesis to tear the golem apart from the inside, destroying its "core" energy, which looked like a flickering command block.
"Well-made, Steve, but still plenty of bugs," Tom commented after the golem collapsed.
He was getting closer. He could feel the concentration of "modding" energy growing stronger. He followed the trail to a large cave hidden behind an artificial waterfall (whose water flowed upwards). Inside the cave, he saw him: "God Steve."
Steve, in his classic skin, was in a panic in front of a giant holographic interface displaying lines of code and a flashing red "Installation Failed" status. Around him, there were more custom NPCs that looked stronger and more prepared: some resembled robed warriors with magic staves, others were mechanical beasts with glowing eyes. They were Steve's last line of defense.
"Looks like your party's about to end, Mr. Programmer," Tom said, appearing at the cave entrance.
Steve turned, his pixelated eyes widening in surprise and fear when he saw Tom. "You… you shouldn't be here! Who are you?!"
"Me? I'm quality control," Tom replied with a predatory smile. "And it looks like your product here has a lot of serious problems."
"Quality control?" "God Steve" repeated, his voice trembling between fear and anger. He waved his hand at the chaotic holographic interface in front of him. "You're all the same! You don't understand the art of creation! This is my masterpiece!"
"A masterpiece that nearly destroyed reality, buddy," Tom Jacker retorted, casually walking into the cave. He arrived in this Minecraft world with only three of his core abilities: Spatial Teleportation, All For One (giving him access to various MHA Quirks), and Absolute Psychokinesis. Four of his seven ability slots were still empty, waiting to be filled.
The custom NPCs around Steve immediately took attack positions. Robed warriors began casting spells from block particles, cubic fireballs, jagged ice arrows, and even some spells that caused the dirt blocks beneath Tom's feet to suddenly disappear, attempting to drop him into a fabricated abyss. Mechanical beasts fired lasers and charged with their metal claws.
Tom merely smiled. This was the kind of chaos he enjoyed.
He used Spatial Teleportation to dodge the barrage of magical attacks, appearing and disappearing among the NPCs, confusing them and often causing them to attack each other. He activated Absolute Psychokinesis, catching the magical projectiles in mid-air, twisting them, then sending them back to the spellcasters with double the force.
One of the mechanical beasts managed to pounce on him, but Tom, with his Tom Template, simply allowed the claws to penetrate his body for a moment before he gripped the beast's mechanical head and crushed it with a single hand enhanced by the Muscle Augmentation Quirk.
"Your robot design is decent," Tom said, "but the wiring is messy."
He saw some NPCs trying to use encirclement tactics. With Absolute Psychokinesis, he created a force field that trapped several NPCs, then used Telekinesis (via AFO) to disarm them or bash them into each other.
Steve stared at the scene in horror, disbelieving what he was seeing. This intruder was too strong, too unpredictable.
Tom casually walked through the remains of the battle towards the trembling Steve. The modding interface behind Steve flickered more erratically.
"You know, for a god, your security system sucks," Tom said as he arrived in front of Steve.
"D-don't come closer!" Steve threatened, trying to summon other NPCs, but his interface crashed, only displaying an error message. "I... I'll destroy you with my strongest mod!"
"Your strongest mod seems to be on vacation," Tom replied. He extended his hand towards Steve. He didn't need to use physical force. He just needed to "defeat" the essence of Steve's ability to manipulate the mods. "Time for an 'uninstall,' buddy."
Steve shrieked as Tom touched his forehead. He felt something fundamental being pulled from him, his connection to the modding interface, his ability to try and change this Minecraft world, all vanished. He collapsed to the floor, now just a scared, ordinary Steve player.
[System Panel]
- Condition 'target defeated' with reality manipulation potential has been met.
- Remaining 'Mod' energy active and connected to the target ('Custom NPCs') is now stable.
- System Notification: Unique ability 'Created Entity Customization (Custom NPCs Mod)' has been copied. Slots filled: 4/7.
- Description: Allows the user to manifest or modify living entities (NPCs) with customizable appearance, stats (health, strength), equipment, and behavior patterns (AI). Complexity and number of controllable NPCs depend on user's energy and focus.
Tom felt a new understanding flow into him. Not raw combat power, but something far more… creative. The ability to create "actors" in his own game. He smiled widely.
The remaining custom NPCs that hadn't been destroyed now stood still, their AI seemingly losing commands. The cave became silent.
Tom glanced at the unconscious Steve on the floor. "Rest, Programmer. You've caused enough trouble." He then looked around the cave filled with the remnants of NPCs. "And all of you..."
He snapped his fingers. The NPCs one by one disappeared into block particles, returning to nothingness.
With "God Steve" now powerless and the unique ability to create custom NPCs copied, Tom Jacker felt his mission in this strange Minecraft world was nearly complete. The threat to dimensional integrity (and his ability to jump) had been addressed. This blocky world would likely return to a more stable "vanilla" state, or at least, no longer be threatened by haphazard mod installations.
Tom spent a little time in the cave, experimenting with his new power. He focused his mind, and before him, a small blocky figure began to form from particles of light. The figure slowly took shape… a mini Kratos, complete with pale skin and red tattoos, albeit in a cute cubic version. The mini Kratos NPC looked around in confusion, then let out a blocky, utterly unintimidating growl.
"This… this is amazing!" Tom burst into laughter. He then tried again, this time creating a mini Yennefer NPC with cubic black hair and pixelated violet eyes. The Yennefer NPC immediately glared at the Kratos NPC with a blocky version of annoyance.
"The potential for chaos… is limitless!" Tom thought gleefully. He could create a small army of characters he'd encountered, make them fight, or simply use them as extremely strange personal servants. He could even try to create NPCs of himself, an army of mini Tom Jackers that would make the world even dizzier.
He decided to leave a small "farewell gift" for the Minecraft world. He teleported to a large, empty plain. There, using Absolute Psychokinesis to move thousands of dirt and stone blocks in an instant, combined with the Created Entity Customization ability to program behavior, he began to build.
Several hours later, a highly absurd "Tom Jacker Amusement Park" stood. There was a roller coaster made of gold blocks and redstone, a haunted house guarded by politely talking (then exploding and reappearing) Creeper NPCs, and a stage where Kratos and Yennefer NPCs performed a blocky comedy drama about their quarrelsome domestic life.
"My work here is done," Tom said, looking at his strange amusement park with satisfaction. "I hope the Villagers and other players enjoy it."
He glanced at his ability list. Four slots filled:
- Spatial Teleportation
- All For One (with MHA Quirk library)
- Absolute Psychokinesis (Esper)
- Created Entity Customization (Custom NPCs Mod)
There were still three empty slots. He could have sought out the Ender Dragon or the Wither to try and copy their abilities, but after the experience with "God Steve" and the unique gift he gained, those standard mobs felt less interesting. Besides, he was starting to feel a little… saturated with this cubic world.
It was time for new adventures, new challenges, and, of course, new "collections."
Tom focused his mind, imagining a different world, a world that might possess types of powers or creatures he had never encountered. He activated his Dimensional Shift ability.
A tear in reality began to form in the blocky Minecraft sky, a swirling, colorful portal, in stark contrast to the world around it.
"Goodbye, block world!" Tom exclaimed. "Hope my NPCs don't cause too much trouble!"
With one last leap, he stepped into the portal, leaving the Tom Jacker Amusement Park as the only tangible proof that an invincible anomaly had once stopped by and played around in the world of Minecraft.
