I opened the door of the shop and went inside, As i went inside i was greeted by Seo yeon and ignored by Bomi.
Understandable.
"You didn't show up yesterday? Did something happen."
"Aah... I got home a little late. So i took yesterday off."
"I see, You... didn't catch a cold right?"
"Nahh... I was practicing for the game. I needed some practice since the tournament was coming up."
"I see, it's good that you didn't fall sick."
"Were you worried?"
"Well... here's your umbrella. Ofcourse i was, it was me that took your umbrella."
"Aah... The umbrella, Thanks."
aah, that's where it was... I was looking for it all over the house.
I forgot i had it with me. Haha
"So, is your preparation going well?"
"Well... yes, for now i feel like I'm doing well. There's still a lot left to be desired."
"I see... when is the game?"
"The tournament starts on 4th."
"Whattt? That's the day after tomorrow."
"Yes, I'm a but nervous honestly."
"It's going to be fine, You were selected so there must be some merit to you."
"Maybe there is."
"Let's get back to work."
"Yaa..."
...
It's the day after tomorrow, the match. How do i deal with that delivery?
What if there's swing on offer? I'll be a sitting duck.
If it's an inswing, i should defend it close to my body. If it's swinging outside than i should leave it.
If it's swinging and in the slot, than drive it.
If it's a Good length ball at the top of off stump than either a forward defence or backward defence should be good enough.
*Ring ring*
but if it swings outside than nicking it will become a 80% Possibility. I can't afford to lose my guard.
Especially in the first 4 overs.
I can't play aggressively like i do usually.
This is a regional game and there's bound to be good players.
I can't afford to look down neither on them nor on myself.
Hmm... how long has this guy been standing here...
Shit...
"Excuse me, How many i help you?"
He did not even call me? What's going on... Aah, it's that guy isn't it.
He's probably looking around for her.
"Is... Seo Yeon here?"
Where did she go? She was just here moments ago?
"I'm sorry, I'm not sure."
I didn't know so i just said i wasn't sure.
"I see."
"Sir, what may i get you?"
"The usual."
I'm not sure what that Usual is supposed to be.
How am i supposed to help?
"Give me a minute sir, I'll be right back."
I went inside looking for seo yeon.
i found her talking to bomi.
"We are having a private conversation can you please leave us alone."
I didn't even ask her anything and she's already growing like an angry dog.
Why does bomi hate me so much? Is it because I'm pathetic? I Don't know.
I don't have the time to be dilly dallying.
"That dude's asking for the 'usual' I Don know what the usual is. Can you make it?"
"Yes, I'll take care of that."
"Thanks."
I left not bothering the 2.
I wonder what happened.
...
It's either the cut or the Pull shot whrn he's dragged it short.
Depending on the line.
I should set the machine to the required line and length to practice each shot.
I have a day off tomorrow so, I'll practice the whome day.
The match starts at 7 In the Night so there should be no problems.
As i guessed the matches are being held in the big chain grounds created in Seoul.
If i had to go somewhere else, I might have had a problem with travelling.
So, Matches are every alternative day.
I have about 4 matches to play. Since there are 5 teams in a group.
And than If our team ends up in the top, than we get to play the semi finals.
I wonder what my team's Like.
...
It was the day of the match. We were told to show up at 2 Pm so I decided to work until 2 instead of taking the night shift.
That's what I'm going to do. Work in the morning from 9 Am-1Pm and than get to the stadium which is actually pretty close from here.
So, if shouldn't cost much to take the bus.
The tournament starts today, I have to get there by 2 and I can start from 1:30 pm.
I'm quite glad that the owner allowed me to only work 3 hours.
She was shocked to hear that I'm representing Seoul in regional sports.
She seemed almost proud. Allowing me to work low hours.
But, that doesn't mean she pays me for the hours I don't work. She'll only pay me 30000 today.
She told me I should compensate her by working 9 hours for whenever I don't have a match but it was hard to do so.
It was the end of today's work as I bade farewell to everyone and took the bus to the Seoul cricket ground.
Seoul didn't have a cricket ground until now, I'm quite glad it has one now.
...
I went inside the building near the stadium which was the dressing room.
I had my kit and dress ready.
But, before that it was important to know and understand what kind of people they are
And so I opened the door.
"It's him... The famous Rookie."
The famous Rookie? Do they mean me?
"He's so tall, handsome... Kinda makes me jealous man."
That's me right?...
"I know right, not to mention the blue hair. Isn't that like once in a lifetime colour? Is it natural? Or did he dye it?"
Nope, that's definately not me.
"Alan Kim. He's the son of that famous batsman from America."
America plays cricket? A lot of things have changed haven't they...
"Hello, I'm sure you know me but let me introduce myself. I'm Alan Kim, I'm a right arm Pacer."
Ooh... A pacer, that's interesting.
"I'm also the captain of this team."
He said and everyone was shocked.
"As expected... Just like his father."
I wonder how a Korean origin Man is playing cricket and that too for America.
That makes no sense.
