Chapter 19 - Chapter 19

At that moment, Eleanor noticed something strange about Celine.

He quickly walked out of the jewelry store and came over to Celine, bending down to look at her. "What's wrong? Why do you look so pale?"

Celine raised her hand and pointed toward Lorenzo not far away. "Third brother, look... Lorenzo is here."

Eleanor looked in the direction Celine pointed. He saw a tall, handsome young man who stood out in the crowd.

No wonder!

No wonder Lorenzo could be dating his sister and still be able to flirt with a rich second-generation heir.

He even pushed Celine and the entire Yu family into deep pain to please the rich heir!

Although Celine had only seen the tragic future in her "precognitive dream," to Eleanor, that was more than a dream,it was a deeply painful warning.

So, his hatred for Lorenzo was no less than Celine's.

"Third brother will take care of him for you!" Eleanor said through gritted teeth, his eyes burning with anger.

He would never let Lorenzo have the chance to hurt his sister again, nor let the tragedy from the past life repeat.

Celine gently shook her head and whispered, "Third brother, don't go too far. It's not time yet."

She knew Eleanor was holding a burning anger inside, but now wasn't the time to settle everything. She needed a more thorough plan.

"I know my limits."

Eleanor took a deep breath, forcing down his anger, and replied to Celine.

He took out his phone and quickly dialed a number.

The call connected quickly. Eleanor spoke in a low voice, "Ziro, do me a favor. Someone bullied my sister. Help me 'handle' him."

Ziro was a brother Eleanor met when driving his sports car. He was loyal and hated to see women being bullied.

After ending the call, Eleanor sent Lorenzo's photo to Ziro.

After receiving the photo, Ziro immediately understood.

Without hesitation, he started a taxi and quickly found Lorenzo in this small county town by recognizing his features.

At that moment, Lorenzo stood by the roadside, looking frustrated.

Celine's phone was turned off, leaving him completely lost.

He wanted to find out where Celine lived, but he didn't understand the local dialect at all. Communicating was like a chicken talking to a duck.

Helpless, Lorenzo planned to take a taxi to the county center's hotel to stay for the night, and then think of a way tomorrow.

But the local taxi drivers in this small town saw he was an outsider and charged ridiculously high prices.

Lorenzo was already upset. The greedy taxi drivers made him even angrier.

He forced down his anger and was about to shout at them when a taxi slowly stopped in front of him.

The window rolled down, revealing Ziro's honest face.

He asked Lorenzo, "Young man, where are you going?"

Lorenzo was stunned for a moment, then told him the name of the hotel in the county center.

Ziro smiled widely and offered a very reasonable price.

Lorenzo was delighted and got into the taxi without thinking.

Inside the taxi, Ziro looked at Lorenzo through the rearview mirror.

Then he broke the silence and started chatting warmly, "Young man, judging by your clothes, you don't look like a local. Are you here on vacation?"

Lorenzo was frustrated because he couldn't contact Celine and was angry at the greedy drivers. Hearing Ziro's friendly question made him feel a little better.

He sighed lightly, his tone filled with helplessness. "Not vacationing. I'm here to find my girlfriend."

"Oh, that's good!" Ziro raised his voice in fake surprise, his face full of smiles as if he truly felt happy for Lorenzo.

"So, are you coming to meet the family? Planning to propose?"

While talking, Ziro kept staring at Lorenzo's eyes through the rearview mirror.

Lorenzo gave a soft "mm" as a response, which meant he agreed with what Ziro said.

But the way his eyes flickered showed what he was really thinking inside.

Even though he had been dating Celine for two years, he never thought about marrying her.

To him, marriage was like a business deal. It needed to be carefully calculated to see what he could gain or lose.

Celine came from a poor family in a rural village. What made it worse for him was that she had several brothers, and two of them were disabled.

A family like that would only drag him down in the future.

The only reason he dated Celine in the first place was because she was young, pretty, easy to fool, and very obedient. She never caused trouble.

Living with her helped him save money on rent and also satisfied his physical needs. It was a win-win for him.

As for why he came looking for her this time, his reason was simple: he wanted money.

Recently, he had met Vanissa, the daughter of the company's CEO. She was rich and came from a powerful family.

Vanissa was the kind of woman he dreamed of marrying. With her, he wouldn't have to struggle for decades.

But chasing a rich girl cost money. His little savings were almost gone.

To keep up his impressive image in front of Vanissa, he had no choice but to come here to find Celine.

He planned to sweet-talk her and then "borrow" some money to use for now.

Ziro caught the brief flash of calculation in Lorenzo's eyes and sneered inwardly.

This man, pretending to be all proper, was exactly what Eleanor had said he was , a true scumbag.

And Ziro had come today to teach this scum a lesson for Celine.

He grinned and asked casually, "Brother, you came all this way but didn't go straight to her house? Why stay at a hotel? Are you afraid of your future mother-in-law or something?"

Lorenzo frowned and avoided the question. He quickly changed the topic. "Do you know which village nearby has a lot of people with the last name Yu?"

Ziro was secretly pleased. He patted his chest with fake enthusiasm. "Of course I know! I know everything around here. The Yu Family Village is just outside the county town. I know the way well!"

Lorenzo's eyes lit up when he heard that. He had been worried because he couldn't reach Celine, but now he felt much better.

He urged quickly, "That's great. Please take me there now."

"Alright, buckle up!" Ziro replied, then stepped hard on the gas. The taxi sped forward.

But as time passed, Lorenzo began to feel that something wasn't right.

The scenery outside the window kept getting more and more remote. The buildings turned into farmland, and then into barren hills.

"Driver, are you sure this is the right way? This doesn't look like the road to a village," Lorenzo couldn't help asking.

Ziro didn't even turn his head and answered confidently, "That's right. The Yu Family Village is just ahead, over that hill. Don't worry. I've been driving this route for decades. I could do it with my eyes closed."

Lorenzo didn't believe him. He took out his phone to try calling Celine again, but the signal bar showed zero.

A bad feeling washed over him. Lorenzo started to panic.

"Where are you taking me? I want to get out. Take me back right now or I'll call the police!"

Ziro suddenly slammed the brakes and stopped the car on the side of the road. He turned around. The smile on his face was gone. Now he looked fierce.

"Call the police? Go ahead! Look around. There's not a single person or store in sight. Who are you going to call?"

"Let me tell you the truth. I don't want you in my car anymore."

"Go wherever you want. I don't even want your fare. I'll just consider it bad luck that I picked up someone like you."

After saying that, Ziro pulled Lorenzo out of the car, got back in, and drove off.

Lorenzo was completely stunned.

He looked at the empty mountain road, listening to the wind blowing around him. A deep fear rose in his chest.
