Chapter 4 - PATHS CROSSED

Pamela hurried through the rain-soaked streets of Paris, her heart heavy with frustration and confusion. After seeing Alexander with Victoria, she felt a sharp pang of betrayal. The warmth of their earlier interaction seemed overshadowed by the image of him with someone else.

The rain fell steadily, mirroring her tumultuous emotions as she navigated the slippery cobblestones. She didn't want to think about Alexander, didn't want to dwell on the connection they had shared. But the more she tried to push it away, the more it clawed at her heart.

Reaching her small apartment, she flung the door open and stepped inside, shaking off the water from her coat. The dim light of her living room felt oppressive, amplifying her sense of isolation. She sank onto the couch, staring out at the rain streaking the window, wondering how everything had gone so wrong in such a short time.

Days passed, and Pamela tried to distract herself with various activities, but the memory of that night lingered in her thoughts. Feeling restless, she scrolled through job listings online one evening, hoping for a fresh start. That's when she stumbled upon an opening at a prominent company known for its innovative projects.

"Why not?" she muttered, a flicker of hope igniting within her. She quickly prepared her application, focusing on the opportunity ahead without realizing that the company was run by Alexander himself.

Meanwhile, Alexander was consumed by his responsibilities as the CEO. Despite the success of his recent projects, his mind kept drifting back to Pamela. He regretted not having the chance to explain himself, to clarify that seeing Victoria had been unexpected and meaningless.

As he reviewed applications for the new position, one name stood out—Pamela. His heart raced as he read through her resume. She was talented and had a background that perfectly matched what he was looking for.

"Of all the luck," he said to himself, a mixture of surprise and excitement flooding through him. He felt a renewed determination to reach out, to find a way to talk to her again.

After a moment's thought, he decided to arrange an interview. This could be his chance to reconnect, to explain everything without the weight of misunderstanding hanging over them.

As he prepared for the meeting, he felt a sense of hope. Maybe this time, things would be different. Maybe they could turn a new page in the heart of Paris.
