How the [MAGIC WORKS]

[Mana Circuit System (Deep Body-Based)]

Magic is channeled through circuits inside the body.

Magic in this world flows through Mana Circuits within the body — invisible pathways that grow stronger, deeper, and more complex with practice, experience, and emotional growth.

• Every mage begins with sealed circuits, and each milestone of development unlocks a Spell Gate — a powerful node of awakening.

• Everyone is born with circuits, but their shape, purity, and flow vary wildly.

• Mana can 'deviate' or become toxic if improperly channeled.

• Cultivation involves healing and expanding these circuits.

• Higher ranks unlock more 'Nodes,' or Spell Gates, within their body.

[TITLES/RANKS]

Novice — Beginner, learning basic mana control and spells.

Adept — Intermediate mage, skilled in fundamental magic and rituals.

Arcanist — Advanced practitioner, capable of complex spells and magical research.

Master — Highly skilled mage, recognized for expertise and mentorship.

Sage — The ultimate rank; legendary mages with profound knowledge, power, and influence over magic.

[TERMS TO KNOW]

Mana-mute — a rare condition where a person's innate magical energy pathways, or mana circuits, are either severely underdeveloped, broken, or entirely blocked. Because of this, mana cannot properly flow through their body, rendering them unable to cast spells or use magical abilities like other mages.

Mana Burn — A harmful effect caused by overexertion of magic, damaging the mage's mana circuits. This can happen if one is not careful with their magic.

Spell Echo — A lingering effect or reverberation of a spell after its initial casting. This is a rare phenomenon and should be treated with care.

Essence Drain — A dark magic technique that siphons mana or life energy from others. It is mostly banned across Astia.
