After getting dressed, Adam walked past the mirror in his room and began to admire himself, having completely forgot what he looked like.
'Red hair? Is this my natural hair color? Please don't tell me I dye it.'
He had an average height, white skin with a slight tan, and was quite slim, having no noticeable muscle mass to speak of.
Leaning into the mirror he took a closer look at his own eyes.
They were maroon with speckled flakes of black. His pupils and irises seemed to be outlined with pyrite.
What stuck out to him most though, was the shape of his pupils. They were not circles, but almost oval shaped.
'How peculiar'
Even with his scrawny build and odd features, all in all he believed himself to look quite good.
After looking himself over a couple times he made his way back to the bed, but before he could attempt to sit back down Iris walked into the room ready for their outing.

The couple had walked for a while before Iris started to make good on her word and was now teaching him about the world he did not remember being a part of.
"Before we get into clans, let's go over the basics, so 300 years ago the Angels tore holes in the world and descended from the heavens."
"The Angels?"
"Yes the Angels, five to be exact. When the Angels descended they brought with them the divine and the profane. The two biggest changes brought by the descent is the power that flowed from the Angels into the world and the abominations that followed them through the tears in the world."
Looking at Iris dumbstruck, he cut her off before she could continue to drop another bomb of knowledge on him.
"Wait, wait a second Iris! You're talking about some pretty crazy stuff here."
'Angels?! Tears in the world?! …and did she say Abominations?! She's crazy, my girlfriend is insane!'
Iris, feeling that Adam was thinking unsavory thoughts about her began to pout. Sticking her nose up and turning away, she spoke with a huff.
"What? Don't believe me?"
Adam still reeling for the words spilt from Iris's mouth shook his head slowly.
"No, I really can't say that I do."
Iris not too surprised by his answer, simply sighed and pointed straight into the sky.
Adam, curious to see what she was pointing at followed her form. Starting from he face, to her shoulder, to her elbow, to her wrist, and finally following her finger all the way into the sky.
Looking up Adam gazed into something he should have never gazed into.
There in the sky, a giant tear in the very fabric of the world was hanging above him, blanketing the city in its shadow.
Looking at the very edge of the tear put enough strain on his very existence to force him to his knees. Adam tried to look away from the tear, but it was as though someone had clawed into his mind and was forcing him to try and look deeper.
His eyes strained under the pressure of an invisible battle taking place in his mind. His pupils shaking violently stuck somewhere between trying to look away and trying to look deeper.
His ears began to crackle and pop while nose had started to bleed.
Before he could gaze any longer, any deeper, Iris grabbed him and forced his eyes away from the tear, but she was too late. It had already noticed him. It had already felt him. It had already seen him and he had seen it.

"…am, ..Adam…, ADAM?!"
Hearing Iris's screams, Adam finally came to.
He had passed out.
Realizing he was laying on the ground, Adam tried to stand up, but stumbled a few times before deciding to lean on Iris for support.
His eyes were wide and bloodshot, red-hot tears streaming from them, his face covered in blood from his nose, and his mind a mess from gazing at the ungazeable, managed to spit out a sentence.
"Iris, what the hell was that….?"
His voice was hoarse and strained.
She was panicked and scared. Responding hastily while looking him over a few times she said, "I.., I.., I don't know, nothing like that has ever happened before! People usually just look at it just fine!"
Finding a nearby bench to sit on, the couple decided to sit down and rest for a while.
